Pros: Next to the beach, stunning views, lovely surroundings, staff were lovely and helpful. Great location. Very relaxing stay. Cons: Very dated, Facilities and Decor need upgrading badly (TV was non-existent and very limited, lifts were out of order, decor was tired, food was dreadful in the canteen). No entertainment (ie not even music). Everything ran smoothly. No issues. Just needs some thought and money/investment and it will be an amazing hotel. If what you are after is a quiet, relaxing retreat where you eat out every day and night, this is for you.

Well ended up here by courtesy of Ana of the Roc Golf Trinidad next door. We were booked, Our All Inclusive Holiday Booked through Easy Jet Holidays ! That’s for another review. When we arrived at the Trinidad it was closed for refurbishment. Ana made the calls and told the Bahia see would sort our bill. Luckily Ana was in the hotel as they were due to open 6 days time. Bahia Serena didn't do all inclusive but did full board, a call form Bahia to Ana resulted in telling us to charge all drinks etc. to our room number and she would sort it. Haven't been all inclusive before but I think it includes local beer and wine/sprites. But no one queried charging to our room, local beer was ok the Bombay sapphire doubles gin went down well and the */10 Euros wine very nice. So to the Bahia Serena, manly catering for the Spanish elderly group travel in the winter months. Over all the hotel was clean and tidy. Our room was cleaned every day and fresh towels / toiletries if you needed. Reception was very helpful with all our query's. We had an apartment that was fine as it gave an area to lounge with TV and bed settee small kitchenette, with a fair size balcony, as well as a double bed room & balcony and fairly spacious bathroom with a shower that actually had some pressure. The food was all buffet style and with a fair selection of hot and cold food quality not fantastic but OK. Amazing how much the little Spanish ladies could put away. Lots of different types of bread and free wine at lunch, not that that mattered to us we were charging all our drinks to our room anyway. There was some form of entertainment in the afternoons and in the evenings Spanish of course, line dancing seams to have taken over dance floors. Nice bar with TV for us football fans. No water in the outside pools, understandable, but had a small indoor pool that was open. There was some ground works to the paving around the pools but not intrusive. All inclusive included transfers of course I knew even after my prolonged telephone conversation with Easy Jet Holiday’s UK that the taxi for our return to the airport would not be told about the change of Hotel, so we walked , luckily just next door to to be picked up.

One of the worst hotel I have ever stopped in there is limescale in the shower and the cleaning staff were leaving the floors dirty.on entering hot plate had been left on tv hardly works the food is horrendous hardly any choose and that is because they were just catering for the spanish people. the sofa bed is very uncomfortable and when u change it back to a sofa itself it is still uncomfortable might as well not have one in there. The staff are very ignorant and very rude 100% would not recommend this hotel its says it a 4 star hotel and it has a rating of 3.5 but my opinion I wouldnt even give it 1 star

Stayed here for a week. This is a Spanish holiday destination. As far as I know we were the only English family there but I loved that. The staff were friendly helpful and helped us with our spanish speaking. Very clean hotel. Our room was cleaned everyday. Good buffet breakfast lunch and dinner. If you want a real spanish holiday then this is a good place but make an attempt to speak the language. Very happy with service in bars around pool also all the area x 1st class.

This hotel was very nice, pool area was spacious with hardly any sun beds used, also indoor pool. Food was ok but catered more for the Germans and Spanish. The room was very spacious with kettle, fridge and hob and plates etc if you wanted to cook yourself lol. There was a nice little bar/ restaurant for good English pub style food and very reasonable. Also a good cocktail bar which would bring you melon, nuts and a small slice of cake, gratis.

Hotel was very clean and lovely being so close to the beach. Plenty of seating areas lovely if you just want to sit back and relax but food (breakfast) was average a few friendly staff members but it is a very Spanish place and most of the staff didn’t understand a word of English. There was no entertainment for the children even though mini club is advertised it was only open a couple of times and no kids entertainment in the evening and only two evenings of the 10 that we stayed they had entertainment which was a Spanish singer. The bars in the evening were shut and no snack bar available at all which was a great shame would go back but would fine a different hotel which is more child friendly.

I will start with the positives. We had a decent sized one bedroom apartment.although it was quite dated it was clean and we had an amazing sea view. The room was cleaned every day and fresh towels provided, however the balcony was not swept at all and there wasn't a brush in the apartment so that I could do it myself. Now for the negatives .The food was not good, there was limited choice and it was always served cold.,We are not fussy eaters and we did try most things but the quality was not good and the holding temperature was well below 63 degrees which is the lowest food can served safely. The restaurant staff were not friendly .I think better training is needed so that guests feel welcome. Overall we had a good holiday in Roquettes De Mar and I would return but not to this hotel.

Decided to have a family holiday with my Wife, Youngest Step-Daughter and her family (Hubby and and 3 children in the Sun. Did not really want to go to a little Britain, so looked around for a more 'Spanish' than 'British' populated resort, We Chose the Bahia Serena mainly on budget and it's location right on the Sea Front. We booked 2 Apartments, (One for my me, my wife and eldest Grand - Son) and One for my Stepdaughter, Her Husband and her two youngest children. We requested that the were Located adjacent if possible. On arrival, we were greeted by Isabella and checked in with no problems and found that we had been allocated apartments 513 and 514. the apartments themselves were clean and tidy and well presented. We were not expecting the Hilton and they certainly weren't shabby. The Apartments could not have been better situated, having a lovely view overlooking the Pool to the the centre, a clear view of the Ocean to the left and Mountains in the distance to the right. The balconies were lovely and we spent most evenings (after the Children had gone to bed), relaxing and chatting with a couple of drinks. It really was idyllic! We had breakfast included in the deal and there was something for most of us, there. We ate out on an evening and found 2 great places just outside the front door of the Hotel. Cullar Tapas Bar and Pizzeria Firenze. Both had extremely friendly and helpful staff and served great food. Would definitely return to Bahia Serena and Roquetas de Mar.

We have just got home from a 14 day stay at the Bahia Serena. We stayed on a self-catering basis so I can't comment on the food served in the hotel. We had a superb room overlooking the pristine beach, a huge balcony area that you can access from the bedroom or the lounge. Kitchen facilities in the room are pretty basic but we managed to rustle up some half decent meals. Although if you don't want to cook or spend loads of money on expensive meals out you could easily eat enough food for free at most of the Tapas bars,as long as you order drinks. We would like to thank a young man on reception called Manuel who was always incredibly friendly and helpful. The rest of the staff were nice, but if I was the hotel manager I would get Manuel to help train the rest of the team up to his high standard. All in all we had a lovely time.
