My husband and I have just returned from 2 nights in the Woodman's Hut, the most off grid of the Lazy Duck's huts. Somehow, despite normally being glued to our phones, we coped with the lack of electricity or phone signal and enjoyed each other's...More

We are currently en route home from a wonderful 4 nights stay at the Lazy Duck hostel, which we hired exclusively for our family of 6. Long drive for us but so worth it.. We all love this place for many reasons: beautiful scenery, fabulously...More

Thanks Lisa and all the family. It was great to see your three generations taking equal pleasure in returning to the Cairngorms National Park and to the tiny part of it which accommodates the Lazy Duck. Once again, duck time on the pond here was...More

Three nights here in this idyllic location in The Ducks nest, nearly off grid cabin. What we found was comfort, quiet, cosy, clean and an oasis from everyday life. Whilst we are a pair of townies.. we got to grips with the compost toilet and...More

Visited here last year for 2 nights. What a place this is. The indoor stove was already lit upon arrival and a member of the team gave us a tour of the grounds and info on how to sort the fire wood. The cabin itself...More

It's great that it all worked out for you both and thanks for the commendation. You are right in that so many folk love the porch/ deck, veranda or what you will. Some tell us that on a warm day they can wake up in...More

We stayed for three nights in total at The Duck's Nest cabin, having only booked for two at first. The site is a really peaceful, secluded location but still near enough for Aviemore and the other Speyside/Northern Cairngorm attractions to be accessible. You get a...More

Thanks so much for your kind words. You were our ideal guests, appreciative of the greater and the smaller ways in which we attempt to make folk feel welcome and as secluded as they want to be. You will have seen that the male waterfowl...More
