I agree with all of the excellent reviews. La Bandita Townhouse is indeed a jewel in the heart of Pienza. Location, spacious. comfortable rooms, beautiful garden & Bandita Caffe are superb. We also are most grateful for the support we received from the staff...in particular Virginia and Sylvia. My husband & I were in desperate need of a room after a disastrous Airbnb experience. We called at the last minute & were fortunate enough to connect with Virginia who arranged for a glorious room. She & Sylvia became our Angels - always gracious & helpful with luggage, restaurants, guides, etc. They allowed us to truly enjoy Pienza -. the perfect Hill Town. . You too will be fortunate when you book La Bandita Townhouse. Linda
This is my fourth time at LaBandita and it was wonderful once again. It is like arriving home to a comforting place with welcoming people , great food , lovely rooms and a charming town. We ate all 3 nights at the fabulous restaurant and once again we met so many delightful and interesting people in the library. We are so happy that they are thriving after covid and I can’t wait to go back again. This is a treasure in Tuscany. Keep up the great job, John, Ondine snd all the other wonderful staff😘
Love this place. The room was quiet, air conditioned, clean and spacious. The staff were very helpful. The position is perfect very close to the city entrance if you have to walk with bags and there’s a lift to the upper floors. The restaurant was fantastic, great food and service and the common areas really comfortable and interesting.
We had a wonderful time at La Bandita Townhouse. The hotel is perfectly located in the picturesque town of Pienza. Our room was modern and well-appointed. Service could not have been more welcoming and helpful. We will definitely stay here again.
La Bandita provides a great hospitality platform for enjoying Pienza and the surrounding area. The rooms are contemporary in design and feel. The common areas promote collegiality among the guests. The staff at the property is absolutely terrific. Parking was a breeze and access to the property was quite easy from the public parking area. Many thanks for a great stay.
Can not say enough great things about this beautiful hotel! The location is perfect, right in the heart of Pienza. On top of that, the people on staff are incredibly friendly and kind. Virginia who helped check us in and also booked reservations for local restaurants is incredibly friendly and helpful. Mike at the restaurant is also great. He took great care of our family including our daughter who has a nut allergy. He spent a lot of time with us helping make food and wine decisions, but also teaching us a lot about Italian culture. The team does not make you feel like a guest, they make you feel like a friend. A truly great experience….highly recommend the hotel and the restaurant!!
We arrived at La Bandita, after coming from the pricey penthouse at Portrait Roma, and let me tell you, I love La Bandita more! This place captured my heart back in 2013 and I've been pining for it ever since. So much so that, in order to stay here, we drove 4+ hours every day, to compete at the World Championships. There's a genuine authenticity here, the design is clever, the restaurant does a killer tiramisu and if you're lucky your day will start with Giulietta bounding past you full of doggy happiness at breakfast. Thanks for creating this incredibleness, John & Ondine.
La Bandita Townhouse truly is a gem. We visited for 6 nights and couldn't have been happier with our stay. The town of Pienza is beautiful, small, and a perfect destination for visiting surrounding areas such as Montepulciano and Montelcino. The owner, John, and his team are top notch and they were very helpful with anything we needed. The townhouse caffe is a fantastic spot for dinner or even just heading down for a glass of wine. The wine list is one of the best in the area. When we were at La Bandita, we arranged through concierge several excursions including one to Siena, one to a local farm for a cooking class, and a visit for the day to use the pool and have lunch at La Bandita countryhouse, which is also a beautiful property. Everyone was welcoming and we also met many nice people also staying at the townhouse. Pienza and the townhouse are wonderful for a romantic stay, but also we saw many families there and Pienza is the perfect safe place to bring children and is flat in comparison to the other small towns in the area. The rooms are modern and very comfortable (AC, great shower). We highly recommend and hope we are lucky to return one day.…
Hotel is in the centre of Pienza, in a beautiful townhouse property. Positives Staff are all very welcoming and friendly. The complimentary water bottles are a nice touch, and the room / mini bar is well stocked and replenished with coffees, snacks soft drinks and water. The honesty bar and aperitivo from 6pm was also a welcome surprise. There are also plenty of toiletries in the rooms and one of the evenings clean towels and water had been delivered too. Breakfast is a small and basic selection but lovely. Some small criticisms The interior decor is lovely and modern, though there were a few design/layout flaws which I mainly comment on because for the price paid and standard expected, I think some attention to detail was missed. In the bedroom, there were two mirrors, but one was on the side of the wardrobe unit so a little redundant. There was nowhere to easily get ready, as the mirror was nowhere near the desk or the sockets. There were plenty of bedside sockets however, including a uk one. There are lots of hidden cupboards, some with no apparent purpose, so it’s a little annoying to find anything. Whilst the rooms are big, there was nowhere to easily put a large suitcase other than in the corner which then blocked one of the two mirrors. The decking at the restaurant rattled under our table every time a waiter walked past. The rooms are not sound proofed as we could hear every step of the people moving around in the room above us quite loudly. I also think for the price, it is expected that an iron is provided in the room, however one was delivered to the room on request. There is no onsite parking, which we knew, and staff were helpful in providing options and offering assistance with bags. We had no issues at all, but perhaps if you were less able it would be more problematic. We had quite a lot of luggage and were selective in what we brought up to the hotel. Overall, we enjoyed our stay however I do think it’s expensive for the quality provided in comparison to other places we have stayed in the area.…
Generally when hotels say that they are trying to replicate the comfort and warmness of staying with a close friend or family, I have a hard time believe or feeling that. That is not the case at all with La Bandita Townhouse. The experience started months before my trip when I pestered Elena from La Bandita Townhouse with questions and requests to organize tours and meals. She provided me a lot of thoughtful information and guidance including a packet that they prepared for guests and Elena was in constant communication and everything she organized for us was perfect. When we arrived, we had a terrible situation with a broken down rental car and Elena immediately stepped in and worked with the tow truck driver. She prepared spritzes and a snack for us and made us feel so welcome after a stressful situation! Honestly that night I was so stressed out and she took that worry away! She helped us organize alternative transportation and really put our minds at ease. The restaurant is amazing as well! We actually cancelled dinner reservations on our second night to dine there again. The breakfast is fabulous and out of this world as well. Overall, highly recommend La Bandita Townhouse!…
