A lovely hotel on the edge of the town. We only stayed one night en-route to our destination but it was a good choice. The rooms are dated but clean and comfortable and the hotel staff couldn’t be friendlier or more helpful. The breakfast has a lovely choice and it was very peaceful to eat breakfast on a the patio surrounded by trees with a view of the pool.
I recommend this resort for kindness, cleanliness, comfort and breakfast. I left , forgot something in the room and when contacted a couple of days later, they were helpful and said they will put it aside.
NEVER AGAIN unfortunately… We booked this hotel via telephone in order to make sure that 4 families with 6 kids get the availability for rooms and the best possible. The reservation lady gave us different info from what the site was suggesting as 8 categories of rooms. We found that awkward but we asked for any of the specific we wanted from these 8. After we told her what rooms we see as provided for the hotel on the site, then she sent us an offer according to the ones suggested on the site. We had asked for a Junior Suite with fireplace and were offered one (without the clarification of a fireplace) at the rate of 130€. We deposited the guarantee and came here on the 27th of October to find that our room was NOTHING like the suite! It was a mere triple room, with the least windows in the hotel! When I asked for a better one with a view, they told me that I had booked a TRIPLE ROOM plus one bed, and that this was the meaning of THEIR JUNIOR SUITE. I showed them the 8 categories they have under the ROOMS link on their site as of today, and still they told me that even though they write this elaboratively, when one tries to reserve a room they get only 4 rooms available and that the Junior Suite is never offers with a fireplace and that in the fine writing it is referred as a triple room… I was furious as it was obvious that they have the 8 categories to lure customers! I told them so and instead of them finding a solution, they denied everything, they blamed me for not calling myself to reserve, and called the owner as well. The owner arrived only to make things worse, raised the tone to my tense tone after my disappointment and told me to leave as I was telling them that I would if I found anything elsewhere. I went out to call another hotel, only to hear the owner in 20 meters or so from me to say to his colleagues “HE MAY LEAVE, HE CAN GO F@@@ HIMSELF AND LEAVE”… I went back and informed them that I was expecting a call, that never came, from another hotel, and told him kindly that him SWEARING for me to others was his character and customer service! He DID NOT APOLOGIZE and said that he would do so only to clients… The rooms were poorly maintained, with door knobs falling in 2 out of 4 rooms, old towels. The breakfast caterers were very kind, and breakfast was adequate. It was good for the kids with a football field and playground. VERY UNFORTUNATE AS HOTEL MANAGEMENT to say the least…
We stayed 3 nights beginning of November. Nice welcome and we were upgraded, the hotel was quite empty. Nice big room with balcony, good breakfast. The staff keep Covid-19 regulations. Nice restaurants and shops in the village of Portaria, near the hotel.
We visited this hotel in September. It was a group booking. The hotel offered nice big rooms a decent size pool and a great breakfast. Hotel is family run so they went a little further to offer a better service.
We stayed in Pelion Resort in a standard room for four nights at the end of August 2020. Pelion resort is in a very good location (a few minutes on foot to the square) and offers parking and calm atmosphere in Portaria's beautiful nature. It has a nice pool and a playground very convenient for kids. Our room was ok for the money we spent. Hotel's personnel did an amazing job to run such a hotel (with many exteriors) and create a friendly family atmoshpere. Looking forward to revisit next time with no corona virus and more personnel I hope.
Lovely 4-star hotel at a great secluded location, yet just 5min walk from the village's main square. Spacious and clean rooms to fall in love with the interior stone walls, real fireplace and great view of Makrinitsa and Volos. Very comfortable bed made it a risk to miss breakfast! All amenities provided, including modern & quiet a/c and fridge. Spacious bathroom too with quality toiletries and modern & spacious shower room. Loads of parking space, playground and small football field for kids and a nice pool. All staff provided Greek hospitality at its best, with a constant smiley will to make you feel welcome and comfortable! Special thanks to the management, miss Eirini, and the head chef, Vagelis, about the lovely food (especially the morning spinach pie)! A highly recommended hotel and I hope my way will lead me again there!…
The room is big and comfortable the view is fantastic. Good brakfest and medium dinner. The air conditioner was broken but we got fans that was enough at night. The room is clean but need maintenance(safety didn't work, dust under the table ,doors were noisy...),dinner at 8pm late for children. The staff were very polait, smiling and helpful. Even Dow all of the little things, we enjoyed the hotel and recomend it to our friends.
We turned off the road in Volos and headed up the hill to Portaria. It was a steep crooked road but we were used to that since we had been driving all over Greece and the Greek islands for over one month, The resort was uphill from Portaria on a one lane road. We had to use the map coordinates on our GPS to find it. The lady at the front desk was very nice and took us up to our room. It was on an upper floor and had a nice view overlooking the pool. There are several restaurants in the village but we didn't want to drive down there at night and walking back up the hill after dinner did not appeal to us. We had a nice dinner on the patio at the resort both nights that we were there. The included breakfast buffet was good also.
This hotel ist beautifully situated on a hill a little above the centre of Portaria. Built as a little village with several separate houses, it is quiet and comfortable. The pool is clean and inviting. The rooms are a little old and so are the beds but no bigger problems. Food is simple but rather tasty, the waiters and all the staff are very friendly.
