I stayed here for 3 nights in August along with a number of others on a language programme! Whilst my room wasn’t the best (air con non existent and no covering on my ground floor bathroom window 😮) the Villa with all its history was a captivating place to stay! The food was great and the pool area was a welcome and refreshing respite from the heat of extremely hot August days! The staff were lovely and very welcoming and special thanks to Julia for her very cheerful disposition! 👍👍
Great food, location, views and architecture. Faultless service and cleanliness. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming throughout our 4 day stay. Courtesy car to Frascati Town nearby with lovely local restaurants and bars and an easy hassle-free 25min train service to Central Rome for sight seeing. Highly recommend.
I chose this hotel because we needed a place to stay for just one night before an early morning flight out of Fiumicino after our time in Tuscany (It is an easy 35-minute drive to the airport on Sunday morning), but I wish we could have stayed longer! The staff was so friendly on check-in and told us that we were welcome to explore the public areas of the villa, which are covered with beautiful paintings and frescos. They provided us with a write-up on the very interesting history of the Villa. Our rooms (we booked two for our family) were very clean and good-sized, with comfortable beds. Yes, the wifi was spotty, and the rooms could use a little updating in terms of things like outlets), but they really had everything we needed and the charm of the place makes up for those things. One room had a beautiful view of Rome, especially at night! We also ate dinner in the hotel's elegant restaurant and it was a perfect last meal before we left Italy. The service was wonderful, prosecco was flowing freely, and the food was delicious!…
This hotel it's surrounded by nature, it's a magical place where you can enjoy the fresh breze of a hot summer such as the Roman one is. The 3 boys and the girl at the front desk where extremely helpfull as well as the attent swimming pool and restaurant staff members. Hope to get to this hotel again soon enough, higly reccomended to visit te Castelli Romani area.
Had read a view reviews and was apprehensive before booking, but decided to take a chance as the setting and grandeur of the building was inviting. I'm happy to report that my wife and I had a lovely stay. An ideal place, out of season, to take a break. There is a sense of casual opulence and a truly Italian feel to the place. It certainly isn't a bland International hotel. We used the free regular shuttle to and from the station. We used local town restaurants too and appreciated the overall feel of the place. It would be unfair to be too critical of the few imperfections. It would be fair to say that some 'worn at the elbows' elements are to be expected. Our room was warm and comfy with beautiful views. The staff we met were helpful and friendly and to give an example; just as we were waiting to leave after checking out we had a coffee which we offered to pay for yet was offered free. Would happily return for a similar break out of season. Thanks.…
Great place far enough away from the hustle and bustle of central Rome but still close enough to enjoy the sites. Wonderfully situated in the hills which makes for a lovley drive out visiting all the small villages.
We only had an over night in the hotel but would have liked to stay longer. We had a nice bedroom and the service is good but it is the building's history that is the real draw. The hotel is close to Frascati but somewhat isolated so you will need a car to get around.
I booked this "shi.hole" 4 months in advance and I was so excited that my friends and I (8 travelers) will get to sleep in this beautiful villa with murals, art and nice location on the hills on top of the city of Rome. I was dreaming about the moment we will get to sleep there, use the swimming pool, eat in a very nice restaurant. When we arrived at the reception desk, the guy told us they have problems with the water and the rooms are not avaliable. Remember i booked 4 months in advance an payed in advance. I tried to reason with that guy from reception but he continued to look me in the eyes and LIE, LIE, LIE. We were a group of romanians and they considered we are not worthy to sleep in their hotel. They sent us instead in a place that looks like a mental institution, they even had a kindergarten on the base floor, and an olive tree orchard, they had no stars (we payed for 5*), not even classified by the ministry of tourism, just looking like a hospital or something like that. So we were forced to sleep there with no swiming pool, no view, no murals, no antiques, not even a restaurant for breakfast. They say they have a shuttle bus but it is an old, dirty, shaking bus, not a 5* car as the hotel of this class should have for special guests. We returned in the evening for dinner and asked the employees if there is any problem with the water. They confirmed what we already knew: THERE WAS NO SUCH PROBLEM but there was a group of dutch drunken guys that overbooked the hotel.…
My second break this year at this hotel. We stayed for a short 4 night break here to go and visit Rome and the surrounding areas. Unfortunately for us, we arrived in the middle of a rain storm and the torrential rain continued virtually continuously throughout our visit, which made sightseeing in Rome virtually impossible. Fortunately the hotel and the rooms were a good sanctuary to relax and enjoy the views over Rome and nearby Frascati a great little place to explore the winding streets between downpours! And plenty of typically Italian bars to seek shelter from the rain and enjoy a glass of vino or prosecco! On arrival at the hotel, we were allocated a superior room in the larger adjacent stable block outside. The two outside blocks are attached with an underground walkway, which was great to stay out of the rain when walking to the hotel restaurant. The room we were allocated was upstairs and the bathroom had a skylight which had sprang a major leak in the heavy rain. Hotel reception were great. They immediately gave us another room on the ground floor. The second room, whilst slight smaller than the first had been totally refurbished, with luxury power shower, mood lighting and wall mounted TV. The room was excellent. Wifi was great too in hotel and room. We could stream movies on our amazon fire stick to the TV. For English guests it's worth packing a streaming stick as the hotel TV has virtually no English speaking channels (except BBC world service!) Dinner in the hotel, as with our previous visits was really very good, excellent quality. A nice touch, they offer you a free glass of prosecco when you sit down. The menu was identical to when we stayed in August. It would have been nice to have had a newer menu reflecting the season, but you cannot go wrong with the steak, sea bass or salmon here. Very good. On one day during our stay, the hotel did have a large private corporate event on, so the larger restaurant dining room was closed. The restaurant staff did get a bit stretched to cope with us other diners in the smaller side dining room. So service was a little slow, but given the weather outside, it didn't matter too much as we weren't going anywhere afterwards. The inclusive breakfast was excellent. A hot selection of scrambled eggs, bacon and sausage, plus lots of cereals, bread, pastries, cold meats, fruit juices, jams, yogurts and fresh fruit. And I must say the coffee served at breakfast is the best I had in Italy. The staff at this hotel are alway very friendly and smile. Shame about the weather but the hotel more than made up for that.…
We landed late at Rome and stayed there for the night before heading to Naples. This was quite a good choice as the it is not far a way fro the airport. The venue is an old vila from the 17th century. Rooms are either in the villa or in nearby building. You would like to verify the location. The rooms were very comfortable and clean, the staff was nice and helpful and in the morning the was a good breakfast in a nice hall. Overall, good value for money. Needless to say that you need a car to arrive there.
