Le Traverse is the place to stay! The host, Panuccia, makes the Tuscan countryside come alive. It is a truly Italian experience. The room and the breakfast was wonderful. Pienza is just a short drive away, perfect for stopping in for dinner. It is much better to stay outside of Pienza in this countryside-paradise with a nice view of hilltop... More

The Le Traverse experience is as good as it gets for this price range and probably better that most places that are higher. Hospitality is top notch, breakfast is great with friends service from the help. The pool is quiet and clean. Rooms are comfortable, they don't have AC so if it's over 90F then it's a little warm but... More

A Piece of Heaven What can you say about a place where two rows of cypress trees lead up a glorious hillside to a piece of heaven? I think you say “Grazie.” Grazie for the jasmine that framed our patio and doorway and wafted its sweet scent into our room. Grazie for the pink roses on the rustic wood bureau,... More

We started to plan our trip to Italy over 2 years ago with the most important part of finding a place in Toscana. So many Villas so many areas, Siena, Montepucilano, Cortona, Chianti all the big names and places we visited while here. We did not stay in any of those places were we did stay was Le Traverse in... Spent five nights at this gorgeous 4-room B&B (800 year old foundation rebuilt 30 yrs ago with upgraded facilities). Owner, Penucia, could not have been more accommodating, nor could have been her staff (2 women). Penucia was meticulous in her service and offerings; made dinner sugggestions and reservations, as she knows everyone 'in town' (Pienza is the perched, walled city... More

We spent three nights here in mid-May and had the most wonderful experience. Pinuccia was incredibly warm, welcoming, and delightful to chat with. Breakfasts each day were delicious and very elegant, served on white linen; fresh coffee and tea, fresh fruit, yogurt, eggs (from the hens on the property!), fresh made breads with homemade jams, and even a special birthday... Incredibly beautiful: the scenery and views, the hospitality, the accommodations - it doesn't get any better. The breakfasts enjoyed outside looking over the stunning scenery is delicious and catered to your desires. The owner, Pinuccia, feels that her guests should be treated as she would want to be in her own home and you feel it with every detail. The... More

We booked Le Traverse based on the high response on TripAdvisor, and even the most positive reviews don't do it justice. This is an absolutely beautiful olive farm only 3 km from Pienza, and yet the scenery, service, and accommodations put it into a category all on its own. We stayed for 8 nights in early May, 2016 and it... More

It's impossible to capture the beauty around Le Traverse with photographs or words. We were warmly welcomed like old friends and heard wonderful stories from Pinuccia- the most elegant and warm proprietor. The accommodations were perfect, breakfast outside in the midst of the most beautiful countryside was delicious and we felt well- cared for by Svetlana and Alexia. You don't... More

Le Traverse is off the beaten path not just on TripAdvisor, but in reality as well. It takes a while to find it. You'll make a few wrong turns in your rented car. When you finally arrive, after miles of windy Tuscan roads, you'll think you've stumbled into paradise. You'll meet Pinuccia, the lovely woman who owns the estate. She'll... More
