A warm welcome to the sorrento peninsula: in the center of sant'agata sui due golfi, in the center of the sorrento peninsula, the hotel villa fernanda waits for you with his ospitality. The hotel has a relaxing garden where the swimmingpool is with jakuzzi, children area, terrace and bar, you can taste all kind of cocktails. The rooms have all the conmforts: centralized air conditioning, telephone, tv sat, hairdryer. The hotel has a large free parking for your car and free wi-fi internet connection in the hall. Appreciate our restaurant: for the base of our genuine "home-cooked" menu we use products which are typical of the sorrento coast plus added flavours of the mediterranean.

A very clean, bright, friendly small hotel, good facilities, well placed to explore the area. Good quality food, although a limited choice, prepared and cooked to a good standard. Good buffet breakfast. The system that they have in place for choosing your evening meal in the morning suited us fine. The staff are attentive and friendly, with a can do attitude. Any problems we had were dealt with. The rear outside area with pool and fruit trees was a pleasant place to sit in the afternoon sun. The pool was cold but, after all, it was September. The front facing open area was a good place to watch the world go by, with a great view of the sea and the entertainment of a really busy and popular bucket and hardware shop across the road. The room balconies also are a great place to sit in the sun. We would recommend a stay here.

My wife and I were the last guests standing at the Villa Fernanda before the hotel closed for the season at the end of October. The weather was sunny and a good 10 degrees or more up on the UK. It's a small, family run hotel, with a lovely pool and garden, where you can enjoy a delightful, home-cooked dinner delivered to your table, instead of bumping into dozens of other guests in the usual buffet free-for-all at bigger hotels. You will need to make a dinner choice at breakfast. The hotel's location is a 25-minute bus ride from Sorrento. It's a downhill, winding journey all the way and the ride offers fantastic views of the bay. You can walk it in an hour or so if you don't mind a lot of steps ... but don't walk back up ! Buses from Sant Agata are frequent and will also take you to Positano and Amalfi in the other direction. Trains from Sorrento will take you to Pompeii or Herculaneum quite cheaply, certainly when compared to the trips on offer from certain tour operators. It depends whether you're keen to have a door-to-door tour bus service (and possibly a guide). Be warned that hotel rooms can be quite small (ours was) and also the shower cubicle. However, don't let that put you off an enjoyable holiday.

I stayed here for a week with my niece and we really loved it, we arrived late in the evening to a warm welcome and, some plates of food in our room, which was so thoughtful. We ate most of our meals in the hotel, they brought a menu around during breakfast with a few choices for the evening meal, it was always very nicely cooked and very welcome after a day exploring! There is a tobacconist shop, less than 10 minutes away where you can buy bus tickets into Sorrento. The bus into Sorrento always seemed to be on time but, coming back in the late evening was a bit different, they always seemed to be later than then schedule showed but, once you know that, you can work around it. At the hotel, our room was fairly basic but, perfect for our needs, the room was cleaned every day and we were very comfy there. The pool area was always kept very clean and some mornings we took our coffee outside to the little patio area, which was lovely. We didn’t have a problem finding a sun bed, it was nice that nobody seemed to put their towels down to save them, we certainly didn’t have a problem finding two together. We spent a very relaxing afternoon at the pool on our last day, the pool bar menu was also very good. We both agreed that it was a great holiday, in a great hotel, where they looked after us so well, can't thank them enough, the Aperol spritz were really good and we hope to visit again soon.

Booked a last minute break for 3 nights. Hotel is on a street with lots of motor bike, small vehicle noise so best to ask for a room at the back overlooking pool. The pool and garden area was lovely also the bar area light and modern. Disappointing restaurant which was cold and unwelcoming. This could be vastly improved with some low lighting and background music as it was so quiet it felt uncomfortable. Breakfast had a good selection, but evening meal wasn't good, the first 2 nights the food was terrible the 3rd it had vastly improved. You have to select on the morning what you would like for dinner but this only consists of 2 choices for starter and main (1 of which is vegetarian) I personally would have prefered buffet style and the amount of uneaten food being sent back would probably been more cost effective. My room was adequate for a short stay but the shower cubicle was tiny. The hotel is in a elevated position from Sorrento so for me wasn't ideal but there is a bus service to take you there. The views are breathtaking and I did the little train tour which was fantastic and such good value. I did the Amalfi coast tour through the Tui rep Lindsey who was great and glad I paid the extra for this as we had a brilliant guide who told us all the places of interest through the earpiece provided.

My husband and I had a wonderful week here. The Room was spotlessly clean and the bed Very comfortable the only drawback was the size of the shower cubicle which was a little tight but usable and always hot. We stayed half board and the food was good breakfast was plentiful and varied throughout the week. Dinner was what I would call homely mostly pasta but hey this is Italy and always flavourful even if the the portion sizes seemed a little mixed up (starter always massive) 1 disappointing meal in 7 days and that was only an unsuccessful attempt at mashed potato on the whole the food was delightful. The staff were friendly helpful and always able to point us in the right direction and the most important thing for me unobtrusive.

Villa Fernanda is a lovely little hotel ideally situated in Sant Agata. I loved the fact that its family-run and nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff. They are all lovely and can’t do enough to help. It’s clear that guests come back year after year as everyone was so friendly, which was perfect for this solo traveller! The rooms are fairly basic but very comfortable and were spotlessly cleaned every day, with fresh towels on alternate days. The menu choice may be a little limited but everything was delicious, beautifully cooked and plentiful. It’s ideally situated about a 20 minute bus journey from busy Sorrento and also easy to reach Positano and Amalfi too. After exploring the local area each day it was lovely to return to the peaceful pool and gardens of Villa Fernanda. And such a refreshing and welcome change not to have music blaring out from the pool area. Just really relaxed. The shops, bars and restaurants of Sant Agata are a few minutes stroll away, as is the bus station which runs very regular buses down to Sorrento. I will definitely be staying here again and would recommend. It might only be rated as a 3 star but definitely has 4 star elements. Lovely.

Villa Fernanda is a lovely family run hotel. It isn't big or flashy but the service is excellent and the breakfast and evening meals are fantastic. Everything is cooked fresh including sweets. We had a room facing the pool. It was small but fine. Centrally controlled air con is not ideal but it was always on ready for bed time. There is quite a bit of outside noise as it is on the main road and next to an apartment building but this didn't interfere with sleep. Special thanks to Antonio who always answered all my tourist questions!

Stayed here in July. We had a room overlooking the pool. The room was fine but the air conditioning was controlled by the management and only came on at 9.30pm, I would have preferred it to be on when we were dressing for dinner. The shower unit was extremely small. Breakfast was continental but plenty of choice: cereal, croissants, bread rolls, bread cheese, ham, yoghurts, fruit and cake . Dinner was a limited choice but on the whole delicious. Sant'Agata is a beautiful village superbly located with good transport links to Sorrento, Pompeii and Positano. Reception staff were extremely helpful giving advice on the best ways to get out and about, where to buy bus tickets etc. They also booked us on the land train which was a wonderful way to see the local area. The walk down to Sorrento from the village was scenic and as we are 61 and 63 we surprised ourselves at being able to do it but we took our time and did it in 45 minutes then joined the free Tui walking tour in Sorrento which was informative. Non hotel guests are allowed to use the pool but we were always able to get sun beds even when we went to the pool mid afternoon on our return from trips out in the morning. The village itself has many restaurants and while we there , there was a food festival which for 15 euros each we got tickets to use at 20 bars\ restaurants to taste small sample meals and drinks.

The relaxed atmosphere and helpful, friendly staff make this small family run hotel the perfect place to stay in this lovely area of Italy. We met several guests who return year after year- which is recommendation in itself!! Maria was particularly helpful and pre-booked a couple of trips for us and accommodated our request for a back room - room 206 has an amazing view from its balcony overlooking the pool / garden area and hillside beyond - see photo. We especially enjoyed the blue train trip and the walk down to Sorrento through lemon and olive groves with plenty of flora and fauna (well mainly lizards!) to admire on the way. Thanks for a lovely stay.

We were staying nearby and spent an afternoon at the pool as a family of four. We expected to take a quick dip but ended up staying longer as it was so tranquil and pretty; lemon trees and flowers line the pool, grape vines cascade over the pagoda of the terrace. The staff made us feel very welcome so stayed for drinks, snacks and gelato. Very enjoyable!
