The hotel was very clean, rooms cleaned every day and fresh towels.the hotel was being freshen up in some areas. Plenty of choice of food. Down side snack bar 11-12.30 was left over breakfast and 4-6pm was left over from lunch with the added burger or hot dog could get cooked but had to asked was not made clear. After enquiring at reception about our air con not working we got told ,Air con does not come on till middle June as this is classed as there summer. And you get heating on this time even tho it was 25 degree in the day and at night 19 degrees,Realy needed the air con. Entertainment Started 9.30pm-midnight and is very loud can hear echoing around the hotel. It’s more geared up for over 60s and Spanish ,hardly anyone spoke English. Was good that the kids had the pool to there self, kids club wasn’t open or entertainment not sure if it’s because they don’t class May as summer season.…
Went for a long weekend with the kids last week, very reasonably priced ( 1 quibble though will mention at the end) Extremely clean and all Covid precautions taken on entering hotel, very efficient check in, went to room, very nice but the balcony had bars which was a concern for my 2 year old and his climbing! So back to reception and the lovely Marta there, who spoke perfect English, gave us another room with the larger glass style balcony. Rooms looked newly renovated very nice decor and very clean. Views are spectacular from the rooms right overlooking Nido beach and the Med sea. Pools are brilliant especially for the kids, allways something going on around the pool entertainment etc. Food was good but even after 4 days you do tend to get a little fed up with it although every night they had a different "theme". Night time entertainment was good fun also, live acts very entertaining for all. Great stay guys I highly recommend this hotel and a special mention to Marta, thank you for being so helpful with everything, brilliant kids had a great time. My only gripe is dont use the hotel parking it is €12 a day and €20 deposit for the barrier "clicker" there is plenty of parking around the hotel.…
Got a cheap deal with Ryan Air (bogf) never been to Almeira so thought why not. The hotel was better than expected, the beds are like memory foam, very comfy. Room was cleaned every day, towels etc changed daily. Not sure about other comments but carpets in hallways were like new so might of been done recently, room had marble floor tiles and was very clean, we stayed in room 621, which had the sun on the balcony from sunrise till about 1pm. Only 1 English channel on TV and that was 24hr news, I took my firestick so could watch what I wanted. The food is OK, slightly repetitive, as other have said, a lot of pork and fish, but did have rabbit stew and chicken curry every other day, but had a massive selection of salads fruit and desserts. We did eat out twice for a change, there's a Romanian restaurant about 3 miles away in a village that was simply amazing, had a rack of ribs and the biggest ox burger I've seen. Cost about €10 each way in a taxi. We visited the gran plaza shopping mall a few times, €1.30 each way on the bus, bus stop right outside of hotel and run roughly every 30min in the day, every hr in the evenings. The go karts roqueta were brilliant, go on a Friday when it's double your minutes, 14min for the price of 7. There is a games room with air hockey, pool tables, table football and a basket ball machine. Nice little gym also. Hardly anyone spoke any English but learn the basic words and they will help as much as they can. All the staff were amazing, except a chef in a red/violet jacket that looked like he took the Mickley out of guest's, There were 2 people behind the bar that were amazing, a middle aged man (about 50) in the main bar that was very friendly, my son kept on having San Francisco cocktails but he never moaned even when busy, the other was a nice lady that served us in the outside bar. Overall, I would not take my son again to Almeira/roquetas, as its too quiet, but would definitely take my partner to this hotel for a relaxing time away.…
The positives first. Good location, great view from room which was comfortable with a good bed and nice bed linen, unfortunately that is it for the positives. The hotel is in dire need of a good clean, the carpets on the corridor floors( all floors) were filthy and needed pulling up and burning!! I understand COVID has had an impact but you can’t class yourself as a 4**** hotel without at least basic cleanliness. The food was disgusting always cold, if you like pork for lunch and dinner everyday you would probably get by but if it was cooked on the griddle sometimes it was raw. They ran out of butter, no eggs at all one morning, no cappachino in the machines in the dining room thank god for the spar down the road at least I could have a crisp sandwich for my tea when I couldn’t find anything else to eat. The fruit was always good and although I don’t eat them there appeared to be some decent desserts. They didn’t do a lot of cleaning round the quiet pool but the pool man did check the water quality everyday so a big plus there. Unfortunately there was only one bar available so at times it was very crowded no social distancing whatever, and a long wait in a queue to be served, the bar staff did their best but the whole hotel was understaffed. We waited a long time for this holiday, fortunately we met some lovely people who saved what would have been an awful stay in a mediocre hotel…
Well reception was very good my room was ok clean tidy but the hall ways all wanted carpets replaced now we will go to the restaurant .most of food cold even if it came from kitchen also putting new food on to old food ran out of butter and eggs some days microwave turntable not working so you had to keep moving plate but food was a bit better fri night sat sun but still cold pool area not washed down at all beds sprayed 2to3 times a week the only bar open was where they did the entertainment at some times 15 to 20 min to get one then next day 1 to 2 but glasses where mostly hot when you got a drink they said couldn’t open inside due to government restrictions??? The out side eating area which had access to dining room was very limited with food at 4 when you had life guard checking to see if you had right band but food Mostly cold or undercooked they head chef ??? Went round in his jeans trainers and t /shirt only once did he have whites on…
Just returned from this hotel.Hotel and location good but as for the food if you like pork you can’t go wrong.Towards our last few days they had no eggs at all.One of the guests saw the chef coming back from the spar with eggs not good at all. Also ran out of butter we ended up going to the spar to buy some.Food was always Luke warm no taste what so ever.Meat was sometimes raw plates cold.Long time to get a drink because of staff shortage. We ate out 3 nights while we was there which isn’t good when you pay for all inclusive.Rooms very nice hotel clean. Two guys who sit at the gate going into pool snack bar was a pain telling us at a certain time we couldn’t get a drink until a certain time and to go round the other side of the hotel to the other bar for an all inclusive drink I thought all inclusive meant you could have anything 24 hrs.Resort very quiet but no fault of the hotel.Won’t return to this part of Spain again..…
We have just recently returned from this hotel after our holiday to Menorca was cancelled . I was a little nervous as we got near to arrival date with the lack of English reviews in 2021 and in the week before the multiple 1 star reviews from the Spanish . However our stay was not as bad as feared. The hotel is about 45 minutes transfer from the airport and check in was fine , although if a lot of guests arrived at the same time the check in queues stretched out of the door onto the street . We were on the 4th floor and couldn't argue with the room as it was spacious and large bathroom with an excellent view , there is a TV which shows 3 English channels. Downside is there were only 2 lifts working when we first arrived and because of Covid there is limited capacity in the lifts . However the hotel could do with some sprucing in general mainly in the corridors and outside paintwork. There is a lovely promenade outside of the hotel which is about 18km long . There are bars and shops all around the hotel , but sadly looks like a lot of the bars may never open because of the pandemic The hotel is very Covid safe and whilst walking around indoors are queuing at the bars and for food masks are mandatory . Staff where masks all the time . The indoor bar was closed because of Covid, which doesn't makes sense when you can walk around the indoor restaurant freely . This means you have to get drinks from the outside bar and there were incredible lines to get served with only 3 people serving . The hotel also operates a token scheme for plastic glasses which does take some getting used to but does prevent plastic glasses littering around the hotel Unfortunately most of the drinks are flat as they don't use enough C02 Entertainment was held outside and we saw 2 live acts and there were shows performed by the animation team which was so / so . At the weekend the hotel becomes a destination for Spanish families and it definitely becomes crowded and noisy particularly in the main restaurant , after that it becomes very quiet The hotel has 2 pools , the main one near the bar and the much smaller and quieter pool near the snack bar where we tended to reside The real let down for this hotel was the quality of the food. you can find something edible from 8.00 to 10.00 in the evening either at the main restaurant or snack bar. Breakfast is the best of the offerings , but quality of meals is substandard, cold mushy vegetables and the food from the grill was tough ( and on 2 occasions was served raw food from the grill) as mentioned before it can be noisy and crowded in the evening and we chose to eat on the outside patios most nights and also eat outside of the hotel towards the end of out stay .The standard of the food is definitely not of a 4 star standard On the plus side the weather was exceptional whilst we were there, I doubt we would return unless there was an exceptional price which are currently on offer until the end of the season…
Food is ok but luke warm, typical all inclusive style, there is something for everyone but nothing to rave about. Rooms are basic but clean. No tea and coffee making facilities in the room. Pool area is again ok but could do with a good clean of the concrete floors. Yes it's on the beach but if you want a bed you have to pay €5. The beach is gravel but was nice to go on. The queues at the bar are ridiculous due to shortage of staff. The indoor bar is closed due to covid. Pool towels are available but you have to pay €20 deposit each towel. They can be changed on a Monday for free or any other day at €1. Lots of Spanish come for long weekends so busy then. All nationalities there. No smoking in the hotel grounds but ok on balcony. The strip between the hotel and beach is a pleasant walk. Not much going on outside the hotel but again that's due to covid. The Spice Hut Indian restaurant in the village is amazing, other than that I can't really say there were many good places to eat. Whilst rated 4 star its more like a 3 star. Mainland Spain just isn't for us. Wouldn't come back but we did have a chilled holiday and thankful for that. …
Great location with nice walks to the nature reserve that has flamingos. Biggest let was the luke warm food and the afternoon snack bar which was the leftovers from lunch, and long queue for the bar due to not enough staff. Rooms are good and cleaned every day but don't like the long pillows.
This is an outdated hotel badly in need of maintenance and cleaning the carpet in the corridor outside our room was filthy the toilet seat broken and the corridor ceiling tiles rusted and covered in dust . The receptionist never explained anything on arrival there’s virtually no parking in the entire resort something seriously to consider, not just the hotel but surrounding area we parked over a mile from the hotel. the room was stark bare and unwelcoming, not a single picture of decorative aspect to it no coffee facilities and an empty mini bar. the seats on the terrace were filthy, there was queues for everything with almost no social distancing. Breakfast was ok however serving up diluted orange cordial instead of natural orange juice in Spain is simply not acceptable. We will never be back in this hotel or town it simply has no quality.…
