The "PODERE DELL'ANSELMO" is a family run wine and horse resort situated in the midst of the magnificent Tuscan countryside. Here, rows of cypress crown the ridges of the surrounding hills, where ancient castles look out over the renewed vineyards around Montespertoli. The Villa The private villa has recently been restored respecting its old-world charm, but adding modern comforts. Set on a working vineyard, the property is surrounded by rolling green Tuscan hills in the heart of Montespertoli. The Forconi family has operated its vineyards since the 19th century, specializing in the Chianti "Podere dell'Anselmo" wine. The produced wines are long-lived and are examples of the best in the Chianti wine region, thanks to the family's knowledge and expertise. Tradition and old family customs merge with modern winemaking technologies, to yield nearly 50,000 bottles a year. These are distributed with the authentic "Podere dell'Anselmo" label. Stayed here for 2 nights and had a great time. They were busy with 2 birthday parties when we arrived but they still provided us with lunch. We booked on the wine tour and the owner showed us around and let us taste the wine at different stages of fermentation, we then had a great dinner and tasted the different wines they did. The second night we paid for the €25 each dinner and again the food was lovely and the wine was on tap. We also went horse riding in the afternoon with Kirsten, it cost €40 each but was well worth it, if just for the views from the surrounding vineyards. We could easily have stayed an extra night

My husband and I stayed here in May and we loved it so much we came back with the whole family. We spent a wonderful week here. The 4 adult kids shared a two bedroom two bath apartment with a sitting room and kitchen. My husbsnd and I had our own lovely suite. Rooms were clean and very comfortable with a real Italian feel. We signed up for half board which included breakfast and wonderful meals at dinner complete with wine from there winery. Evenings on the terrace with a bottle of wine was magical. Meals are served family style and everyone sits at one big table. We met some wonderful people. Fabrizio and his staff make you feel like family and we felt like we had come home. The podere is a perfect location for going on day trips then coming home for fantastic dinners. The kids went horseback riding and took a cooking class. We are already planning our next visit. I can not say enough about this place. If you are looking for a casual lajd back experience where you get an authentic Italian vibe this is the place.

We had such a wonderful time, the staff were so friendly and the place and views were amazing! They offer a dinner for €25 a person every night, it is a true Italian meal where the food just keeps on coming and you get to try out the wine the produce onsite. The owner also shows guests his wine cellar and gives a tour which was pretty cool. The facilities are perfect, this was our 3rd stop in our travels around Italy and it was the first time we actually had a comfortable bed and a full sized shower. Our room also had a view of the grounds that over looked the pool. The pool is a great place to relax and looks out on to the Tuscan hills. It wasn't very busy when we were there but there are so many different areas to sit and relax I think even at it's busiest it wouldn't feel crowded. We were only 45 minutes outside of Florence which wasn't an issue for us to drive but if you are looking to do more trips into Siena, Pisa etc it might be a little out of the way. Would definitely go back!!

My daughter-in-law and I stay there a number of years ago. One evening there was a family style dinner where the guest and family sat until late at night eating the most delicious food and wines from their vineyards. Devine! I can’t recommend them more than I have. Your missing out if you don’t stay here. The family is so warm and accommodating. We stayed right after the baby was born and they made a dessert wine named for her.

We had really a good time at Podere Dell'Anselmo. Beautiful surroundings, nice pool, very good facilities and WONDERFUL STAFF (especially Patricia and Andrea). We had a delay at the airport and we arrived very late at night, finding Patricia and Andrea still waiting for us with a smile on their faces - I cannot stop praising these two people for making our 5 days stay really special. B'Fast very gd and Dinner sublime with typical tuscan dishes and very good wine. Their own wine is soooo good. The idea of dining together with the other guests is so nice because you end up making new connections - friends and sharing of ideas with other guests. Agriturismo style!!! I also recommend to experience horse riding at the neighbor Maneggio Guelfi. It was a wonderful experience for us especially for my two kids with a very helpful and caring Kirsten. She was exquisite.
