Today I had a great massage from the spa therapist Mihalis, he is very professional and he let you feel very comfortable. He really takes the time to tell you everything. When you are here for a massage or something else, you need to ask for him!
My mother convinced me to visit Horizon, her favorite vacation place in Europe. She said she never found a place as friendly to holidaymakers as here. She returns there 2-3 times a year. She was 100% right The hotel almost "hangs" by the sea. It is a paradise for swimmers. The water is so clean that boats bring tourists for snorkeling trips. After all, it is the Cretan Riviera. The food is very plentiful and varies frequently. Original Greek dishes, including Cretan, but also traditional food. Most products are from Crete, very healthy and delicious. The entire hotel staff tries very hard to make sure that everyone is happy. This apparently affects guests as well, because guests are very friendly and nice. The rooms were clean, linen and towels were changed frequently. The hotel has swimming pools for adults and children, a water park, sun loungers and umbrellas. Outside the covid period, Greek evenings were organized. Everyone will find something to do there . I recommend this hotel especially to sea lovers, people enjoying fresh air and healthy food.…
Had so much fun with my wife here. Good food, good people and such a good vibe! Got to know a lot of new friends over here and we all had such a great time. Theo the manager is a boss, Giannis, Manos and Harrys are real got at what they do! Love to come back verry soon Much love Sean and the Theo boys from the Netherlands!
It’s my first day here and I can already say that that the hotel and the stuff are amazing. The room is super clean and modern with a stunning sea view. All the members of stuff we’ve met are amazingly friendly and professional. We couldn’t wish for more!!!
The Hotel Wellness Spa Service pleasantly surprised me with a high professional level, a wide variety of massage movements and techniques in a massage session, impeccable cleanliness in the room and a harmonious atmosphere. Mihalis - the person who did the massage for me is a professional, thank you for the relaxation and comfort. It was a very positive, pleasant and useful experience, which will certainly be repeated in the near future. I wish the Hotel Wellness Spa Service all the best and prosperity, they really deserve it.
I just visited horizon hotel and I have to say I had amazing time. Best and most friendly staff also very helpful. The main manager and the lady on reception are unreal 😊 when it comes to a food than omg I think I put few stones on 🤤 this is the first hotel that I actually enjoyed every single meal as I am very fussy person:) so much choice different meats and so many deserts 😍 if it comes to the room we had the one with sea view wow it was unreal also very clean and modern :) had a lovely sleep :) around hotel everything is close by such as shops , bars restaurants and buses which will take to to the nearest towns:) I really don’t understands the bad reviews 🙄 as I have really high expectations and I absolutely loved it :) definitely gonna go back :)
I don't normally write reviews, only if I had a really good experience or really bad in this case. After being chased out of the room by the cleaner the first time the room was cleaned, jewellery went missing from our room. One bracelet and two earrings. And I understand that there's a safe in the room (which you have to pay for at an all-inclusive, also for the WiFi, the free WiFi is really slow), which we had that contained all our electronics, money and passports. But you can't simply lock everything up. You're on holiday for a reason to have a carefree time. We've travelled all over the world, been to many different Greek islands, stayed in various different types of accommodations, but have never had this experience before. You expect people to keep their hands off of other people's stuff. Before going to the reception to talk to the manager, we searched the whole room to make sure that nothing had fallen, which was unlikely as everything was together in one bag. After having told the manager about what had happened he said that he would inform me the next day. This didn't happen and I had to go to the reception again to inform myself what they were going to do, which was basically nothing. You just get the basic story that it is not their responsibility and this has never happened before, so you must be lying. So I told the manager that they could expect a bad review, he didn't really seen to care. You have to ask about compensation as they don't propose this themselves. But that was a bit late on the last day and nothing makes up for an experience like this, as you'll always remember it despite having had a nice holiday. And it's just really not nice when every day you're having to check if all your belongings are still there. We also asked if this incident would be noted as we don't want this to happen to anyone else. They said it would be, but I didn't really get the feeling that they were going to do that. The bad hospitality didn't end here. One evening we wanted to drink a bottle of wine that we had bought at the winery at the pool bar area as there was live music that evening, so we asked for a bottle opener and some wineglasses. They wouldn't give us either and said that we couldn't drink the wine there. Which I would have understood if it wasn't an all-inclusive hotel. You would think they would be happy that you're drinking your own wine as it saves them money. Sustainability is also something that the hotel has never heard of, they really don't care about the planet, which is weird for an hotel next to the sea. All drinks at the pool bar are served in plastic cups and many desserts are also in disposable plastic cups. If you ask them if they can fill up your water bottle, the answer is simply no. In order to fill up your bottle you will have to ask them for 3 plastic cups with water... And they can't say that nobody in Greece thinks of sustainability as the bar we liked to go to in Stalis in the evening had paper straws and in other places we have seen paper cups. Also upon arrival there were two bars of soap per room. These bars magically disappeared after the first cleaning from both rooms and there was no replacement. Honestly the hotel likes to make you think that they care about you as a guest, but they really don't. Other minor things that didn't live up to a 4 star hotel standard are the following. The shower has a curtain which is really unhygienic as it sticks to your body and there is nowhere in the shower to leave your toiletries. Also they hardly give you any toilet paper leaving you with nothing for your last day. Cutlery and glasses in the restaurant are often not clean. Cutlery still has food stuck to it and glasses have lipstick stains. Some positives, most of the time the food was nice, but they really need to learn that less is more and not put lashings of spices on everything. Also not that many vegetarian options if you're vegetarian. Snack time is best to be avoided as there's normally only fries and some dry meat. The view is probably the best part of the hotel and that's about it. I would not go back to this hotel ever again and would prefer to stay at a basic accommodation and just go out to eat every night and enjoy the local cuisine and simple Greek life.…
When we arrived at 11pm Manolis on reception was outstanding very helpful and calming he re-opened along with Theo the restaurant and even tho the all inclusive drinks was supposed be stopped they looked after us with food and drinks, both were outstanding and helpful throughout our trip. Taking both time and effort to look after the father in law who he called with affection " the boss" food in the beach horizon was outstanding the bars and areas around by the pool were well kept and spotless. We contacted the hotel before arriving about the bosses as they called him and his mobility issue, they made sure he was well looked and made to feel at ease, we would definitely look to come in the future.
The hotel is charming and has everything you need for a pleasant vacation. We were not happy with the room we were given so we upgraded at an extra cost of 10 euros per night and it was really worth it! We got a charming, newer and quieter room with a balcony and an amazing view of the pool and the sea.
Had a massage from Mihalis, friendly and good service and had a very relaxing experience! Great prizing and communication. Would recommend! The hotel itself has great food and I especially adored Theo, the head of the kitchen staff, very friendly all of them!
