We stay at I Cedri first night on arrival to Italy as it is clean, secure and the owners are very hospitable. After a good quiet nights sleep we move on to rent house in the south. Great little breakfast each AM. More business oriented hotel but a perfect spot for our purposes.

Scandicci is a suburb of Firenze. We stayed there 18 and 19th June 2015. Fabio and Laura did go beyond our expectations on many fronts. Our reservation made in September 2014 was cancelled by the hotel days before our arrival due to a credit card issue, a total surprise to us as we had been already 3 weeks into our journey and never had any credit card issue. We very nearly had to chase another hotel in Florence. They showed us the last room left and we decided to take it. Not quite the balcony room we had booked. However, the next day Fabio and his staff moved us to an upper floor and balcony room. The breakfast room was quaint and had the cold offerings as most other breakfast included properties. The lattes and cappuccinos were great for sure. They recommended and made a booking for us at a real Tuscan cuisine restaurant in Lastra a Signa and we were not disappointed, it was excellent. This hotel is located in Scandicci a suburb of Firenze is an excellent value. Laura directed us to a short 3 Km drive to a free parking lot that places you right next to a modern comfortable commuter train that takes you to the main train station in Firenze in about 18 minutes for 1.20 Euro each. A price that can't be beat. From there you can explore Firenze at will and also experience the area around Scandicci away from the maddening crowd of Firenze. We would stay there again if we ever went back to Firenze.

Great value for money. If you don't have a car and wish to visit Florence....forget it. Travelling by car you have easy access to the hotel from the motorway. To visit Florence drive 2 kms and park free at the train terminal. Train zips you downtown. Rooms are impeccably clean and the staff are as friendly as can be. Breakfast is ample and varied.

Although we did have some problems finding the hotel, once we found it it was just great! Very clean and modern inside, staff super friendly and helpful (hotel is owned by a brother and sister), room excellent - large, clean, very comfortable with really excellent bathroom. Free map at Reception and we were told where to get a good pizza for supper as they don't serve dinner at the hotel. Superb breakfast with choice of cereals, cold meats, breads and juices plus fresh coffee - everything you need to get your day started to tour Florence. Best way to get into city from the hotel is to drive to a free car park - 10 minutes - and to get a Tram which takes you right into the heart of Florence next to the main railway station. Tram ride takes about 25 minutes and a costs very little - around 2 Euros each. Trams run very frequently throughout the day.

We went to this hotel thinking it would be a good option for visiting Florence, but unfortunately once we got there we found out that to get into the city centre you need to take a bus and then the tram as we didn't have a car. Once we were in Florence, we had a great day, but to return to the hotel to freshen up before dinner was going to take too long so we stayed in the city and hung around instead. After dinner, we took the tram back, but then found out that the buses finish at 8pm! We got there at 10pm, so had to walk back to the hotel which took us 2 hours!! We tried to call the hotel to ask for directions/cab information but the receptionist couldn't speak a word of English! In terms of the hotel itself, the bed was comfortable (we needed it after all that walking!). The bathroom was small. I would only recommend this hotel if you are staying in Scandicci or if you have a car.
