We stayed for a week end of August and we absolutely loved the hotel and the surrounding areas,
The room was really nice, comfortable bed and good amenities (great A/C) and a great balcony!
Large and deep swimming pool as this hotel is only for adults, and very quiet! The hotel beach is small and rocky so I'd recommend you got beach shoes, the water is crystal clear and there were always sun-beds available, because of Corona the hotel was not full at all, maybe 30 to 40% occupancy so there were always plenty of sun beds available and the whole property was very quiet. Everything was very clean and the staff was always really careful and wearing masks all the time. Guests are not obliged to wear masks, only at reception.
Breakfast was a la carte and quite good, but no fresh juices but still good quality.
The whole staff at the hotel made the stay memorable, everyone very nice and kind! Kudos to the team.
Do rent a car and visit this beautiful island, plenty to see! And beautiful beaches.
We will definitely go back!

Dear Pablost, Thank you for choosing Proteas Blu resort for your Holidays in Samos Island. All our rooms were designed to be comfortable, providing the best possible amenities and having a great view, This year we had to comply to Health Protocols due to Covid-19 in order to assure the safety of all our guests and staff. One of the changes due to Protocols was the breakfast, the A La Carte Formula was created for your own safety without neglecting our high standard quality and services. Our staff will be informed about your great comments. We are looking forward to welcome you once again very soon! #SEAyousoon Best Regards, Jessica Guest Relations Team

First we really liked the location in Samos as it was just minutes to the port of pythagorio and all of the harborside restaurants. They had plenty of parking that was close to our room. The room itself was clean, decent size with our own pool (wished it were heated). Breakfast was a buffet and was just ok. It was served in the mail building which if you had a room like ours down toward the pool and beach is a bit of an uphill hike. We actually drove to breakfast several times. We only ate one other meal (lunch) which was very good as the nice restaurant was closed for dinner. Beach was nothing spectacular but we did not choose this hotel for the beach. I am not sure this is a 5 star property but I do think it is one of the best in Samos. Recommended.

Just back from our 3rd or 4th visit to the hotel. Whilst we are just back feeling completely refreshed and relaxed. The hotel requires some updating. We usually stay in a hotel room but all quite last minute so only bungalow available. We had a sea view which was lovely, as a short walk to the small private beach. It has plenty of sunbeds, from single ones to double ones with canopies, the same as those around the pool area. There is never a shortage of beds and the fact you can press the buzzer to order drinks makes it even more relaxing, so we tended to spend the day lazing on the beach. A few small niggles, including the bathroom requires updating as getting into the bath for the overhead shower not ideal, especially as there was no floor mat, but I did manage to get one delivered to the room quite quickly. The shower was not great, so would be lovely to see fresh bathrooms for our next visit. The toiletries seemed a little less luxurious then previously, so a review of those may be nice which I would expect for a 5* hotel. There was only 1 robe provided, but sure we could have requested another. Plenty of storage space and a fridge which was useful as they left 3 small waters daily. Some lovely little touches like the daily gifts of local sweets, fridge magnets, t shirts. The lovely welcome gift (see photo) made me smile and a great start to the holiday and we did exactly as the note advises. Despite the small niggles we had another amazing week, of R&R, sunshine and some fab meals down at the harbour. As previous reviews, it is a bit of a hike around the hotel complex / down to harbour so not ideal for those with mobility problems, but there are golf buggies around the hotel so no problems there. Breakfast was great, full choice from freshly made omelettes, pancakes & juices, to full english and fresh fruits, yogurts, pastries. Can't comment on dinner as we were B&B only and part of our holiday is to try the local cuisine and plenty of choices down in the harbour and surrounding villages. See my other reviews which I hope will help with restaurant choices.

Καλημέρα* Mr. Eric, Thank you for selecting our hotel for your amazing holiday once again, as well as for your wonderful feedback with regards to our hospitality. Our aim is seeing our guests with a χαμόγελο* and we are happy to realize we have achieved this, with your appreciative comments of our premises. As a resort in function over 20 years, we are very aware of our slight imperfections. For this reason we strive to make corrections every year and improve our grounds and our service, if needed. Our bathrooms are part of that plan for the future, albeit slightly delayed due to global circumstances. You will have happily found them to be spotlessly clean and functional however. It is a pleasure to read your comments about the fact that you made use of our golf buggies to transport you around the hotel grounds and enjoyed our little surprise gifts. We look forward to welcoming you back again in the future. This is not a good bye, but a Sea you soon! PBR Team *Καλημέρα – Kalimera = Good morning *Χαμόγελο – Hamoyielo = Smile

We booked a ‘sea front deluxe bungalow’ but were really disappointed to arrive to a partial sea view (hidden behind a large building) and an extremely dated bathroom which had only a small leaky handheld shower over the bath.
The reception team tried to tell us that it was the room we booked but eventually relented and moved us, but we had to wait 2 days for this to happen. However they weren’t apologetic and I found the head of reception quite rude and abrupt.
The room we were moved to was much better, although it was right next to a loud humming generator and as a light sleeper it wasn’t ideal. However reception had been so dismissive of our original issue that I felt that we just had to put up with it.
It’s a real shame that we had the room issue as otherwise it would have been a great stay. The resort areas are beautiful, the restaurant, pool and beach bar staff were absolutely lovely and the pool and beach were also beautiful.
The hotel overall is great but I wouldn’t stay again unless all bathrooms are refurbished and brought up to 5 star level as not being able to take a decent shower is not my idea of a relaxing holiday.

Before booking our stay at Proteas Blu Resort, we read many positive reviews. Unfortunately what we read did not reflect our expectations:
1. The service is very poor. The staff is slow and have to be constantly called back. The organization is definitely bad. We had to wait 2 consecutive days at least an hour to receive towels for the beach (at 9 am).
Our luggage was delivered to our room an hour after we checked in.
2. The menu at the restaurant by the pool is disappointing, little choice and very poor quality.
3. The buffet at dinner is unacceptable. It seems to be in a canteen. Poor quality of the food. After the first dinner we decided not to go back despite having half board. We’ve always eaten out.
4. Room is ok. The bathroom is very old and you have to shower inside the bathtub.
5. The clean service is non-existent even if the bed is changed every 2 days. The sink is never washed and the floor is never cleaned.
6. We asked for an up-grade to a better room willing to pay more but never received a response.
7. The à la carte restaurant was closed due to Covid-19. We had not been informed
8. The SPA menu is limited: you can do massages but any face or body treatments event if the SPA menu includes different treatments.

What we liked:
1. The quietness. It is an oasis of peace.
2. The beach and the sea are very beautiful as well as the sun loungers.
3. The breakfast was decent. Not much fresh fruit.

All in all the hotel is nice but as a whole cannot be classified as a 5 star resort. In Switzerland it would be considered a 3/4 stars resort. So many aspects are to be improved. We do not understand how it is possible that we this resort has such a high rating.

I am still a guest at the hotel and could not contain myself to wait until I get home. As a solo traveler on this occasion, the service and the hotel have exceeded my expectations.

I had a partial sea view (I think) along with a beautiful display of Bougainvillea so very happy. The grounds are stunning and immaculate. Yes, there is a hill, but if you don't want to walk the hill a buggy can take you to and from the pool/beach area to the hotel and visa versa at any time. Nothing is too much trouble for this team.

The staff have been wonderful throughout my stay - from the room staff who ensure that the room is pristine and clean every day, to the room service staff, to the gracious, glamourous and caring reception team, to the restaurant and pool bar staff. This whole hotel team are awesome. They truly want us to have a sublime experience and that, we do. I have loved so many touches - the 'open me - I will make you smile' envelopes, the offer of a shawl on a chillier night in the beach bar, the gorgeous towels and the sumptuous pool/ beachside beds. So much thought has been put into our holiday experience and I cannot thank the team enough. I have to say that people make the world go around and at this hotel they certainly do.

I would like especially like to thank Anna, Anna & Chara who always looked out for me.

Well, what an absolute wonderful place. The beach is beautiful, pool area is lovely and the staff are amazing. I would recommend hiring a car if you want to see other parts of the island as there is very limited bus service, in fact I didn’t see a bus all the time we were there.
If you want to go in to the nearest town which is Pythagorean, you will probably need to get a taxi which is €8 each way, as the road is pretty dangerous to walk. If you need a taxi, just go to reception and they will organise it straight away.
If you are celebrating a special anniversary or birthday, why not try seafood restaurant where the lovely Simonetta and will give you great service and the food is wonderful.
The view is amazing.
If you fancy a drink or cocktail, Vassillis is your man, he runs the reception bar.
The choice at the breakfast buffet is fantastic, plenty of choice, even fried eggs and omelettes cooked while you wait.
The only gripe was the bathroom in the room needs updating.
We loved it so much we have booked to go back next year.

What a wonderful hotel with excellent food ,excellent friendly staff and the most wonderful views The thing that sets them apart are all the wonderful extra touches ,all their wonderful free gifts nearly every day These included bottles of wine ,bangles magnets tee shirts bag ,hat and more .However the most wonderful thing for us was an upgrade to a front suite with its own pool. This is one of the best suites we have stayed in . The beach is lovely ,bring water shoes, with good sun beds ( always plenty) ,and lovely beach bar with great drinks if a little expensive.Just be warned this beautiful hotel is on extremely steep incline and even with buggies and lifts not the place if you don’t like climbing.Only things to be aware of is that that meal at night is a buffet ( great food) but at 30 euro each is expensive if not a big eater, but it does have views to die for. Also you really need transport or taxi into town as quite a way to walk. These are only things to help and negligible and the hotel is one of the best I have stayed in especially in Greece with some of the best staff ever ! Ps Samos brilliant island ,loved it all.

Friendly staff, hotel on a slope but with transport service available. The beach is located in a bay, crystal clear water, various fish in the sea, we even saw a small stingray. Stay in a bungalow surrounded by greenery, perfect peace and a beautiful view of the sea. We took a taxi from the hotel to Pythagoras in the evening, €8 one way.
Pythagoras is a nice place with a nice harbor and restaurants.
For every recommendation.

Where to start? A wonderful location, lovely light and airy rooms, terrific exclusive beach with great sun beds. Great food and drinks. Terrific variety at breakfast, lovely pool. The most memorable though was the professionalism of the staff, the enthusiasm and friendliness of the whole team was outstanding. It's on a hill so some walking to get from beach up to rooms but this is made a lot easier by the buggy/golf cart that is always on hand to take you up and down if needed. You'll need to budget for taxis to get to Pythagoreio town if eating out - 16 Euros round trip. I would recommend to all my friends. It's mostly couples or groups of 3 or 4 and no children which I would not normally look out for but in the end an adult resort felt very grown up, peaceful and luxurious. Such a lovely experience. My advice would be to visit the Eupalinos tunnel. An ancient wonder of the world, only 10 minutes taxi from Pythagoreio.

There are not heated but In Greece the weather in May is over 25 degrees and it's always sunny ☀️ so there is no need of heating the private pools. Ps. The pool is outside the room at a balcony enjoying the view of the sea below and mountains and the nature from around.
