La Bandita, in the historic Tuscan village of Pienza is a fantastic base from which to immerse and discover the Val d'Orcia region of Tuscany. This is an inviting boutique hotel combining modern, clean design with warm Tuscan charm. A carefully converted convent that retains the beauty and simplicity of a bygone era, the rooms are well appointed, light-filled and spacious, with a modern scandi-chic aesthetic and good sized en-suite bathroom. Ask for a room with a view over the rear garden. The restaurant boasts a modern Tuscan menu for dinner and is open to the public - definitely make a booking as it is delicious food and great service. A lovely buffet style breakfast was also served here each morning, with eggs and other cooked items available to order. There was a little brochure in the room that offered suggestions for dinner and walking trails around the town. We got a bit lost taking the longer walk out around the surrounding farm land, but it was all in good fun as Pienza is on top of a hill and so quite visible to lost travellers! Recommend taking a little picnic of bread, cheese (pecorino of course) and meats from one of the shops in Pienza for a nice day out in the fields! Make sure you take a short stroll to the little bar on the top of the wall of the town. Here you can enjoy a spectacular sunset Aperitivo each evening, looking over the Val d'Orcia and toasting your good judgement at choosing to stay the night in such a magical part of the world.

Formerly a convent, this new hotel is chic modern (while sustaining classic style of the region) with terrific amenities. There’s a nice courtyard in the back and a very comfortable lounge for relaxing. The lounge and rooms feature free mini-bar for non-alcoholic beverages (sodas, waters, juices). HINT: The lounge mini-bar is under the sink (see picture). The restaurant is terrific and serves dinner (charge) and breakfast (free). When you have breakfast, the attendant will bring you coffee or tea, and you can (and should) ask for eggs to be prepared to your liking. The owner John is a regional wine expert and you might want to request a tasting with him. Marriott Bonvoy members rejoice because you can earn points/nights here, but all perks may not be available due to the hotel’s small 12 room size. Not all rooms have elevator access, but no worries the friendly staff will help you with your bags. We stayed in room #7 and it was quite spacious, very comfortable, and has a large modern bathroom. Our only disappointment was that their WiFi Internet was inoperative, so we had to use TIM mobile data instead at 3G speeds (slow). Be sure to save time to wander up and down the Main Street of shops and visit historic churches. In a short 2 minute walk you can find breathtaking views of the area. Thank you to John and all the staff for a fantastic visit! Sorry we drank you out of complimentary waters! LOLs

This “hip hotel” not only provided me with a first class experience, but I earned Marriott points for my stay. Dude... La Bandita is located inside the charming piazza of Pienza, a beautiful town surrounded by glorious views of the Tuscan countryside. The service was amazing, from the cheery front desk staff to the restaurant employees to John, the owner...everyone made us feel welcome and happy. The crown jewel of the hotel is a library on the first floor...my wife and I enjoyed a bottle of wine and some food that we brought in while listening to the turntable, getting to know some of the other guests over a few bottles of wine before dinner. The overall vibe of the hotel made this experience both natural and inviting. Our suite was spacious and perfect. Bravo.

I am Marriott Titanium and booked La Bandita Townhouse with points as a part of a two week Italian vacation. It was the highlight of my entire trip! This place is absolutely fantastic. The location, the staff, the food, the ambiance, everything. If you are looking for a perfect place to stay in Tuscany, this is IT, especially if you are Marriott obsessed, like I am. We particularly loved Virginia at the front desk. The entire team here is great. Book this place, trust me!

La Bandita Townhouse is located in the heart of Pienza, one of the most beautiful places we have ever visited. The Townhouse is fully modernized on the inside, with lovely wooden floors, clean lines and a thoroughly up-to-date large bathroom. Our bed was firm and comfortable, something that we very much appreciate and is not always easy to find while traveling. The hotel is excellently run--a wonderful, friendly group of people (Elena, John, Virginie, Silvia, Paola, and Valeria) who took care of our every request with a friendly smile and offered great suggestions on where to visit nearby and where to eat, as well as making dinner reservations for us each night. Everyone working at the hotel and the restaurant was extremely friendly and welcoming. The restaurant at the hotel serves delicious food that is both traditional and creatively prepared--we highly recommend eating there at least one night while staying at the hotel, We loved it and hope that we will be able to visit again, hopefully next year!
