We enjoyed our 2-night stay here. The rooms are not fancy, but they are big for European standards and we were quite comfortable. The hotel staff are warm and we enjoyed going to the adjoining brasserie for a meal. The menu is simple but the servings are generous. The breakfast is fine, with a variety of food. Down the road, there are 2 supermarkets, ATMs, a petrol station and a laundromat and the centre of town is very close. There is ample parking at the back of the hotel.
Close the borders of Luxembourg and Belgium this hotel-restaurant is located in a rural area. Rooms are basic however the restaurant is more impressive with a good Italian kitchen including homemade thin crust pizza, risotto and the classic Italian meat dishes. It is family run hotel-restaurant and the prices are friendly and portion are very generous.
We recently stayed at this hotel as part of a group on a driving tour. As the hotels we had already stayed in along the way has been of an extremely good standard, we were underwhelmed as soon as we pulled up outside. It is situated in a residential area close to the motorway network. We were checked in by a surly young man, with little personality. He wasn't especially helpful, and seemed keen to get rid of us as quickly as possible. Our room was a real contract to those previously stayed in on the tour. More like a basic Travelodge room. No more, no less!! Not a room you would want to relax in. Functional, but unwelcoming. The bathroom was ok, but the shower had a shower curtain, which you don't see to often these days. Not very nice to shower in!! We went down to the bar, which was another "functional" room! Very large with lots of unoccupied tables. Very few comfortable areas. In reality it reminded us of a locals bar. We were served our drinks by a nicevwaitress, and charged them to our room. To be fair the drinks were reasonably priced. Later that evening, we joined the rest of our group in the dining room, to find that they all were a little disgruntled by this hotel. Our meal was a set meal. It was ok, it the atmosphere was a little strange. Lots of waiters milling around. One poor waitress who brought a jug of water to our table in error was firmly reprimanded, and told to take it away again. The waiters were definitely in charge!! Also we were all a bit perplexed by the system of ordering drinks. Each couple was given a card with a number on it. Not our room members as you would think! We weren't able to charge our drinks to our room, but had to pay for them before we left the restaurant. We slept quit well, despite being on the road. I think the shutters kept out the noise. Breakfast was served in the restaurant. It was of a reasonable standard. There was lots of comings and goings, but no-one checked our room number. It looked as though the majority if clientele at this hotel are either reps or students ( unless they had just wandered in off the street, and no-one was checking). I can't see that we would ever go to this hotel again, out of choice or if it was included on a car tour. The hotel is what it is I suppose. A quick stop over hotel, but even so, it could be so much nicer.…
Stayed here one night and found it to be an excellent little hotel. Good friendly service and handy for the University I was visiting. Breakfast was usual continental Fayre but was fine. Price was sensible and wifi a good speed. Overall can recommend this as a business hotel if you need one in Luxembourg.
