The buffet breakfast was extensive and varied with seating outside on the terrace overlooking the beach as was the fine dining A La Carte evening menu which was first class with lots of choice and unusual dishes.
The staff are professional and friendly with good communication skills along with the cleaning staff and gardeners.
The rooms are immaculate and our side sea view with a large balcony was absolutely stunning and fitted out perfectly with quality furniture and fittings.
The only real negative is that the Hotel does not have free or discounted sun loungers available on the main beach (30 euros per day) but a private area on the piece of headland which altogether is a bit Robinson Crusoe without the cleanliness and professional status of the hotel.
The town is very nice with a small selection of bars shops and supermarket and the beach is superb.
We always opt for a full sea view room which either looks across the bay and the beach or out across the gardens and the open sea. The views from the room are spectacular.
The rooms are typically Mediterranean in style , smart and simple with a modern bathroom and great air conditioning.
The grounds are kept immaculate and the bougainvillea across the front of the hotel is the best I’ve seen anywhere.
They have a private beach which is up a rough track at the entrance to the bay. This is adequate with beach beds etc but can get a little breezy. We preferred to spend our time on the main beach which has a designated area just for the hotel. This is a safe bay with excellent facilities and very little motorised traffic. The only downside to this option is the cost, depending on where you sit in relation to the waterline it can cost from€20-€35 euros a day, which adds up for a weeks stay.
The dining experience is truly first class, the ambience of dining by candlelight overlooking the sea is something else!
The food is simply amazing with a fantastic selection of fresh local produce, you will not find better dining in the area.
The staff are some of the best I have encountered anywhere in the world, superbly organised by Giulio, Allessandro and . Nothing is too much trouble, they will accommodate any requests, even at short notice. A special mention to Elisabetta, Andrea and Alice, who were very attentive and worked so hard, nothing was too much trouble, always with a smile!!
If you are thinking of visiting the north east are of Sardinia, don’t hesitate to stay here.
as everything you need and a great supermarket is a 15 min walk away. A wonderful hotel in a beautiful location.
The air conditioning in the room was a bit noisy but that is a very minor issue.
Service at the evening meal was not rushed but sometimes the wait was a little too long for drinks. The restaurant staff were generally superb.
The private beach was a bit of a track and is not a sandy beach really but the rocky outcrops where you had the free sunbeds were beautiful.
The public beach charges €30 a day for two sunbeds and an umbrella. You need this.
Overall an excellent place to stay and I would recommend it.
The breakfast was great with good variety, but if you are expecting a full English then you will be disappointed. This was not an issue for us. Every morning we were led out to the balcony to sit that looked over the bay which is stunning.
The coffee as you would expect was 10/10 with the cappuccino being the star of the show. The staff in the breakfast area were super friendly and always made time to speak with you.
The hotel has no pool and no sun beds in the garden area, with the main attraction being the beach. The hotel has its own private area located a 10 minute walk away and has a lifeguard on duty all day! No issues with getting a bed and not overcrowded!
The hotel is old Italian but lovely and always smelt nice as you walked in. The room was basic but clean with a great shower and a large comfortable bed. We looked out into the garden area that were in good order and was really quiet.
The only gripe was other residents slamming theirs doors which became rather annoying especially in the morning. The corridors echoed so this didn’t help!
The hotel has a sister hotel across the bay that has a pool so worth a visit. We had lunch there one day which was nice and the gardens and the views are lovely.
There are restaurants a stones throw away and just enough for a weeks visit. Lots of fish, pasta and pizza! There’s a wine bar that we loved too, not cheap but the quality of the wine and service is great. Overall a pleasant stay in a lovely location.
We had an issue with the drain in our shower literally not draining. There was literally an inch or two of water in our entire bathroom after a quick shower. After we called to explain this, the front desk brushed it off. Finally they sent a serviceman up who initially thought it was an issue with the grouting and told us he’d fix it the next day. We explained it was actually the drain and that my fiancé still needed to shower so this plan wasn’t going to work. (Aside from the fact that it took every towel we had to soak up all the water on the floor and make the space walkable!). It wasn’t until we pushed him to tell the front desk that they reluctantly prepared another room for us. This was super disappointing for a hotel of this class. The attitude was as if it we had inconvenienced them somehow. We moved past this but I certainly didn’t appreciate the attitude or lack of apology.
The second problem we had was that the AC in our new room stopped working midway through our first night. I met another women at the front desk who was issuing a complaint about this. We weren’t as hot but she said she could not sleep and was sweating the entire night. The hotel said it was an issue with an entire wing and to their credit, fixed it before our second night. This was not ideal but thankfully only and issue for one night.
I also probably should’ve done a bit more research to understand the beach situation but in short, the hotel’s “beach” is more like a bunch of lounge chairs at a cliff about a 4 min walk from the hotel. The walk is gorgeous and the area is very private. While this area is absolutely beautiful, it was pretty windy and not your average toes in the sand experience. It was also not very convenient if you needed to run back to your room to grab water, etc. There is another public/regular beach right next to the hotel but you’d have to pay for a lounge chair there.
The hotel is well situated in the tiny town and walkable to many restaurants and free parking down the street. The decor and overall atmosphere is lovely. The rooms are a bit outdated but in my opinion, this added to the charm and seemed pretty standard in Sardinia. The hotel’s Michel restaurant, Somu, was outstanding and the complimentary breakfast was fresh delicious. I looked forward to it every day.
I’d probably look into other hotels after the issues we encountered but even despite those, we did enjoy our stay.
The hotel is on the beach ( and has a private beach for guests where they supply free sun loungers about 400 meters walk from hotel but it is quiet and relaxing or alternatively you can pay for sun loungers on the main beach which is more busy and has water sports too).
We booked 2 rooms , one being a sea view room which was small but had a beautiful view and balcony and our second room, garden view for our teenage kids was bigger- it had a lovely terrace .
The buffet breakfast had a large variety of food , it was very well presented and the food was tasty and fresh. The coffee was good too. The staff at breakfast were so friendly and accommodating to our needs. Well done to them.
Check in was quick and easy and Alexandra at reception welcomed us . She was helpful when we enquired about suggestions of places to eat etc.
There are numerous restaurants to eat at surrounding the hotel with some lovely retail shops.
The only thing missing from this hotel is a pool but once again you are right on the beach so it doesn’t really matter.
We had a car and had to pay 15 Euro a day for parking which we found high considering we didn’t pay at any of the other hotels in Sardinia we stayed at.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for quality, in a wonderful location.
We look forward to returning to Club Hotel Baja.
Otherwise the hotel is a standard 3 star hotel only. Since no pool, no beds reserved at next door beach (cost 30 eur per bed/day = 120 eur per day for family of four 😳, rooms are small and old, several problems in bathroom, noisy and poor aircon in room, that hotel would not fix, but only gave us a pair of earbuds 🙃, very expensive restaurant.
The restaurant staff and chefs are spectacular. With being coeliac I sometimes find it difficult being abroad however this wasn’t the case at all at this hotel and they were beyond accommodating. They made clear what was suitable and had options on a GF menu. (They even made me home made muffins which was a lovely gesture and very appreciated!! Delicious.) Their consideration and care was superb.
The room we were given was also fantastic and had great views with a spacious balcony with great doors which kept sound out.
Location is great too - right by a group of restaurants and shops which were also great and very accommodating. The hotels section of the beach was great too with great sun beds.
Thank you so much to Club Hotel for making this holiday so fantastic. Nothing was too much trouble and they even help you to organise excursions, including our boat trip which was also amazing!
I would highly recommend this hotel and we cannot wait to come back. Thank you for being so fab.
