Dawson Falls Mountain lodge offers unique lodge style accommodation on a magnificent site situated on the slopes of Mt Taranaki within the national park. We have 11 rooms that can accommodate up to 27 guests. We offer bed and breakfast, a small cafe, and a set 3-course evening meal. There is no self-catering or BYO (Bring your own beverage) allowed. The lodge is fully licensed and our bar offers a good variety of drinks. Each guest room has been meticulously crafted in a Swiss Alpine style - truly unique. Our two lounges invite to relax and socialise in this safe National Park environment. On colder days, our wood fires keep you warm and cosy. The nicest walks in Egmont National Park start right at our doorstep, with a variety of short walks for everyone to more demanding tramps/climbs for the advanced hikers and climbers. Since 1896 this lodge has been a part of Mt Taranaki and its long history is preserved in our Lodge Book, which is a treasure in itself and keeps you engaged for hours. Enjoy an authentic Alpine experience, here at Dawson Falls Mountain Lodge.

We stayed for a night, and had the evening meal and breakfast at the lodge. Excellent hosting - nothing too much trouble. The food was excellent too. What unique accommodation and mountain setting....we loved it! Well done to host Dean and his team.

Called in for a coffee between walks and both our mocha's were bitter and very disappointing. Chocolate consisted of a spoon of hot chocolate powder and there were no marshmallows. For $4.50 each, just not good enough.

Taking friends on their first visit to the region we were disappointed to find no service at cafe despite sign saying open. Three other groups also walked away. A great loss of business and people with a negative experience. Could be a real draw card in that unique setting.
