Stayed at this hotel last week for 3 nights and it top class. The service was excellant. Other hotels could learn a lot form this place in terms of customer service. Very happy customer and will return again.
Our stay at Trump Doonbeg was excellent Each and every staff member that we met were both efficient and friendly. Our room was very comfortable and warm, which we could control. The bed was a dream to sleep in and in fact I took note of the mattress make in order to source the same one for our own home. The food at both dinner and breakfast was exemplary. The breakfast here was one of the best I have had any hotel. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and could not find fault at all. Well done one and all at Trump Doonbeg.
This is my second time here, first was for my fruends wedding which was epic ! Location is AMAZING. On a sunny day it is out of this world. Walks on the beach, day trip to aaron islands and cliffs of moher. Had dinner on both nights and both service and food was excellent. Drinks were great too. Covid measures were excellent as were the staff. Cant wait to come back !
After participating in the Paddy Culligan Memorial Cycle led by the great Paddy Kelly, we arrived in the Trump Hotel Doonbeg to a wonderful reception from management and staff. We were made extremely welcome and were dined and wined on beautiful food and drink. Noel and his entire team could not have done more for us and we say a big thank you for the hospitality and service. Well done!
I recently stayed in Trump as a treat for my boyfriends birthday. This was our second trip to Trump as we were there over a year ago to celebrate my 40th birthday. As you can imagine our expectations were high as we really enjoyed our last stay and the staff made it so special and memorable. However, this time, while we had an enjoyable stay we did not have the same special experience and some standards had dropped as a 5 star hotel. I had booked a celebrations package with an upgrade to a suite. The measures in place re: covid can not be faulted in Trump (e.g. sanitiser packs including masks in room on arrival, seal on door before we arrived etc) and we felt safe and secure during our stay. We were greeted as we drove up to Trump and advised by a staff member with the reservations list that someone would meet us in the parking set down area in the courtyard and bring us to our room. The two story suite was lovely and the staff member that greeted us was friendly. However, there was some attention to detail missing from when we got to room. There was a sweet treat included in the package in room on arrival but I had to ring reception to request same. Also, we had to ask how to use the fire but was not shown how to light it. The last time we stayed a staff member had showed us how to light the fire and lit it for us. I understand with covid that you may not want someone in the room but we were afraid to use the fire in case we were not using it right. Also there was no itinerary in our room that the staff member directed us to (the manager later arrived to our suite with it and talked us through it). Also we were never informed of the inclusions in the resort fee, It was only by chance we found out that you could hire bikes, which was a random surprise. The last time we stayed there was a complementary birthday card and bottle of wine in our suite (not that we were expecting this again but the sweet treat included in the package in the room on arrival would have been nice and not having to chase it up). The food was lovely in the restaurant and the staff were very attentive. Breakfast was great with plenty to chose from the menu. We had a late checkout included in our package until 2pm but the next morning when we arrived back to our room at 1pm after a walk on the beach our card was de-activateed. I had to go to reception to request that the card be re-activated until the 2pm checkout in my wet tracksuit as it had started to rain before we finished our walk. This was disappointing and not what you would expect from a 5 star hotel when the late checkout was included in the package. Also we noticed a stale sewage/gasey smell in the sitting room/kitchen the next morning and rang reception after we could not clear it with the windows open when we went for breakfast. They sent a service man down to look at same when we were for a walk but never informed us of the outcome, We only noticed that the dishwasher (with one or two washed items) had been put on but the smell was still there. The service man called along again just before two when we were getting ready to leave the room and check out. When we asked what was the problem he said he did not know and said that he tightened the pipe under the sink and put the dishwasher on in case that had caused the smell. Overall, we enjoyed our stay but it was not nearly as memorable or special as our last stay as attention to detail was definitely lacking despite covid that you would not expect when staying in a 5 star hotel. The staff were friendly and the suite was lovely but if I am completely honest, I would hesitate in recommending this hotel again to friends given this lack of attention to detail and the premium you are paying for a 5 star hotel. I had more attention to detail in previous 4 and 5 star hotels we have stayed in previously.…
