This is a very well presented establishment with lovely staff. Unfortunately I’m only marking it an average experience at a friends birthday. The food was tasty but no offer of any accompanying sauces to go with the roast dinners and the meat was very dry. Small portions roast potatoes too. The function room was nice to look at but we were all very hot. The drinks prices are absolutely ridiculous for Ashton. That was really annoying. The DJ cover provided were absolutely dreadful. Apparently a stand in.

My wife and I stayed for one night in July 2019, as we were meeting family there. Our room was immaculate, and the service from staff and the food was great, and easily met all our needs. We would certainly stay here again

Stayed for one night. Hotel was lovely and staff very friendly and helpful. Our room was very clean and perfect for what we wanted. The metro was a short walk away and made the centre of Manchester very accessible. The breakfast in the morning was freshly cooked and the staff went out of their way to accommodate our 9 year old niece. Our room was at the front and although we had our window open, the noise from outside was minimal. This was my first visit to Manchester and will definitely return and stay at The Broadoak. I would recommend this hotel to friends and family.

Lovely hotel With a hunting lodge decor. Our room was light bright and airy, with a lovely bathroom. Very clean and tidy. I had a very good undisturbed nights sleep. Breakfast was cooked fresh and to a very good standard. Although we were too late for an evening meal the menu looked very good. Only downside was being unable to eat any food from outside in our room. Due to hospital visiting times we ended up eating a sandwich in Tesco car park!

In my reviews I try to emphasize the positives before going into the negatives. So many reviews are at one end of the star rating or the other, and rarely is life so simple. In this case I am going all out with five stars across the board. This is not because it is perfect in every way (what establishment could be?), but I do believe that the owners and staff do everything in their power to make your stay the best they possibly can. It is everything you imagine a long established English pub should be. The ambiance of the pub itself is Old World charm; warm and inviting. The location, which is well outside of the town center means that it seems to have a regular, local clientele. This adds to the welcoming atmosphere. There are special nights arranged for entertaining (musical performances, etc.) and food specials, such as "curry or chippy nights". There are large areas on the main floor that are opened up and reconfigured for the entertainment. As incongruous as it may seem, on the weekend we stayed there, it was a visiting "punk" group. This shows that the pub's management is not afraid to reach out to fans of all genres. The concert was over and the pub cleared out fully by midnight, which for guests is probably important. Staying in a B & B that is also a pub tends to be noisier in the evenings, but I assume that anyone booking the accommodation understands this at the outset. The manager did warn us that the evening may be a little noisier than usual, but we were out anyway, and when we arrived back that night everything was back to it's usual quiet. The guest rooms are modern, bright, and very comfortable. Breakfast is served until 10.00am, and consists of everything from cereal to a "full English", featuring locally sourced products. Very tasty! We had asked if we might invite two guests to dine with us on our final morning, and we were told to go ahead without hesitation. I was fully prepared to pay for the extra meals that morning, but no charge was forthcoming. This is a prime example of how you will be treated here. I cannot say enough about how well we were looked after. All of the staff, from one end of our experience to the other were friendly, accommodating, and genuinely seemed to care about us. This could be the friendliest staff overall that we have ever experienced in our travels throughout North America or the UK (we live in Canada). I cannot stress how highly I recommend the Broadoak, and as I stated at the outset, this is five stars across the board.
