We stayed at Parkhead Motels at Lake Tekapo in June and booked the Lakefront Cottage. A great place to stay very quiet and right on the Lake. Fabulous views and a short drive to town. This is our second stop and would do so again. 1970 style accomodation but clean and tidy and all the necessities. Bed was comfortable.

We stayed at the Parkhead Motel twice, once in the house at the front of the property (which is lovely & modern) & the second time in one of the studio units. The motel offers clean, quiet & comfortable accommodation for a great price. There's the best views of the lake and it's close to the town centre (about 5... More

Loved this unique motel right on the lake with a great view. Fantastic location within walking distance of Main Street. Very comfortable rooms and beds. Also very clean and lovely little balcony attached to our room. We stayed in a three person room with one double and one single.

This is the best best place to start in New Zealand! We are right in front of lake Tekapo and a song away from church! Host is really nice and the room is clean and neat. Everything you need for cooking or laundry is available. Definitely coming again!

Was expecting a motel not a group of what looked like mobile homes. Yes it was reasonably comfortable and had a late view but the room we were in had very old cheap looking chairs & cabinets and I can't remember the last time I saw a pink bathroom sink. Being charged $5 to access the Internet only if or... More

We stayed in the Macauley (unit 2) (RHS front unit). We found the inside comfortable if not a little dated, which we knew it would be by the website photos. Surprised to see a washing machine. Our unit could sleep 4 people all in single beds, Unit 1 has a double. The views across the lake were amazing from the... More

The motel is in a great spot and the inn keeper is wonderful!! The owner does need to upgrade the furnishings as they appear to be outdated! The motel does have a full kitchen and the area is beautiful. It is with in a few minutes walking distance to the church and the dog statue.

Very tired in need of a major upgrade in today's standards. But at the price they charge and the location, you won't find anything better. Old 70's style motel with basic tea/ coffee making facilities and a microwave. Not setup for cooking in the unit we stayed in. Small hot water tank so 5min is all you get unless you... More

Stayed in the family unit with lake view at $155 per night for two nights. As other people had already described the motel's facilities and views, so I talk about the host. He works for the owner and isn't a kiwi but well traveled in southland, he is very friendly and approachable, he is more than happy to share his... More

We stayed at the Lakefront Cottage and the views were unbeatable! The unit was spacious for my party of 4 and comes equipped with a full kitchen, laundry machine, and a huge dining table! The furnishings in the unit were very out of date but it was a comfortable stay so no complaints. One of the bedroom even opens up... More
