I highly recommend the Hotel Jaccarino. Which is high up in the mountains in the small, peaceful and friendly village of Sant' Agata sui due Golfi. The hotel has wonderful views overlooking Sorrento and the Gulf of Naples with Mount Vesuvius in the distance. Which can be seen from the hotel terrace and some of the rooms. Although I was travelling alone and I am disabled with lots of aches and pains. I really enjoyed my stay at this lovely hotel and all of the staff were very friendly, kind and helpful. Especially, the manager Renato. Also, the food was very good and plentiful. I just booked a single room which had a small balcony and was on the side of the hotel overlooking the mountains and the back of some of the houses in the small village of Sant' Agata. The hotel also has a free shuttle bus into Sorrento.

A perfect 2 week stay from first to last. On the first day we arrived late at night to a warm welcome and a meal left for us in our room which was greatly appreciated by 2 weary travellers. Throughout our stay the evening meals were excellent Italian fare with plenty of choice and always delicious. These were served by friendly and efficient waiters. (special thanks to Marco). The breakfast buffets offered an amazing variety - something for every conceivable taste. Our room was cleaned very well by our charming chambermaid and fresh towels & bed linen changed regularly. In fact the hotel was kept spotless throughout by the cleaning team (always with a smile). Reception staff were very helpful & friendly with good response to requests and ready with useful tips and information. Renato (The Boss) is a constant presence and takes the happiness of his guests very seriously and his happy & hard working staff are a testament to this. I have been flabbergasted to see some of the negative comments in other reviews!! One thing that may not suit some visitors is the quiet setting (a plus for us) with little nightlife. However, the small town of St. Agata is less than 5 mins walk away and the Hotel runs a courtesy bus to Sorrento ( the local SITA bus also passes the door). The upside of being in the hills above Sorrento is the fantastic view all the way to Vesuvius. We were sad to leave but we will definitely return.

From the moment I arrived to the moment I departed, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this little gem of a hotel. This was my very first visit to Italy but I was made to feel so welcome by Renato and his wonderful staff. The hotel is full of traditional charm with modern day facilities - yes, there is free wifi throughout the whole building! I was on a half board basis and the meals were delicious. Breakfast was self service with cereals, croissants, rolls, cheeses etc. They also do omelettes and pancakes to order. There are juices and hot drinks - the wonderful waiters bring the tea, coffee etc to your table. Evening meals are full waiter service. Every night there was a choice of starters, then a choice of mains and finally desserts. My room was number 68. The bed was really comfortable. There is a TV, free to use safe and fridge. The bathroom currently has a bath and shower (they are going to be altered soon). The only issues with the room are it is right beside the lift (which makes a doorbell sound when it reaches the floor) and there is no view from the window. However the views from the terrace, where you can enjoy a snack, coffee or a drink, more than made up for that. The hotel has a beautiful swimming pool and sun terrace with loungers. Just a few minutes walk from the hotel is the local village which features cafes, shops and a beautiful church. There is also a bus stop just outside the hotel. If you wish to explore the local city of Sorrento, the hotel has a free shuttle bus that will take you there in a few minutes. Just notify the reception staff that you wish to go. Reception is also the place to go if you wish to book a few excursions to help you pass the time. You are in the perfect spot to visit the tragic ancient cities of Pompeii and Herculaneum as well as the cause of their destruction, Mount Vesuvius. Or you may prefer to take a boat trip to Capri or around the Amalfi coast. I cannot really say how much I enjoyed my stay at this beautiful hotel…. I really hope to return in the not too distant future.

We stayed here as a 60th birthday present from my children. On arrival we had been upgraded to an amazing room with a balcony overlooking the bay of Naples with the most spectacular view of Vesuvius! This has been my dream view and wanted to be able to sit and drink wine looking at it for years, my dreams literally came true! The hotel is beautiful and the staff so friendly and helpful. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay in the area. Special thank you to Renato, Martha, Ilaria, Marco and Gianluigi. You were all amazing!

This hotel is an absolute gem. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left we loved it. The view from our room was the best I have ever had in my life, it was breathtaking. Food is very good with plenty of choice for breakfast and dinner. The bar staff are a delight as are the receptionists who go out of their way to help. The shuttle bus into Sorrento is reliable and easy to book. We had live music one evening which was a class above what you get in most hotels. All in all a fantastic stay.

My wife & I have just returned from a holiday in Sorrento & stayed at this wonderful hotel. The hotel itself is very very quaint & cool with a lovely intimate pool. The terrace for lunch is a must with breathtaking views across the coast. Breakfast is very good & the courtesy bus certainly helps keep the cost down as taxis are very expensive. The nearby village which is minutes to reach through the lane has really nice bars & restaurants, “the smoking cat & racy being two of them. Got to say that the staff are lovely, very friendly & professional. Would we stay here again ? 100%.

Ended up traveling solo as husband couldnt make the trip due to being self employed and no cover due too illness. Hotel is very old style and dated, felt every opportunity they have they want to try and get money off you. Breakfast included but yet they hand you a menu..if you choose from menu you pay extra..not informed of it mind you. You receive a blue water welcome bottle when you arrive with daily access to free tap water in reception...yet when you go to have your dinner...sorry we have no tap water so your charged for water...half board evening menu very limited and food tasteless. Interesting too see if you order from main menu and not from the half board limited menu the difference in food appearance..even the presentation and delph. Only ate three evenings out of seven. Food way better at local village or down in sorrento. Wont be back and wouldnt recommend. Also the management agree..arrogant and unhelpful...full of own importance

Dear Mrs Diane, thank yoyu for your timing, we are sorry to read your review moreover we had a nice talk in the hotel ate the end of holiday ,and we spoke about the water matter, infact no charge was applied to you , in regards of food breakfast menù is complete free of charge , starting from eggs to fresh orage juice or pancakes.. In regards of evening meal nothing was mention to the management otherwise we could offer a different solution as we do usually. Finally you could ask to choose from menù à la carte and we could apply a discount. Moreover bad reviews help us improve our customers service but please a small suggestions for the future.. once in the hotel speak with the staff and complain locally . I wish to welcome again to offer a better service

This quirky hotel is of quite a high standard with no two rooms the same and a bit of a lottery as to suitability for some. We were with a small Saga/Titan group and, although superb views of Vesuvius and the bay of Naples from the balcony restaurant, found the fairly remote location (about 8 miles from Naples) to be quite disappointing as were the numerous steps up to the reception and onwards to rooms. The intolerant Manager with his long scruffy locks and over casual attire didn't seem to care for over 60s and was very rude, arrogant, aggressive, angry and opinionated and had cross words with a number of our party including our Group Manager. His poor managerialist approach spoiled the holiday for many, and had absolutely no concerns for my disabilities when asking for a change to a more suitable room. The lift broke down for one of our three days meaning 51 steps and 3 long corridors to get to our room from reception with walking difficulties. As previously pointed out, staff are, unlike their Manager, always impeccably dressed and hotel is very clean but food is bland and low budget. Also beware of sharp practice at the eye wateringly pricey bar! You'll also pay a fortune for tonic water, lemonade or a dash of lime. Don't bother to try out this hotel if you are over 60!

Dear Mr Leslie, I'm feel so sorry and upset to read your review, I personally welcome all guests and especially your small group on the panoramic terrace , offer best service possible . In regards of hotel location or rooms or any other complaint ( food , bar price, etc..) that I read in your review I never had a word from the tour manager and I will personally contact her and check. I try to do my job wiht great passion and welcoming and once again I feel really bad reading your not-nice words. Morever no one mention about your disability and usually I offer always an alternative solution if it's in my possibility. I could feel to suggest only to speak once in the hotel and not after once you are back home and we couldn't anything Finally I think that bad review help us and me in improving our job

The moment you walk into reception you are made to feel part of the family. No request to hard for the staff. Not only do get to know all the people that work there you also get to meet new friends from all over the world. If you are considering a vacation in Sorrento I would highly recommend Hotel Jaccarino… I know I’ll be going back… only this time with a lot more Australians

We just left hotel Jaccarino after spending a week there and we had the most amazing time. The hotel is antique and authentic but kept beautifully and feels very high end. The rooms are cleaned daily and the beds in particular are SO comfortable. The pool area is so beautiful, very comfortable sun beds and the view is like no other ! We had breakfast included which was great, a large range of high quality fruit, pastries and hot food. We also ate at the hotel restaurant twice in the evenings and the food was delicious. The terrace is so beautiful for dinner, I recommend going before the sun goes down so you can see the wonderful view! The staff are some of the best. They all make you feel so welcome and they were all so friendly and helpful, the manager in particular, has such a presence, he is so kind and helpful! The hotel backs onto a little village called Sant Agata, very quaint and peaceful but has a great atmosphere in the evenings. We ate at Restaurant da Mimi and Lo Stuzzicino. Both were very reasonably priced but delicious. The latter has an Italian singer from 7-8pm who is great. There is also a lovely cocktail / wine bar called Racy and lots of little gelato bars. The hotel provides a shuttle down into Sorrento town with a lovely driver! It is very reliable and so useful! In sorrento you can spend the day/ evening and easily catch ferries to positano, capri etc. The local bus is also very easy once you know the time table and stops right outside the hotel/ in the little village. The public transport in general was very reliable and we used it a lot. I would recommend this hotel to anyone that loves to explore towns easily but also loves their hotel to have an atmosphere and spends time by the pool. We had the best week !!
