Although supposed to be staying in the hotel Nikolas the group I was travelling with were split and we were located in other properties outside of the main hotel area. I was located in an apartment complex just down the road which was spacious with large living room and separate bedroom and had a small terrace looking out onto the road. There was a small spa bath/jacuzzi at the complex but not in use due to covid 19 restrictions. Room was clean but the maid was a little over enthusiastic and kept tidying my things away in cupboards and drawers so I couldn't find them! The main hotel did have a small pool but not open till 10am so no pre breakfast swim. Breakfast was supposed to be buffet style but again due to covid restrictions things were being done differently and you had to point out what you wanted which sometimes meant a bit of a queue as people picked from the various cold meat, bread, fruit, yoghurt and pastry options. This hotel complex is in a small village outside Fira and there are a couple of restaurant and cafe options close by. The walk into Fira is around 20 minutes slightly uphill at a brisk pace. It's not the nicest of walks as on a main road with only a small strip of pavement so you have to be aware of the traffic and going up and down twice a day can get tedious. Overall OK for a couple of nights as cheaper than in Fira but due to distance and lack of buses along that road into Fira I wouldn't want to be there longer.…
Cozy and immaculate rooms with a modern island decor. The breakfast was out of this world. The staff provided excellent service and was very knowledgeable (from transportation, to history of the island, sites etc). Enjoyed our stay!
Difficult to find in working class neighborhood. Upon finding hotel in my rental car, found two unmarked, gated dirt parking lots next to hotel. Then, looking for reception, you're confronted with several doors, none marked for reception. Figure it out. Good: Room was spacious, really two rooms. Not so good: My 'ocean view' is actually several urban blocks to the water. Both of the room's front and rear windows are exposed to up-close views to pedestrians passing-by. Yet, there's no translucent curtains--so its up-close exposure to your neighbors or no sunlight in your room. Also, not a single cup in the room. An no trash can. Except for the one next to the toilet for you soiled toilet paper (yech!). Hear everything from room above, down to conversations and coins dropping on the floor. Breakfast OK, only egg is hard boiled. Served on trays where I was called from my poolside table to the kitchen to fetch myself. Very disappointing.…
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Nikolas Hotel which is conveniently located - close to Thira and transportation to the beaches. The rooms were absolutely stunning with their modern decor and light effects. The hotel was exceptionally clean and the staff was warm, friendly and multi-lingual. The breakfast was delicious and bountiful.
We stayed at the hotel Nikolas in September 2020. Eve on reception is a wealth of knowledge regarding Santorini the island and was always helpful and a brilliant host . The rooms are modern spotlessly clean with fresh towels daily and a fantastic shower. The pool and bar area offer an excellent base to relax and enjoy the entirety of the island. After check out there is a shower room to freshen up before you depart for the airport again all spotlessly clean. The location is just a 2 minute walk to Karterados with the local cafes and restaurants better value than Fira which is a 20 minute stroll away.there is a bus stop at the top of the road that we used to explore the whole island costing £1.60 per trip.Hotel Nikolas is a fantastic vibrant complex that I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend 10/10.…
