Nice staff, decent enough restaurant favoured by the locals on the weekend, free parking at rear. The rooms were spacious and comfortable though plain and outmoded: one almost expected Miss Marple from the 1960s films to show up. Not quite nice enough to be called quaint, but certainly a decent enough place to stay overnight. The full Scottish breakfast was... More

We visited the hotel purely for dinner. I had a roast dinner and my partner had the Conon Bridge Burger. Both meals were only just on the good side of ok. The vegetables with the roast dinner were overdone and tasteless. The burger was good but nothing special. The restaurant was a bit dated and tired. I'm sure you could... More

We spend an evening there and had dinner. The meals were very good, especially the vegetarian burger and the haggis-filled chicken. The waiter was a bit clumsy, but not to an extent it would have bothered us. Booking a table didn't seem necessary, although we were there during the weekend.

Really friendly and efficient staff and excellent breakfast sadly let down by absolutely dire mattresses and really bad mould in the bathrooms. Some serious maintenance needs to be done to encourage guests to return. 5 star to the food and staff 1 star to the bedrooms.

Arrived and shown to rooms by friendly lady. All good till going for shower as no hot water can come through as knob has been removed. Had to then go along corridor and use shared bathroom which was fine. Returned to go to bed and discovered the sheets were still a bit damp from laundry! Breakfast time was ok until... More

We did not stay in this hotel but only went for dinner on two consecutive nights. The six people in my group all were very pleased with the food, service and value. We were there in time for the early bird special Thursday. This consisted of several options on menu with either starter or desert included for 12.95. Very good... More

Stayed one night as a stop off on the way to John O'Groats. Hotel feels very dated, bedroom very poor with a decidedly dodgy ensuite with black mould in the shower. Tiny portable TV (which did however work), ill fitting curtains and a general feeling of stepping back 30 years or so. Nothing 'quaint' about this. The evening barmaid was... More

After reading reviews on the train I was very apprehensive ... Pleasantly surprised not that bad! It is being refurbished . Work in progress... Our room was clean and pleasant. We were hours early as we were going to a concert, this was not a problem... Given our room at 10am👍 on return the bar was shut but when I... More

Very basic pub accommodation with scruffy rooms. The shower was dirty and the en-suite looked like it had been installed as a DIY job with pipe work and wires hanging down. Noise from the bar was intrusive until late with loud music. This felt like a pub with rooms rather than a hotel focused on guests. Friendly staff and a... More

Stayed overnight with work colleagues. Stunned when told my bathroom was down the corridor and had to share with other guests. Looked in bathroom and was shocked beyond belief that the hotel actually wanted vuests to use this. Ceiling falling in. Dirt ingrained in shower curtain. It should be condemned for health and safety reasons. Room number 4 was just... More
