We had a nice stay at this resort. Our room was on the third floor, a corner room with an awesome view of the lake. It was comfortable and had a balcony. It would have been great for looking at the stars, but it was cloudy and very windy all night. I must say, getting up to the room was... More

Staying at Peppers was a great experience. Staff were polite and helpful and we had a superb room which was third floor lake view - absolutely stunning outlook to the lake. We had to postpone our initial booking because I was unwell. The hotel manager was more than helpful and simply transferred our booking to a later date. There was... More

The only disappointment in a tremendously good holiday in South Island. Having recently stayed in the Mantra apartments which are owned by the same company we were expecting good things. The Mantra is cheaper, cleaner, better maintained and better designed. The only thing that could possibly justify the prices are the lake views of Tekapo. However, these are severely blocked... We travel with tour group. The room facing the lake, marvelous lakeview. Good location, not far from the church of the Good shepherd. The first night we stay got some water insect in the room, the staff come to eliminate it with insect killer. It's can't avoidable since we are staying near to the lake.

The property is large and spaced out located near the market and cafes. It looks great from the outside, but needs to be more professional and tourist friendly. For starters the rooms are not that great. Some face the lake, others are further back with a rather longish walk to the reception area. Cleanliness is an issue. Our rooms smelt... More

We stayed at the property recently as part of our NZ Honeymoon driving trip. We were most disappointed by the position of the room as it was next to their maintenance area (why they have a maintenance area near their rooms I do not know). Each morning we were woken by graders, rubbish tippers etc...not a great experience. The room... More

Tekapo is an absolutely gorgeous place and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit except for the accommodation. We got the standard room (805a) and we were shocked when we opened the door. The room is the size of a king bed with just enough room to walk around it. The smell of mouldy damp carpet was overwhelming, caused by a leaking... More
