Caveland is the most original hostel 😍 It is colorful, clean - every day caring for guests and with very nice people ☀️ Every morning we had breakfast and access to a fairly large pool, which is not only for refreshment, but you can also swim in. Caveland has beautiful sea views and is very close to the airport ✈️ During my stay I rented a car 🚙 and it took me about 20 minutes from the hostel to all the beaches 🏖 Caveland is a very nice place to stay in while on Santorini.

Caveland, thank you very much 💙✨

Caveland was gorgeous, spacious and colourful and felt like a little spot of pastel Greek paradise. The staff are sweet and the free breakfast terrific!

The pool area was large and clean and the cave I stayed in very comfortable. There are resident dogs but they are friendly and hygienic. The WiFi was decent also.

The location is in Karterados, around 25 minutes walk from Fira, which was perfect for me as I wanted to be a decent distance from the action so as not to be caught up in the tourist throngs. There are several shops and restaurants in close proximity to keep you happy but it’s close enough to the centre of Fira to make sightseeing easy.

Access is by a steep rough driveway so not great for those less mobile, but all in all a fantastic place and highly recommended!

Fantastic stay made even better by helpful staff. Room decorations were unique and we stayed in our own cave with cooking facilites (though we tended to yse the group kitchen in reception.) We fell in love with the two dogs as well! There is a local bakery which was great for breakfast and the bus stop is close so we were able to visit Oia and the red beach. The yoga classes were also a nice touch. Thanks for a great stay!

Great hostel, only a 15 minute walk from the main town and a 10 minute bus journey from the port. Hosts are very friendly they helped us navigate our way around the island and they also offered us free breakfast which was quite nice. Charlie who works there as well is super nice and welcoming. 100% recommend this hostel.

An awful experience. Staying at caveland in santorini is something my friends and I completely regret. The rooms were terrible, as there is no AC, there are no ground rules for when you share the room with other people, which make the stay unbearable. There is no ground transport from the hostel to anywhere in the island. The staff are helpful, but they seem to be disconnected with the actions of the guests. If I were you I would choose another option for your stay at santorini.

Dear Guillermo Thank you for your message. I'd like to make sure first that this review has been directed to the correct property as there is an A/C in every room (and we turn it on in the evening when guests return to their rooms and switch it off after check out time), we have a write up of hostel rules printed and attached to every bathroom door (so you can study it when in the bathroom) and we offer 24 hours paid transfer service through our external provider to all the areas of the island. Charlie and Nikos are stars and you can read about them in so many of our previous reviews. If indeed this review is for our property, we would truly appreciate to hear back more privately as we are always open for improvement and constructive suggestions. Best regards Caveland team

My group booked Caveland off the basis of other reviews and unfortunately we were disappointed. We booked a 6 person shared dorm with a bathroom which actually turned out to be shared with another two people in an attached room. This meant 8 people were coming through the rooms to use the bathroom. There was barely - if any - water pressure and no hot water. There was air conditioning however the remote was taken off us during the day and as we were told by the manager if we wanted air conditioning on “we could pay the electricity bill.” The pool was great and was the saving grace of the hostel! But when chatting to our roommates and other hostel guests we discovered we were not the only one’s underwhelmed by our stay. Overall the hostel was disappointing and unfortunately we were eager to leave by the end of our stay. Seriously suggest paying a bit more to stay closer to the town. You would probably have a much better experience.

Our stay in Caveland was great. We felt completely at home during the five days in our lovely cave. Staff members were very nice and helpful and we enjoyed going with them and other guests at the restaurant. Caveland in itself is gorgeous, colorful and decorated with good taste. Ideal localization, in the middle of the island and close to Fira! We definitely recommand Caveland for anyone who plan to visit Santorini!

I can not say enough good things about my experience at Caveland.

My lovely, gorgeous, tall, limber, yogi friend suggested we attend a yoga retreat in Santorini. I am a short, plump, unlimber 45year old who has had a spinal fusion and a hip replacement. My thought was, "If I hate it or can't do it, I will find something else to occupy my time." I genuinely LOVED every moment!

In my opinion, Caveland is not a hostel. The rooms (old transformed winery) are beautiful, comfortable, and beyond adequately equipped. I am a 'foodie' and loved all of the delicious offerings. The bougainvillea!! Oh, my goodness!!! Indescribable! Go, and you will understand.

I have never enjoyed yoga classes more. Veronika' read' what each one of us needed. We had a span of ages, yoga experience, and functional mobility. Veronika discretely catered to each one of us. I have always been a yogi at heart, but have never practiced consistently. Veronika made me cherish my time on the mat. My experience at Caveland has motivated me to commit to a daily yoga practice for the first time in my life.

In addition to the beautiful surroundings, exceptional yoga sessions, the retreat also included a delicious welcome dinner, a tour of Akrotiri Excavation, explained to us by our nationally certified tour guide Costas and a lovely lunch and wine tasting and an exceptional full body massage.

To say that my experience at Caveland exceeded my expectations would be an understatement. Before this trip, Santorini was never high on my must do list. I would come back for another Caveland yoga retreat in a heartbeat. Thank you!

I was going to stay at the hostel for 2 days with my friends but it was that bad that we ended up leaving after the first night. The pictures make the hostel look super cool, but the place is super dirty and not well kept. The staff are pretty nice, but they didn’t seem to care that some rooms like mine were a complete mess. The hostel’s location is also terrible, as you have to walk around 35 minutes anytime you want to go to Fira as you can’t rely on public transport. Even worse, the place’s prices do not reflect what the place is at all. I wouldn’t recommend anyone to stay here.

Dear Pablo Thank you for taking your time reviewing our place and we are sorry to hear about your experience. We checked with multiple guests your complains related to cleanliness as we received 5 star reviews through other channels for the dates you stayed. Would you mind emailing us photos of the dirty areas so we can address the issue correctly? Our rooms are cleaned daily following strict COVID guidelines, however we are not responsible for the order in which the guests of the dorms keep their possessions and if they cater their things throughout the room later in a day. The walking distance is 25 minutes, this is also the official number by Google maps that we advertise. We are on the main bus route from Fira to South of the island, again the bus schedule and the timeliness is not something we can control. Our guests enjoy our location especially because we are bit away from super touristy and crowded areas. The price is perfectly within a range of hostel accommodation within Europe with a bonus of pool access (not common at other hostels in Santorini), breakfast, unlimited wifi all through the property, linen and towels and hot water. We hope you understand that reviews have very negative effects on the hospitality providers and we would love to hear your comments and constructive suggestions provenly as this gives us the opportunity to grow and improve. Safe travels! Caveland team

I've stayed in a lot of hostels all over Europe and caveland is one of the very best, feels like a hotel with the friendliness of a hostel. The building is GORGEOUS, rooms are clean and large, all round a great place. However what really made our stay was the awesome staff, Charlie was so accommodating and friendly, he was approachable, checked everyones was ok/made everyone feel welcome, gave advice on what to do and where to go, helped book excursions and even made phone calls on our behalf. He organises group activities for everyone at the hostel (dinner out and a pub vist after) he acts as a main hub and honestly I couldn't say enough positive things about him. 100% make caveland your place to stay when visiting Santorini!
