Nestled in woodland consisting of ancient trees and flowers, and overlooking the splendid Gulf of Naples, this hotel effortlessly blends tradition with modern amenities and services. Although the hotel is detached from the noise and chaos of Sorrento,it is within 10 minutes walk of the charming village of Sant’Agata sui due Golfi, which can be accessed via the hotel’s private path. Sorrento can also be reached on the shuttle bus service, which runs from May to October and stops in front of the hotel.Spend long days relaxing by the outdoor pool for adults and the smaller pool for children, or sipping drinks on the terrace overlooking the unique scenery of the Gulf.Discounts may apply for longer stays.Newly renovated, these rooms are furnished with a lovely terracotta tile floor and antique-style wood furniture, giving a sense of an ancient farmhouse villa. These rooms also have a wonderful view over the Gulf of Naples. All rooms are with individual air-conditioning and Wi-fi connection

We, my wife and I spent a week at GHH SORRENTO with Titan holidays on a group of 30+. Overall, the hotel was slightly dated but this added to the ambiance of the place. Food was not what we expected (Italian) but menus to suit guest from all over Europe. breakfast was great for me as a continental would always be my choice. Staff were always pleasant and helpful. Toni was a great hit with the females in our party and some of them wanted to take him home with them. Housekeeping was 1st class, and we never had a problem with restocking of items or clean towels The Matre de in the restaurant was very efficient and helpful. If we are ever in Sorrento area in the future, we would select the GHH for our stay - thanks

I booked this hotel through Tui and I am super impressed. This was my first visit to Italy and staying at the Grand Hermitage made it a wonderful experience. The view from our room was magnificent. We overlooked the Bay of Naples across to Mount Vesuvius. The hotel is family run and it shows. They really care about their guests and nothing is too much trouble. The food was of a high standard with plenty of variety. I would certainly recommend a stay at the Grand Hermitage.

Very charming hotel, furnished as the name says in the style of a "Grand Hotel". The rooms need a bit of renovation, what will be done during the coming winter month, as the owner told us. We got an free upgrade from Villa Romita to a room on the 5th floor at the main bildung with phantastic view to the bay and Vesuvio (thank you so much for that!). We enjoyed the view on our balcony with a little table and two chairs at different times a day. The room was very clean and the bath looks phantastic with the typical Italien ceramic. The staff were competent and very friendly and always helpful. A shuttle bus is going several times a day to Sorrento and back - a perfect free of charge service! Good varieties for breakfast, the same offer every day. Nice offer of various drinks at the Bar (open till 11:00 pm) We can recomend the trip to Amalfi and Positano by boat, offered by an external partner of the Hotel. The Hotel arranged the booking and the organisation was perfect. The trip was amazing, lots of Addition information on the way to Amalfi/Positano and visiting all "hot spots". Grand Hotel Hermitage is a place to come back and stay there again. Not only because of its perfect location, but also because of the hospitality, service and the feeling of beeing a "special guest".

Arrived late evening , a party of 6. Lovely welcome welcome and when we got to our rooms there were rolls , fruit etc . Very charming hotel with stunning views of the bay and Vesuvius. I can honestly say that we had a wonderful week in this hotel. The staff were fantastic, from reception, restaurant, bar staff and special mention to the wonderful chap who ran the shuttle bus several times a day to Sorrento and back. The food was very tasty and you had three choices of starter and main. Dessert was mainly cake, which was ok, but may have been nice to have more variety. Breakfast was good, great coffee and hot drinks selection, cereal, fresh fruits, cakes and limited ‘hot’ choice of scrambled eggs and sausages. The rooms were dated, but the beds comfortable, shower hot and a small balcony . Enough storage and spotlessly clean, as was the entire hotel. We did some amazing trips and used the trains for Pompeii, Vesuvius etc and found some good tours in Sorrento. One excellent trip which I would highly recommend was with Sorrentomaxitours where we had a minibus (seating max 8 people) and travelled to Positano, Amalfi and Ravello which also included a lovely lunch high up overlooking the coastline in a pretty taverna and included wine and water, worked out around 70€ for an all day trip and really was brilliant! Overall we had a fabulous week, so much to do and see and hotel ideally situated. Oh I must just mention the small town of San Agatha just a 5 minute walk up an easy hill where you have several restaurants and bars, shops and ice cream parlours. Must shout out to Piccola Gelateria del Corso, the most delicious and reasonably priced ice cream shop ever! Of course also Bar Orlando which is just wonderful and has fantastic pizza and pasta. We would definitely return to the Grand Hermitage and thoroughly enjoyed our week.

I've stayed at this hotel several times now and also recommended it to family and friends and it never disappoints. Located in the hills above Sorrento it is ideal if you are looking for a relaxing holiday away from the hustle and bustle of the main town, (which can easily be accessed with the free shuttle bus), or if you are looking for a comfortable base to explore the area. You can also walk through the gardens up to the small village of Sant Agata where there are a few bars, restaurants (including a Michelin starred restaurant) and shops. This is a traditional family run Italian hotel and this is reflected in both the hotel decor and the warmth of the greeting. The dedicated staff really do go out of their way to meet your needs and make sure you have an enjoyable stay. The rooms are comfortable, although the mattresses are quite firm so when booking ask for a mattress topper if you prefer a softer bed. Sea view rooms have a large balcony and excellent views of Vesuvius but are always in the shade. If you like to sit on the balcony and sunbathe, ask for one of the garden view rooms with a larger balcony when you book. We stayed on a B&B basis but ate in the hotel on 3 evenings. Dinner is served by waiters (not buffet style as in some hotels) and at 30 euros for 3 courses excellent value. The standard and variety of food was good (particularly the desserts were delicious) and the wine list covered a good range of reasonably priced local wines. The recent addition of tea making facilities in the room is a welcome addition.

My friend and I stayed here for a week with Titan, We had a lovely room with a super view of the bay and Vesuvius. We were impressed with the service in the restaurant and enjoyed all the meals especially the wonderful desserts all made on the premises. nothing was too much trouble. a small complaint though the housekeeping was not very good they never replaced tea of coffee or even paper cups. also powdered milk would be good we had to carry milk up from the dining room. The village of St Agata was a short walk from the hotel and had some nice restaurants,, altogether a really lovely week, thank you.

A nice hotel which is kept very clean and tidy. The food was acceptable in the restaurant and the bar was nice, but, we did have an issue with the bar man who was very abrupt to us. Please don't think the hotel is in Sorrento - it is about 11km out of town up a long and winding road.

Our room was very hot, we were told it is winter in Italy and the heat is on, “you don’t want people to get cold do you”. Outside ambient temperature is 19 Celsius, round 28 in our room, he mentioned eat was available. So we tried to sleep however the noise of people moving in was unbearable till after midnight. We were hiking and needed our sleep, but…the view is fabulous. Here are several wonderful options in town to keep from paying the ridiculous hotel restaurant prices. The hotel is no where near Sorrento by the way, at least without a car. As a bonus a volcano blew up which kept us from opening the windows for relief…no a/c though…DO NOT GET A WEST FACING ROOM! lots of better options out there.

Response from HOTEL HERMITAGE, Proprietario at Grand Hotel Hermitage & Villa Romita
Responded Oct 13, 2022
Dear Mrs Mr Kronser , Thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear you had a frustrating experience, but I really appreciate you bringing this issue to our attention. Your reservation was for a standard room with no sea view for one night on bed and breakfast basis. With arrival on the 12th of October. We work very well with the agency you booked with. is a holiday based on walking around and enjoying the beauties of nature without polluting. The hotel is in S.gata sui due Golfi, 8 klm from Sorrento, the next destination of your trip. We offer a free shuttle service to and from Sorrento. S.Agata, on the other hand, is a 10-minute walk away through our private avenue. You did not use the shuttle service as you reached Sorrento on foot. Regarding the prices of the restaurant, I do not see how you can express an opinion if, as you wrote, you have dined in the village. Our hotel is in the hills, the temperatures are mild. The air is naturally fresh in October no need air co. Most of our customers have requested heating. You requested a fan, which was kindly provided. Please Note Fortunately, the last eruption of the volcano was in 1944....

Having been on a number of great TUI holidays I have to say this hotel is a different class. The staff are wonderful and the attention given to guests is excellent. The food was fantastic - we stayed half board for a week and had planned to venture out on two or three nights for dinner but having experienced the quality of the food on offer we thought why bother! We had a great room (510) with a glorious view over Sorrento, Bay of Naples & Vesuvius. Lovely little town of Sant Agata with a couple of bars & cafes is a ten minute walk up the back path. Can thoroughly recommend!

Recently stayed at this hotel on my honeymoon. It was a beautiful hotel with a tremendous view. The staff couldn't be more helpfuland friendly nothing was an issue. We stayed half board which I would definitely recommend as food was great the shuttle bus provided into sorrento itself was very helpful as well as being close to the village of Saint agata. Would happily recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in the area. And definitely be keen to stay again in the future
