This is a small traditional hotel in a hamlet just outside L'Espluga di Francoli. Our room was a reasonable size with a Juliette balcony ( there are no rooms with full balconies). The shower room was a good size and well appointed. It is all very clean and well managed. The restaurant serves excellent food. We were on half board...

Arriving in L’Espluga de Francoli was rather like entering ‘Stepford’; the advice given at the i did not transpire into the expectation; in fact, it was cras in as much that, despite our request for information re hotels and a place for dinner, we were never told about the excellent abodes that existed outside the drab town of L’Espluga de...

we were heading for the Poblet Monastery minimalist luxury 'lodge' and chose the above instead, because the former lacked air conditioning in the spartan stylist minimalist rooms. The HMdelC reminded us of mediterranean 1960's historic architecture. The gentleman in charge was articulate, no nonsense and very prompt as to what he offered. The room a bit old fashioned bit bathroom...

We stayed at the Hotel la Masia del Cadet for one night whilst travelling across Spain with our Jack Russell terrier. The location is idyllic; on the Cister Route and close to the Poblet monastery. We walked around the peaceful village and enjoyed the panoramic views and a lovely sunset. There is ample parking. We arrived in mid-September and were...

We turned up unannounced as the Villa Engracia apartment we had booked next door was a huge disappointment. The outdoor terrace is delightful and the room was more than adequate. We had heard a lot about the restaurant and perhaps were expecting too much. My meal was good but my wife´s shoulder of lamb was overcooked with very little meat...

Rustic hotel which was worth finding near to the monastery in poblet. Could only stay one night but would have loved to stay longer as the staff, rooms and food were the best we've had since we arrived in Spain. Couldn't say enough about the place. Definitely stay for at least one night and enjoy the incredible food.

This 'silence hotel' is worth its name; no traffic at all and beautiful sunset and sunrise. Some of the neighbouring hotels were closed for the winter. Nice quality lunch with a fine wine; the kitchen is known for its excellent quality. The room we had was spacious with two quality beds, two windows and heating and AC. The latter you...

We have been three times there to spend 3 day stay, they have a good offer - sleep, breakfast and dinner - and it is really worth. Last time we went with our little daughter, and they helped us with everything, bed, and so on. This year they have swimming pool - it is the one of the hotel next...

We stayed at Masia del Cadet for five nights. The location is perfect for visiting the often-neglected SW corner of Catalonia, home of vineyards and Romanesque architecture. Although the hotel is out in the country, it's an easy drive to Tarragona, to beautiful monasteries of the Cistertian order and medieval hill towns. There are lots of hiking trails as well....

This is a wonderful country retreat. Somewhat difficult to find but well worth the trouble. The only problem is that rooms are not air conditioned and even in the hills of Spain this can be a problem in the summer. Family-run, and early breakfasts not available. Restaurant is good, not outstanding.
