I had a sea-facing room which had 2 king-sized beds. Very clean and just what I needed for a 4-day break. There was also a sofa in the room which probably opened to another bed. The bathroom had a walk-in shower and more than enough towels. My balcony faced the pool below, complete with waterfall, and the ocean. Very comfortable. Wendy on reception was particularly helpful when I discovered I had forgotten my charger. The area is quiet, more residential than touristy. But a short walk along the front promenade takes you to various bars and restaurants near to the marina. It is out of season, so extra quiet. It is about 30 minutes from the airport and cost just 45 euros. The breakfast is self-service and ample. Great selection of fruit, pastries, hot and cold. There are strict Covid hygiene rules in place, but that's good. I would definitely recommend this hotel and will be returning in the future.

As we live in the Costa Blanca and air travel being as it is at the moment, we decided on a "staycation" at the Don Angel around 3 hours south of us. We were fortunate to find the last space in the car park outside the hotel. Check-in was very efficient and quick with a very friendly receptionist. The room was a decent size with two large beds and a partial sea view from the balcony. Plenty of storage space in the wardrobe which also contained a small safe (€17 for a week to hire) There was also a small fridge with two complimentary small bottles of water inside. The bathroom was spacious with a selection of toiletries - a nice touch. The bar and restaurant had plenty of seating with really friendly, helpful, hard working staff - a credit to the Hotel! We were there on a B & B basis. Now the negatives - The wifi was temperamental - worked most of the time but then would go off regularly. We had a terrible smell (dirty drains?) every morning which was very unpleasant to say the least. There was a reasonable choice at breakfast, however things seemed to be laid out in a haphazard fashion i.e. bowls for cereal were at the far end of the cooked food and the dried fruit for cereal (apricots, prunes etc.) were even further away beside the meats and cheeses. Also, the hot food selection seldom was - lukewarm if you were lucky!! We had dinner in the restaurant - once in the buffet which was terrible!! Poor choice and again, barely warm with no idea what was in any of the dishes as no signage. We also had dinner in the bar restaurant a couple of times which was ok, but again, barely warm? We felt the food had been lying in the kitchen waiting for a waiter to collect when they were finished serving other people? Couldn't fault the staff though - they work so hard and are very friendly. The Hotel itself has seen better days and is definitely in need of refurbishment in many areas. The location is perfect for the beach and there are a few bars and restaurants about a 15 minute stroll along the seafront, to the right. The town is within easy walking distance too. We had a nice visit but it could have been better! Might not return ......

We arrived and checked in very easily, reception had a good level of English, our room had to large beds and plently of storage, small balcaony with a partial sea view and patio furniture. Bar and Dining room staff were freindly and polite offering attentative service. The pool area was lovely, hotel spotlessly clean throughout, we went on the 14th Oct 2019 for a week and there were plenty of sunbeds, seating available in all areas. We stayed on the B&B option, good if not interesting choices for breakfast, something for everyone's pallets, and fresh ommelets/pancakes cooked at the weekend to order. We ate in the bar a couple of times, very nice food although not always with the right accompaniments as listed on the menu it was still tasty. Our room was cleaned everyday and new towels also everyday. The entertainment was very Spanish with locals visiting nightly for a spot of ball rooom dancing except on Sunday when it was Salsa, this was very busy and great fun to watch, wish we had learnt how to Salsa! There are bars within walking distance down the prom as you turn right out of the pool gate, about 15 minute gentle stroll, some of the bars shut up at 5ish and re open at 8pm, there is still a decent choice. Turn left out of the hotel reception and the town is a 15 minute gentle stroll with plenty of shops, cafe's etc. We never went to town at night though and never at there so can't comment. separate WI-FI for 5th floor but still touch and go, Wi-Fi great in reception. The only shopping we did was to have a look around the market, mainly fruit and clothes but really vibrant. If you want authentic fish tapas, walk towards the castle after the marina, very traditional. Learn a bit of Spanish too, it will help! Our room had a fridge wih 2 bottles of water when we arrived, no mini bar and water not replenished, it was nice to have a fridge though.

We have just had another lovely visit to this hotel. We find it very comfortable and friendly and will definitely stay again. The staff are all very nice and helpful and it is lovely to sit and relax with a drink by the pool. Several nice bars and restaurants within walking distance and if you like the beach then it is just outside the door.

Some of the negative reviews stating that there are no restaurants within walking distance are nonsense. Turn right and right again from the rear, 12 minutes, there are at least 6 and left there is one chiringuito 15 minutes away. The decor may be dated but it is irrelevant, everything works perfectly well including excellent, shower, air con and wifi. Could do with more hanging space for towels. Receptionist was friendly, no English, but so what. The beds, two doubles were comfy, and the view was fantastic. Breakfast was iffy, scrambled eggs more like soup, not a great choice of fruit and sugar free yogurts. Pool area was good, pool was small but pretty and the beach was 50 metres away anyway. Excellent value for money.

Hell hole full of Spanish the little woman that's a waitress was really nasty and was reported to the manager by several people the evening waiter Jesus was they only nice one . They painted the pool area whilst we was there and couldn't use it for 5hrs . No English music .No English bars anywhere so don't even try looking.

What a lovely hotel set right on the beach at the far end of Roquetas. Check in was fine, we were early, so we went out for a drink and some tapas and when we returned our room was ready just after 1pm. Room was clean and spacious with a fantastic powerful shower. Balconly had a side sea view, which was fine, cleaners did a fantastic job all week, supply fresh towels and toiletries on a daily basis. The restaurant was so quiet and civilised (it's an adult recommended hotel, so this is probably why, no children staying at this hotel at all), food was in my opinion lovely, hot, and plentiful with a different selection on each day, the turkey was particuarly lovely and the fish was great. The bar and pool area are fantastic, infact, we have never spent this much time in the hotel bar or the pool area before, but it was so peaceful and with waiter service, with a smile, (Jesus and the other older chap, were fantastic), all the bar staff were wonderful. There was live singers on most night, spanish of course, but I expect nothing less and we thoroughly enjoyed them and loved watching the other holidaymakers dancing. The hotel is situated about a 10 minute walk from the Gran Plaza shopping centre and market and if you walk in the opposite direction, along the promenade, you come to a cluster of bars and restaurants before you reach the Fort. We loved it and will return, thank you Don Angel, your staff are a credit to you, we had a wonderful time.

We had been in Spain on holiday near torrevieja and we decided to take a night further down the coast near Almeria, opted for Roquetas de Mar. Spooted this hotel right on the beach at very reasonable price. Rooms are spacious air conditioned and WiFi is free. It looks as if the bathroons have been recently refurbished to a high standard, certainly their showers were American standard. Spacious lobby with no trouble checking in early, outside a delightful pool with bar and loungers thankfully they don't allow the latter to be reserved. The pool is replete with fountain and water curtain and it is extremely pleasant to pass a few hours at its side. The poolside has a gateway to the beach which is barely 50 feet away. All in all I was extremely pleased and only wished we were staying longer. Nb. We took the breakfast option which only added 10 euro to the nights stay.
