Just returned from a good 10 day holiday at this resort. I travelled with Tui with my parents and my 2 year old toddler. On arrival after a long flight delay we were greeted with a very warm welcome from reception and was told to head straight to the dinning room for lunch and when we have eaten we would be allowed to check in to our room. Check in was really fast and easy, a member of staff also took our cases up to our room. On entering the room we was slightly disappointed as the room was on the small Side for 3 adults and a toddler. Once the pull out bed and cot was out there wasn’t room for any walking around. We did ask reception for an upgraded room but was told they were fully booked. We made do with the room. The room was very clean and was cleaned every day by there brilliant cleaners. Everything worked in the room and bathroom and had no problems during our stay. The balconies are really small so it’s not somewhere a family could sit during the day or night but it did have a good view of the pool. We could hear though in the morning and late afternoon maintance going on around the hotel from our room which was a bit of putting. The food was really good in the buffet main restaurant and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful and friendly. There was plenty of food choice for breakfast, lunch and dinner and they also had a small kids buffet section. The waiters emptied your table very quickly and was always on hand to get your drinks. We also ate at the Asian and Italian once each and both weren’t great experiences. The Asian restaurant served lovely food but the service was terrible. We didn’t start eating our mains till gone 8 pm , this is far to late when you have a toddler. None of the staff had a clue what was going on which was a shame as it put us off going a second time. The Italian restaurant was the opposite, there service was brilliant and very quick but the food wasn’t great and didn’t have much taste to it. The snack bar next to the pool was ok and was handy if you didn’t want to go to the main restaurant for lunch. They had ice creams outside all day which my toddler loved. There was two bars at this hotel, one in the lobby which was a nice little bar with plenty of tables and a relaxed atmosphere. My family often sat here in the evening as the nights were still chilly. This bar also served really nice coffee, better coffee then the buffet restaurant. The pool bar which had a lot more table and chairs were s perfect location to the main entertainment and mini disco. The drinks they served was good. They also had a self service area which had juices, fizzy drinks, beer, sangria and hot drinks which was very handy to have. I got my warm milk from here every evening but my daughters bottle. We never watched the evening entertainment as it was on to late for my daughter but I could hear it in the evenings from my balcony and it sounded like they had some good artists on. The mini disco was good and every night the children got to meet the beaver. My daughters favourite time was at the mini disco but I found it very repetive, the same 5 songs every evening. My daughter couldn’t attend the childrens club on her own due to her age but she would often pop in and out through out the day and the staff always tried to include her. The kids play area does need a massive revamp as it’s getting tired looking. The kids splash park was good aswell as the mains pool but they were so cold, a heated one would have been brilliant. Lots of sun lounges and beds around the pool but could have done with some tables. The hotel led straight on to a quiet beach. There isn’t much to do at all outside of this complex. Lots of bars and restaurants are shut which is a shame. There is a spar across from the hotel just in case you forget anything. The whole hotel is spotless but there is lots of mosquitoes around, you can’t escape them. Overall it was a good holiday but I wouldn’t return just because of the hotels location. If your after a quiet break then this hotel would be perfect.…
We have just come back from a week at this hotel and it was one of the best hotels that I have stayed at. It was very clean, friendly and helpful staff, nice food and the pools are amazing. The lazy river is fun, a pool that gradually gets deeper, a fairly deep bubble pool, a small round baby pool and a splash park which is fantastic for the kids (and adults) 😊. The only downside to this hotel is it's location, its surroundings are very quiet, I feel most bars and restaurants have not fully opened back up from COVID. There is a beach opposite the hotel but it's not the best of beaches, it's very pebbley but we still enjoyed a couple of hours on it (lots of big waves to see). There was a tracker coming by in a morning laying sand so if your going towards the end of summer the sand may have been fully laid and the small pebbles may no longer be an issue. There is also no boat trips nearby, our rep said it would be over an hour's drive to get to a boat trip which was slightly disappointing. To summarise, if all your wanting from your holiday is to stay in the hotel pool area, all inclusive and enjoy some family time I would definitely book this hotel, like I say, the hotel is immaculate, they can't do much about the location. ** Just to add, my son has a dairy allergy and there was no vegan alternatives to the ice-cream just a lemon ice lolly…
Visited the hotel for 3 nights 19-22 May. We had never been to Spain before but the deal was so good and the length of time fit our busy schedule perfectly so we took a chance! We are so glad we did, the hotel itself is lovely, very clean and well thought out. The staff are so friendly and always happy to help, they made such a fuss of our little girl too, we felt very welcome. Our room was comfortable and secure, and cleaned daily. The mini bar and toiletries were restocked daily too. The pools were quite cold with it being May, but we never had trouble finding a sun lounger and it never felt over crowded. Our little one used the kids club a couple of times, she made cookies, did crafts, and met Proty the beaver, and we got to relax a bit. We felt totally safe leaving her with the staff in the kids club, which is so important, I wouldn’t leave her if I was even 1% unsure. They were fab! Splash park was equally appreciated, she loved it, even if it was a bit cold but that is just the time of year. The only little downside to the hotel really is the food, it was ok - breakfast was the best meal of the day, we agreed. But we didn’t much enjoy the lunch or dinner. There is choice, but the food is not great and I’m not a fussy eater but one night I just had bread, cured meats and some cheese because nothing else looked appetising. We didn’t starve though! And all in all we had a fantastic time! One thing to note is that there seems to be A LOT of mosquitoes about. My husband got bitten so much that after we came home this afternoon he went to the walk in clinic and was given antibiotics for an infection. So my advice, take some strong insect repellent!…
Visited this hotel again for the 3/4th time after bringing the children as teenagers. It is still of very high standard. The hotel is immaculate as is the pool and all outdoor areas. The staff work so hard and are forever cleaning and working so hard. We stayed in a beautiful room with a fantastic view. The room is serviced daily and your fridge is replenished with soft drinks and fresh orange juice. You will not go hungry in this hotel as breakfast, lunch then dinner is served in the main restaurant up until 10 pm. You can also have continental breakfast and lunch, followed by pastries at the poolside outdoor bar area. From 11pm there are always freshly made sandwiches at the indoor bar if you feel peckish. All of the food is of a high standard and varied with plenty of show cooking. You cannot fault the service of all the staff. You are welcomed into the main restaurant and have waiter service for drinks on arrival each day. Osse has outstanding customer service and was always very welcoming along with Elenor and all of the staff. Nothing is too much trouble. The poolside outdoor bar staff were also very pleasant along with the indoor reception bar. The beer is Estrella and the wines are divine. Couldn’t fault any of the drinks and plenty of cocktails and non-alcoholic drinks too. The pool area is great and plenty of sun loungers. The lazy river and pool were also superb and very refreshing. There is entertainment each night of a good standard and plenty for the children too. During the day there are lots of activities and by the outdoor bar area , pleasant music is played throughout the day. The spa and indoor swimming pool is a must and plenty of treatments are available. There are lots of indoor areas to relax and have a drink with indoor water features. Outside hotel is very safe as on the promenade and you can walk for miles. There is a separate section for cyclists. Plenty of bars and restaurants. All in all a fabulous hotel to get away from it all and have a beautiful relaxing break. Will definitely be returning once again and would highly recommend. Thanks to Luis and All the Staff. …
Not the hotels fault but we were Waiting for 45 minutes to check in as 3 flights had arrived at the same time travelled with TUI We have been here many times before and had asked for a pool view room as the majority are but I am afraid on this occasion we were disappointed we were given a room at the side of the hotel looking out over a skip and where the generator was going all day and night and we had to look at another grotty hotel next door playing load music. I did ask to have our room changed but they would not assist with that the gentleman behind reception did not even look at us instead spoke to the young girl in Spanish to deliver the message to us. I phoned down to speak with him as I
We arrived on 12th May, we were welcomed by huge queues out of the door of the hotel as guests from our flight and another from the UK arrived at the same time. The staff however were welcoming and polite and we checked into a beautiful room with pool and ocean views! I recommend the suite upgrade! POSITIVES: -Food: not a lot for kids but we made the best of it. A LOT of fish options so if you like seafood then this is place for you! -Drinks: plentiful and lots of options! - Staff: polite! What more could you ask for? - the kids throughly enjoyed the kids club and even asked to go most days! NEGATIVES: -MOSQUITOES!!! They are absolutely rife in this hotel! I don’t know many guests who haven’t suffered horribly with bites!!! Even people who don’t normally get bitten have commented that they’ve been had! I’ve spent a fortune in the pharmacy since being here on creams and preventatives and nothing has worked… this is a big problem and has seriously ruined this holiday for me! Advice… bring any mosquito repellent known to man in your luggage!!!! - Half a dozen judgemental geriatrics who just like a moan about the fact that there are children present… in a family hotel heaven forbid! Yes I took my 9 and 6 year old out of school for a family holiday just after the two year pandemic we have all endured… sue me! We were complained at by an older lady as my daughter was squealing in delight in the lazy river and she felt this was inappropriate! Not the hotels fault but just to warn you, you may be looked down on by the regulars if your child is having fun. Evening entertainment is a bit hit and miss. We heard mixed reviews about the Italian restaurant but personally didn’t have a bad experience so make your own mind up! All in all the hotel is lovely, clean and staff can’t do enough for you. The mosquitos problem has however solidified the reason as to why I won’t be returning here. Thank you Marina and Paco for your wonderful attentive bar service!…
Rooms We stayed in a suite with a spa bath on the balcony. The spa bath was great… it heated up straight away and no issues with water temp or pressure. We had a sea view which was brilliant. The room itself was nice enough but a little tired and the furniture could do with an update. We were in a suite and had two TVs which worked independently of each other this was great with the kids. The housekeeping was excellent. Cleaned our room every day and soft drinks topped up daily. Facilities The kids loved the pool but it is COLD like really COLD! You aren’t allowed archer inflatables in the main pool - but little kids are allowed small rings. The spa area looked lovely but I didn’t try this out because of having the kids with us. Food AMAZING! Everything was just incredible! The food is this hotels best feature really. Breakfast is 8am-11am great choice if cooked options plus pastries / fruit etc. lunch you can have in the restaurant or at the pool bar. Dinner is a buffet but there’s also a choice of 2 a la carte restaurants (Italian and Asian). The Asian was delicious- Italian was good too. Local area There are a few bars and restaurants but not masses to do locally. This is a good holiday if you just want to stay by the pool, eat and chill out. One thing I want to mention is the staff and cleanliness make this hotel! The staff are so friendly and the cleaners are constantly mopping and sweeping. It was spotless our whole stay.…
Hotel spotless in every area. Lovely rooms . Staff friendly and efficient. Food good not 5 star. Restaurant dress code ignored mainly by men which was a shame for a 5 star hotel. lovely outside eating area looking over the sea. Pool area busy with children not sure why so many children as not school holidays. No adults only pool area. The area is lovely outside the hotel with long walks along the promenade for miles. Tried the Asian restaurant as we love Asian food it was dreadful we could not eat it and left after one mouthful. Overall we had a lovely holiday and met some really nice people here.
My family and I arrived at the Protur Roquetas Hotel & spa on the 5th May. We all found the Hotel clean and very welcoming. The Food in the restaurant was lovely, plenty of chose and high quality. The waiter service was excellent, nothing was to much trouble. All areas of the Hotel were immaculate. We didn’t want for anything. The rooms were very spacious, clean and the beds were very comfortable. A special mention to the manger of customer relations Juan, who would always seek you out and have a friendly chat and check everything was ok. He was very helpful with any request we had and nothing was to much trouble for him. We will definitely be going again next year. Thank you to all the staff.
Beautiful hotel been here before very clean, staff amazing, food great, pool areas lovely. Very confusing dress code for restaurant. Sign says long trousers etc for men in the evening but people wearing whatever they liked. Work going on which was noisy and started early in the morning. Think that is completed now. We were given a room which we heard music until late. Asked to be moved the next day. Given a beautiful room but we were put even closer to the evening entertainment which was very loud.Hadn't realised the entertainment was outside in the pool bar area now - it used to be in an area under the main entrance so if you wanted an early night it was nice and peaceful , probably moved to outdoor due to covid. So if you are booked to go here and prefer some early nights- take some earplugs and some smart clothes just in case they enforce the dress code. We now need to catch up on some sleep.…
