On arrival the room seemed to be quite clean but then I found a long dark hair on the sink (I'm practically bald!) and when I went to the shower found the remains of some blue gel on the shower wall (I'm guessing at cleaner - I hope!). There was also a Chlorine like smell in bathroom - thought I... More

I stayed here for one night after feeling ill on the way home. I checked into my room at 4:30pm and paid £65 for a King Size room. The room had just been painted and there was a very strong smell of fumes but it looked nice. Feeling unwell I went straight to bed to try and recover, only to... More

We arrived on a Saturday evening and asked for a table for 5. We ordered drinks and, shortly afterwards, ordered 5 starters and 5 main courses. Firstly, the lemonade stand ordered by 2 of our party was off - tasted like soda water, as if the pump in the dispenser required changing, so we asked for those to be changed.... More

We stopped in for a late lunch at a very quiet time, in fact we were the only ones in the restaurant. The staff were delightful and the food delicious. We were glad to see that there was a funeral party in the large room off the bar. Also to hear that the new owners have plans to reorganise the... More

After a long day travelling the motorways North and an hour or so on a narrowboat we moored at Carnforth and set off in search of dinner. Unfortunately being a Monday the nearest pub the Canal Turn was closed for food and so we headed off for the centre and after a quick comparison of menus we ended up at... More

Visited for evening meal with family Saturday night. In desperate need of refurbishment. We contemplated leaving, but kids hungry, so stayed. Ordered 4 meals, 4 drinks. Served by 4 different people. Waited 40 minutes to arrive, and were sadly underwhelming for price tag. No garnish with any meals, no presentation, drinks were incorrect on delivery, portions were small. No one... More

I have eaten here many times in the past and been happy but I'm afraid that tonight's meal was rubbish. Sauces when they came - came after we'd finished our main courses, many dishes arrived not as described on the menu. Some food was overcooked, all were served late.

The welcome was warm and friendly but the upcoming refurbishment is long overdue. Some bedroom / bathroom fittings were well past their use-by date! We had snacks for Sunday night and we not impressed. Breakfast was significant in quantity but mediocre in quality and we marvelled as to how toast could be served so limp. Breakfast is charged as an... More

Looking for an inexpensive place to stay this fitted the bill. The room was in an annex and hence very quiet despite being next to a major road. The staff were very friendly and though hosting a Ann Summers party with attendant girls and half naked guys the bar was still quiet and served great pints. Leaving early on the... More
