Detailed Reviews
We had a single overnight stay here with an early morning departure. The owner was very accommodating when we arrived fairly early and the entire staff was friendly. The owner readily shared all the things we needed to see and do in Trim during the short time we had there.
The location is perfect, being right across from Trim Castle and very close to the downtown area. Trim is a beautiful town to walk in, and Highfield House is the perfect spot to use as a home base.
The room itself wasn't huge, but it worked for us. The bed was very comfortable and we slept well. There are lots of electrical outlets in the room, so there was no problem charging all our devices. The room could have used a few more hangers in the bathroom for wet towels and the like.
Overall, this is a great place to use for your base in Trim. It should be noted this is not a B&B (they don't serve any kind of breakfast). One other thing to be aware of in Trim... there isn't a pub in town that serves food on Monday nights (when we were there), and most of the restaurants are closed. There was an Asian restaurant there which we did enjoy on Monday night.

Highfield guest house is perfectly located close to town center and with a beautiful view of Trim Castle .
On arrival we were greeted by Geraldine and as the weather was " Irish " she even offered a lift into the town ( even though its just a very short hop.
It's this level of customer service that sets Highfield House apart.

Travelling for work, I stayed one night in a single room in Highfiels House Trim. Very clean, comfortable accomodation. Geraldine was a pleasure to deal with and was very helpful in changing dates when I needed to. Tanya checked me in early and again, could not have been more helpful and pleasent. Unfortunately, the water pressure in the shower was really poor but that was really the only negative in an otherwise good property. Overall, a very enjoyable stay and I would certainly reccommend Highfield House to anyone visiting Trim.

We only had one overnight in Trim after landing in Dublin, but what a lovely time we had! Our host welcomed us with so much genuine warmth and gave us some quick tips for sightseeing and dining. This gorgeous old home is located on a hill overlooking the town, with a lovely garden and above all, peace for the weary traveler! We walked into town, visited with the local donkeys, saw Trim Castle and had delicious fish & chips overlooking the river. Then a comfortable, quiet night followed by another perfect stroll in the morning to see the ruins of an old abbey, Cannot recommend this B & B highly enough. Wish we could have stayed another night or two!

Visiting Boyne Valley including Newgrange, Trim Castle and all the abbeys is made extra special by having a beautiful place from which to begin(or end) your exploration. You should make that lodging location Highfield House in Trim. Geraldine Duignan is your host and proprietor of this beautiful old manor filled with well maintained antiques. The rooms are spacious and the beds(and bedding) are comfortable. The House is located a stones throw from Trim Castle(used in the movie Braveheart) and a short walk to downtown pubs and restaurants. We went to a very good Asian restaurant called Wau Asian Cuisine (after we tired of pub food in a week's worth of travel. Trim is a good place from which to begin your travels in Ireland as it gives you time to "de-jet lag", it is fairly close to Dublin airport and you'll start your Irish journey at the beginning historically with Newgrange(15 minutes away).

Geraldine was amazing as a hostess.
She told us of places of interest in the area to check out.
The rooms were clean and big, and we were literally across the street from Trim Castle grounds.
Breakfast (the full Irish of course) was cooked to perfection!
I stayed a second night later in my visit, the WiFi was out (through no fault of my hosts), and Geraldine was nice enough to allow me to use here phone to make a quick call home. Truly a great experience here.

This B&B is very quaint, well kept, in a beautiful setting, and in a great location to visit Trim. It's an easy walk to the castle or into town, as well as several miles of local paths nearby. Also a good location close to Dublin airport for flying in or out.

Wonderful location across the street from Trim Castle. The grounds were beautifully manicured and the rooms were beautiful and spacious. The building itself was a site to see and it was also nice having a refrigerator and microwave available for use.

I really can't say enough about the owners of Highfield. After 24 hours flying and 48 hours without sleep, we arrived at Highfield House 3 hours before check in . We were just hoping we could leave the car and go for a wander but the lady of the house could see just how stuffed we were and welcomed us in. She then recommended some lovely places to eat and drink after we were rested. Beautiful rooms and building. We couldn't ask for any more. Thank you so much.

I can only answer first question. We drove from Trim to airport and even though everyone said it took 35 minutes it took us more than an hour. We left at 8:15 AM and we thought there must be a horrible accident because traffic came to a complete standstill for 15 minutes. We never saw an accident but it was horribly congested and the worst traffic I've seen--and we live in a heavily congested area.
And you didn't ask, but FYI, returning to US, plan extra time at Dublin airport since you go through US customs in Ireland and it's long and thorough.
Yes travel shampoo, conditioner and body wash were provided. There was also unopened discs of hand soap.
