Hotel Best Sabinal garners appreciation for its well-kept amenities and its prime location, a stone's throw from the beach, which is a hit among beach lovers and those fond of a stroll along the promenade. While the vibrant atmosphere and family-oriented entertainment are highlights, guests have called out the sometimes overly loud poolside music. Rooms are commended for their cleanliness and views, though opinions on decor and maintenance vary.
Service is noted for being attentive, though occasional slow dining service has been mentioned. Travelers give mixed reviews on value, with some finding extra costs steep, yet others are content with the inclusive options available.

Detailed Reviews
Have just returned and my review is to give anyone going a heads up. All in all it's a lovely hotel and they are very Covid aware which is a plus. In the resturant there are no saucers for the cups so you have to put dirty wet spoon on table. The plates are stone cold and on several occasions so was the food. A good selection but not enjoyable when cold. On several occasions the glasses and plates were dirty. The sunbeds are plentiful but not quite long enough and not very comfortable. The service at the pool bar was very slow and not very friendly. The rooms were ok but 7 hangers for 2 people for 10 days 🤔 no drawers so practically living out of case, asked at reception for more hangers but fell on deaf ears. The bath towels were very small and just about covered the essentials. I don't think the floor of the room or the balcony was washed the whole time we were there. Would I go again? Yes but I would like to see improvements. The walls etc are very thin and several times thought there was someone using the toilet only to find out it was next door.

I am currently staying with my 14 year old son and we have spent a week here.
The hotel is very clean and the sea view rooms are breathtaking.
The room os cleaned every day and fresh towels, shower is a walk in shower with shampoo and shower gel provided.
Fridge in room and air con is great!
Pool is only quite small and gets really busy to the point you cant even swim but no matter what time you go to the pool there are always loungers and unberellas.
Food is lovely and plenty of choice. Theme nights during the week and it was really nice.
Gets really busy in restaurant and the hotel is majority Spanish and the Spanish guests are really rude and inconsiderate.
We didnt bother with evening entertainment but it was all in Spanish and started around 9.30pm until gone 11pm
Not many of the staff can speak English but we got by.
If you walk out of front of hotel a lovely little town centre with gift shops and arcades for kids.
At the back of hotel is pedestrianised and a lovely walk along the beach.
Walk left about 3k and you come to the harbour but on the way plenty of little Spanish bars and restaurants . Majority only serve sea food so perfect if that's what you like. Again the staff dont speak much English but it was fun trying to explain what we wanted.
200 yards right and a couple of restaurants that do cocktails and full English breakfast.
The Spa is really nice and relaxing. We had to pay ss wasn't all inclusive. Costs 6 euros each. No massages at the moment due to covid.
My son used the gym was ok but not the best.
Ask for sea view room as rooms at the back only look on to street and are not as nice but will be quieter as entertainment is next to pool and you can hear it with sea view room
Beach is lovely and clean and although small stone it is fine under your feet.
Overall a lovely hotel but very much catered for the Spanish guests and not English.

I am loathe to write this because I want to keep the Best Sabinal to myself. I’ve used this hotel for the last 25 years. If you want to go to Spain and embrace a ‘Spanish Holiday’ this is the place. If you want fish n chips or a pie and a pint go to Benidorm or Blackpool. The hotel have pulled out all the stops following (ongoing) pandemic and I can’t praise the staff enough. The rooms and public areas are maintained to a high standard, the food and restaurant are of a really high quality with lots of choice. It can be a bit chaotic as the hotel is predominately (90%) occupied by Spanish holiday makers. If you know Spain you will know that the Spanish don’t do things quietly, which all adds to the fun. My Spanish is improving and once the staff and local bar owners realise you are trying to make an effort they go that little bit extra to make you feel welcome. The area is not Monte Carlo or St Tropez but it has a likeable albeit sometimes ramshackle array of bars, coffee shops and some fantastic Tapas Bars, you just need to look for them.
The Best Sabinal is the best place to get involved and the best place to enjoy a ‘Spanish Holiday’

My family stayed here in August and it was just brilliant. From the weather to the hotel it was perfect. The hotel itself is very big and I believe was modernised in the last few years and it shows. Our room was small but adaquete. Massive and comfortable bed, very clean bathroom and the most stunning view of the pool and beach. We were on the 5th floor right in the middle so we hit jackpot with our room.
Our room was cleaned daily and any towels we needed changed we just left on the bathroom floor. There was complimentary water in our room and a free safe which was great for money and passports etc.
The food at the hotel was vast so no complaints there. We were with our son (5 years old) so went to breakfast when it opened around 8am and dinner at 7.30pm. we had no issues, food was hot and plenty of choice. In the evening the staff do come and ask you what drinks you would like and they are bought to you, the only downside is if you want another drink it is hard to get a member of staff to get this for you as always busy cleaning up etc.
Both pools were great. My 5 year old love the splash pool in the morning and afternoon as could watch him from the side. The main pool was perfect for us. It did get busy but wasn't an issue for us. From about 130pm to 330pm it was so quiet as everyone went in for lunch/out of the sun so we made the most of this and got our lunch everyday at the snack bar. On offer was - hotdogs, burgers, chips, toasties, crisps, nuts and olives. The drinks you can do yourself but if you'd rather a bigger cup with ice and lemon you can ask for this at the bar.
The location of the hotel is perfect if you want a wonder of an evening. We did this every night. We'd either walk along the beach or around all the shops and bars etc. Was plenty to do outside of the the hotel especially if you have little ones castor park is a perfect option for you. You buy a card and put money on it to use on the rides, this was my son's highlight of the holiday!!
The entertainment was okay. As people have mentioned before if it had some in English it would have been better but we did enjoy the singers and the acrobats, they were fantastic. Be warned though it doesn't start until about 10pm.qns goes onto around 1130 -12am.
If you use your key card there is a gate at the back of the main pool which allows you straight out across the path to the beach. We didn't use the beach as the pool suited us.
Overall, we would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone especially with children. The animation team seemed great even though we didn't use this facility they always said hello and were always happy which is the same for most of the staff even if little English was spoken we never
had an issue :)

Stayed for a week, hotel is very clean, we paid for sea view on booking and got a lovely room with a fab view of the pool and the sea. Room was spacious , shower was a large area and powerful
No bath. Beds were the most comfy I've ever had on holiday - twin room and both beds were 3/4 size with lovely long pillows. Food was very good and we especially liked the mexican and chinese nights.
I enjoyed the breakfasts too - fresh omelates, eggs and pancakes and the rest of the usual fare. My boyfriend was disappointed with the bacon and sausages on offer though which would have been his usual choice. The staff work so hard in the restaurant and we never waited long for drinks or plates clearing. The bar service was also v good.
I have to agree with previous comments about it mainly being a spanish hotel, I think english children would struggle as the kids entertainment is all in spanish. The evening entertainment also doesnt cater for english, although we still enjoyed a couple of the shows on offer. The pool area is clean and praise to the spanish that they respectfully clear away their used cups and rubbish so the sunbed area was always clean and the bins were emptied.
There were plenty of brollies and sunbeds too.
Roquetas de mar is a beautiful unspoilt place with no build up of high rise hotels, just a few and again very clean as you walk around. The promenade at the front of the hotel goes on for miles and is flat.
The only downside for us as a couple is we like a few lively pubs at night but sadly there were none in the vacinity, just a number of spanish bars which were quiet or serving food We did find an english pub but that wasnt lively and mainly served food. We also found that in the spanish bars they struggle to understand english so on occasions ordering was difficult but hey, maybe we should learn a few more spanish phrases than the ones we know ! All in all a lovely relaxing holiday.

Great location opposite the beach.
We had a large, clean room on first floor that had 2 large beds, bath with shower, (however, shower head miniscule) sunbeds on balcony. Towels changed if requested, shower gel and soap provided , room cleaned daily. We hired a kettle for €2 per day. The carpets on the landing are threadbare.
You can hear noise from both rooms either side of you and above you, the running water noises made you think someone was in your bathroom!
Unfortunately the food was disappointing, hence we only attended evening dinner twice during our stay and lunch three times. Breakfast we opted for fruit and toast. We also found the restaurant very busy, tables crammed together , found the staff at the grill area not very pleasant towards us ,despite making the effort with Spanish words!
Pool area was swept daily as we could see the staff attending to this early each morning. The sunbeds are close together, plenty of them, no rush to reserve them. The disappointing factor is the sunbeds were very dirty. You can get in the pool early and get lengths in , (like your own private pool!) The pool was often not very busy so swimming was an enjoyment.
The Hotel reception area and stairways were very clean. The staff cleaning these areas and the bedroom staff deserve praise.

My girlfriend and I visited this hotel as our second holiday together as a couple. We had an amazing time. The food was very good, lots of variety and something for everyone. My favourite part was the all inclusive bar menu: such a wide variety of drinks on offer. There was plenty of space around the pool for lounging, however I would say the actual pool space was very crowded, although this may be due to the time of year we visited.
There is a beach a stone's throw from the pool that has many sun loungers and goes on for miles in both directions, would thoroughly recommend visiting this. The staff at the hotel were very friendly and always tended to our need, particularly in the restaurant. I would recommend attending the welcome meeting if you are part of a TUI holiday as this was very useful for bus routes and local attractions. We visited the Thursday markets, nearby shopping mall and the aquarium for a €1.35 single ticket each which is very cheap and only a short journey away. The surrounding area is very pretty with a lovely boardwalk and stunning views of the Sierra Nevada mountain range and Almeria.
We visited the spa one day, which cost in total €15 for entry for us both to the facilities for 2 hours as well as towel hire and compulsory swimming caps which I would say is a bargain! The spa facilities were very spacious and relaxing and definitely worth it, especially for the price.
The bedrooms were also lovely, with 2 massive double beds together giving lots of room to spread out. The rooms came with air conditioning that really helped cool us down after a day at the beach. The room came with complimentary water and 2 bottles of soft drinks which were very much appreciated after the hot bus journey from the airport. The bathroom comes with shampoo and shower gel so you don't need to worry about wasting luggage space on these.
Overall we really enjoyed this holiday and would recommend it to anyone looking for a holiday with lots to do and nice views.

We’ve just returned after another fantastic week at the Best Sabinal.
The Covid health protocols were excellent and enforced.
We prefer a room at “back” of the hotel overlooking the town much more going on.
Reading some of the latest reviews describe a completely different hotel than ours, reception on arrival was quick and polite thank you Yolanda 👍
Our room was ready and was spotless as on our last 4 visits.
The restaurant was very good, with a very good choice of food at every meal time and a special thanks to our waiter Juan Luis who was very attentive and beyond polite.
The bar service was at times a little slow but you are on holiday so chill out. We would like to thank
Daniel and Francisco always with a smile even wearing masks all day.
Stating the obvious we had another wonderful time despite the pandemic so see you all next year .

Great hotel, beautiful food with hardworking staff, nothing was too much trouble, the hotel is very popular with lots of Spanish holidaying. Very clean and would rate it a five star. It takes a while to get to this hotel from the airport, entertainment wasn’t that great. Staff worked really hard on a morning to get the pool area clean and set out with lots of sun beds all in line, it was hotter by the pool area and we all preferred the beach area at 4 euros per bed for the day, the sand is gritty but means you didn’t get it everywhere. There was two bar areas by the pool and some people used just b & b and mist were either half board and all inclusive with a band system on arrival, a lovely place

+1
Location very good. Staff excellent. Room and bathroom exceptionally clean and modern. Stayed on top floor but the hotter you turn the shower the slower the pressure. Be careful – shower tray can be slippery. No real need for two (very comfy) double beds – would have preferred only one and more easy chairs – or couch – to give a better feeling of space. EXCELLENT privacy on the good sized balcony with sensible and clean balcony furniture. When a hotel goes to the trouble of covering the restaurant/reception roof, below rooms, with white chippings instead of just leaving the metal exposed you know that they care about the detail but TV wires, in room, could have been better hidden and USB did not work – Jet2ers be aware there is no UK TV. Great choice of full buffet and Show Cooking, the quality of which was EXCELLENT and HOT (H10 BCN – previous review, please take note. The residents were mainly Spanish and they seemed to enjoy the very HOT food). Personally missed “proper sausages” and crispier bacon, but the rest of the food more than compensated for that. Excellent choice of breads at dinner. Drinks well priced. Well worth a relaxing get away.
