Doryssa Seaside Resort is often commended for its excellent service, pristine cleanliness, and an impressive array of amenities, including a private beach and various pools that contribute to a tranquil experience. The resort's atmosphere, with its traditional Greek village charm and vibrant events, is generally well-regarded, though some guests suggest it could benefit from maintenance.
While the location near the sea and town is a highlight for many, opinions on value are divided, with some guests finding the food and service do not justify the prices. Room experiences vary, with cleanliness and space being praised, but some maintenance issues are noted.

Second x at this Resort with children and following. Great experience. Everything is taken care of, staff is friendly and it is fantastic so much attention was paid to our daughter because of her gluten allergy. At breakfast, at lunch in both beach bars and even during the Greek evening with buffet, the floor manager checked her plate.
Honestly... we used the facilities of the beach bar Asterias during the day, pay for the sunbeds and therefore calmer and pleasant with constant service around you. Our children are 20 ers and the weekends with DJs and beach party in this tent are a success.
The cocktail bar is very good and we had the room in the wing above both times and were not bothered. Very good are the lady and gentleman who occasionally provided live music.
The only thing we have experienced better elsewhere is laying the so-called towel. In the morning at 8 o’clock the first people passed by the sunbeds of the pool and only returned after breakfast. For us a reason to avoid the pool completely. Here the hotel should implement a much better policy.

Just back for a terrific weak at the Doryssa seaside resort. We cannot fault the property. The staff were all amazing and went out of their way to make us feel welcome . We stayed on a Bed and Breakfast basis and also used the pool bar Restaurant . The breakfast selection was amazing and it was nice to be able to prepare a Nespresso coffee for yourself. The food from the pool bar was also extremely good . We loved the proximity to the town whilst being located on the beach . I am sure we will return. Thank you all at the resort for making our holiday so special and memorable.

We spent a lovely one week at Doryssa . The trip was organised through TUI and everything was impeccably taken care of. The island itself is gorgeous though it was quite hot! The hotel has a private beach and 3 pools, though 2 are smaller paddling pool for kids. With the weather being so warm, kids were in there till 10pm splashing and having fun which is why it is such a great family hotel. The service beachside is good though cant say a lot about the food since we didnt really eat there. The hotel does provide beach towels though every 2 days as they are being eco-friendly. The beach itself is good though pebbly. We didnt mind it as much as there was less sand in the cracks ;) There are some
The breakfast does tends to get quite repetitive esp by day 3 once the initial enthusiasm for served breakfast has worn off. We didnt have all inclusive so didn't really try the other restaurants or drinks at the hotel. Although the hotel did offer to organise a birthday dinner for my husband, we opted to go to a seafood place in the village. Pythagorio village is so easy to walk to and is a quaint village with lots and lots of food options, boutique shops as well as a lovely, picturesque port. It is quite close to the airport so there are jets taking off but we didnt find it intrusive and it is was quite cool to observe an airplane's underbelly while swimming in the sea! ;)
All the historic places to see are very near to the hotel as well and in cooler weather you can hike to most locations. We were chicken and chose to drove.
Doryssa was definitely a good choice for us. Thank you for a lovely time.

We have been in Greece almost a month. We picked this resort to end our stay in Greece on a relaxing high note. I will say we arrived early and was not sure if we could get into our room but to our surprise they allowed us into our room. They told us we were lucky because the resort was busy but not at compactly so our room was already empty. That was the extent of our great experience here. Let me say that this was our third resort on this beautiful island that we love. We unpacked and headed to the beach. Not a single chair was available. That is alright we bought a drink and we waited around the bar. After 45 minutes we decided to leave and head over to a public beach where we got a chair immediately and the food and drinks were cheaper ( :) ).. After enjoying the beach somewhere else we came back, cleaned up and went to eat. We wanted a simple Greek dinner, they have a Greek restaurant that we began to go to but ran into a couple just leaving who commented that the food was not great and overpriced so again we decided to leave and drive into ARION. Highly recommend the cute small town, a lot of restaurants to choose from and great people. Back to our room for sleep. We stayed in the village area. Everything is nicely decorated and the layout makes you feel like you are in a genuine old Greek village. Our room was on the second floor of our building. Surprisingly for being the most expensive room in our Greece trip it had the least amenity’s, but again the layout and feel was above other places. Bed was comfortable and AC on so we looked forward to next day. Half way through the night which I woke up realizing the AC was blowing but not cooling the room anymore than a couple of degrees. Trying to sleep I resorted to laying a towel and pillow on the cooler floor. To this point I would recommend skipping the Doryssa and staying elsewhere.

I recently stayed for two nights and encountered several issues. The room had a maintenance problem, which I had to report multiple times before any action was taken. Unfortunately, the issue remained unresolved, and neither compensation nor a satisfactory apology was provided. Additionally, my request to change rooms was denied.
Furthermore, the hotel provided a towel card, requiring a towel change every two days. However, when I visited the towel room, I was met with unprofessional service from a young beach bar staff member who informed me that no towels were available and suggested I return later. When I expressed that this was unacceptable and inconvenient, I was told to "live with it." Additionally, service for drinks and food on the beach was notably slow.
While the location and sea were enjoyable, the overall experience did not meet the expectations set by the cost. Future guests should be aware of these potential shortcomings.

This luxury hotel in Samos has a lot going for it. Set in a nice location, it is endowed with a sandy beach and enticing sea just in front of the hotel, which remained calm for a whole week. We stayed in a nice comfortable room (311) at the third floor with a sea view, modern and very quiet A/C and enjoyed an excellent level of cleanliness day in day out. Indeed, the overall service we enjoyed throughout our stay was first class, which is a consolation because there are quite a few things to forgive and forget! For 3 days they could not get the TV stations to work in our room... When they eventually fixed the problem (on the 4th day) to add insult to the injury the TV did not work at all the last night (so only 2 days of decent TV service). The overall quality of the food (luckily we only had breakfast) is mediocre. Since we Greeks pay a lot of money (360 Euros) per day we expect much more. I have been to many similar hotels in Greece and this breakfast ranks amongst the worse. Fortunately they did not charge us for the fresh orange juice which was an extra. We had lunch once and it was also mediocre and very expensive. In fact the "mediocre but very expensive" tag applies to everything you drink and eat in this hotel. The only exception being the Asian restaurant, which is really good but very very expensive! Then again eating out in Samos is generally expensive (vs other similar Greek islands)... Overall, for a Greek this hotel in August is poor value for money and you feel being constantly squeezed (not to use another popular, more suitable Greek word).

We have a five year old son, and we visited this hotel together with some other friends (who have kids). Overall, we were all very pleasantly surprised by the beauty and the quality of this hotel.
We stayed at the village area; which is designed like an old Greek village with narrow streets and stone houses. Very cute, and definitely breaks that monotonous feeling of a large hotel. Our room had a big terrace (which was great for reading a book or getting a drink at the end of the day), and was very functional.
We had almost every meal at the hotel; breakfast, lunch and dinner. Did not have a single meal that did not feel fresh and delicious. Breakfast included is just fantastic; great variety of hot and cold options and very fresh fruit. We tried the sea-side cafe for lunches, and drinks. And also the Italian and the seafood restaurants for dinners. All delicious, all fairly reasonably priced. And staff was receptive and helpful to our son's small requests to adjust dishes on the menu (e.g. pasta with just butter rather than tomato sauce...). It made our holiday just a bit better :)
We also attended the Greek Night, which had huge variety and amounts of food and live music. Had a lot of fun!
Overall, we loved our visit and will definitely come back again.

Great hotel! Small but well planned rooms, quite responsive to the corridor. Lovely breakfast though a little minus for concentrated orange juice. Lovely pool and good beach. If you want a sun lounger closest to the water, you need to lay towels at 07.30…. Great food in the pool bar and nice service on the beach.

Our room had a stunning sea view (which cost extra) with a fantastic sunrise. We had the restaurant below but only a little noise from 7:00am if you had the balcony doors open. Spacious with a great shower, plenty of hot water and a very comfortable bed. A good sized fridge and a Nespresso coffee machine. The only small criticism was there was no mirror above the dressing table and and the socket too far away.
We took the b&b option which had a vast choice with an omelette station, the hot food is kept in heated containers but was always tepid but edible. Great staff who were always clearing your table and the restaurant manager was very friendly and helpful.
The pools were very clean with a great bar and friendly staff (especially Andi). The beach was fantastic with plenty of sun beds (at 7 euros) with call buzzers on the brollies for a drinks and snacks service. Between the hotel/pools and the beach was a lovely grassed area with trees for shade and several beach showers. Free towels are supplied that you could change every 3 days.
The town and harbour of Pythagoreio is only a 20 minute walk with plenty of great shops, bars and restaurants and plenty of taxis to and from the hotel for 5 euros.
Thanks for a stress free relaxing holiday, we would definitely recommend the Doryssa and will be going back again!

Location is excellent, on a gorgeous beach and 10min walk to a quaint port town. Very clean facilities. Little shop on the premises and the village is lovely, feels very authentic from what I have seen of Greek Villages.
The staff are outstanding. The maid for our room (first floor) was very friendly and went over the top, folding my partner's clothes into a butterfly on the bed. Andi and Antonis the waiters were very friendly and welcoming, they made us feel special the entire time. Very very friendly and always up for a chat.
The only reason I have rated 4* is because the breakfast wasn't the best (cold food when arriving at opening time) and there is a lack of activities for free at the hotel. Tennis cost €12 for the hour and the sunbeds are €3 per person per day. Other than that, brilliant hotel and holiday.
