Very nice complex, really Greek style, you should not expect luxury! Good beds! Very good stay at the pool and in the hanging chairs, where you can drink a nice cocktail in the evening.
Everything nearby you need! Good hostess and husband, you can ask them anything!

This was our second visit to Stalis, and our choice of apartments the year before was absolutely horrific, even though we were expecting basic and went with the mentality that you get what you pay for. My partner found Irini Studios, which we had walked past the year before, and I was a bit nervous because the cost worked out to less per night than the studios we stayed in previously. I was convinced by the generally good reviews, and really had no reason to worry at all.
We arrived around 1.30am, and were expecting to be greeted by a note directing us to our room, as we had had in the previous studios. It was a pleasant surprise to see that the bar was open, staff were around, and made us feel comfortable and welcome immediately. Laura showed us to our studio, which was a generous size for a couple and had a large private terrace just next to the swimming pool. She offered to change the room for us if we were at all unhappy but there were no problems with it at all. The kitchen was small but fully equipped - we chose not to cook during our stay, but all the necessaries were there if we had wanted to. The beds were extremely comfortable and we slept really well throughout the whole stay.
The bar is open in the evenings and spent quite a lot of time here. Armando and Laura are such lovely people and they felt more like friends by the time we left. Be warned that sitting at the bar means Armando will fill you with his homemade raki! The bar was always a pleasant environment with a good range of drinks and a good variety of music to suit everybody. Armando and Laura are very thoughtful hosts - if they needed to shut the bar and go to bed but we were still drinking they were always happy for us to carry on sitting in the hammock area or to take drinks back to our room.
The apartments are clean throughout and our room was cleaned at regular intervals during our stay. We didn't use the swimming pool but I thought it looked good, and there were plenty of sun loungers. The location is on the edge of Stalis, so it's conveniently placed for going either to Stalis or Malia.
For the price you cannot expect to receive the absolute best of everything, but what you do receive for the price you pay is excellent, far better than other apartments in Stalis that charge more. We would definitely be willing to stay at Irini again, and if we stayed elsewhere we would be sure to visit Armando and Laura for a drink in the bar. Lovely people who work really hard and really do care about their customers. We miss them already!

A pleasant, relaxing stay in the village Stalida (Stalis), 2 km from Malia. You can go to Hersonissos (1.8 eur one way), or to Heraklion (4eur one way ). I live in a lovely o-room â„– 12 on the 2rd floor with 2 balconies, kitchen, sea and mountain views (thanks to the manager Armando- handsome, sociable man).
There is a relaxable outdoor Chill Out Bar in the hotel. There is a private swimming pool. Good free wi-fi. The sea across the road (100 m). Luxury beach strip, a great entrance to the sea, golden fine sand. There are many good restaurants and taverns nearby our hotel (Sergiani Restaurant, running since 1987, accepts credit cards. Recommended.) Also I recommend restaurant Socrates, Camelot and Costas.
The nice dog Sandy lives in the hotel, we liked her)

This is our seventh time back staying at the Irini Studios and it just gets better and better ! Armando and Leonora can't do enough for you, nothing is too much trouble ! The studios are in an ideal location 2 mins from the supermarket and shops and 5 mins from the beach, the studios are on the quieter end of town which is ideal for us. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable with everything you need for a self catering stay. I would advise anyone to stay here you will not be disappointed :-) See you next year Irini XXX

Myself and my wife booked a trip to Malia at another hotel which was on the main strip and it was noisy and full of teenagers. While we was out walking we came across the great self catering apartments run by Almondo so we decided to stay there for the duration of our holiday Almondo is a great host and we had a little studio by the pool it was very clean and a good base to stay I will definitely be staying again . The cocktails were excellent too

The location is not in malia. By foot 25 min to get there. You have to take a cab all the time. Its 8-9 euro for one way. You'll have to pay for the air-conditionier 100€ for two rooms for a week. and for the wi-fi you'll have to pay 5€ per person for a week regardless of the price you pay per night.the signal is very low and sometimes doesn't work.
The rooms, which we switched twice ,were dirty. The towels were with stains on them. there's no reception area or lobby so there's no one to really talk to if you need anything ,only in the hotel bar - and there you will get a bad service by unkinded employees. They promised us a furnished kitchen with all the tools to cook but there was nothing there and all thw food we brought with us was thrown away.
The owner severl times made a sexist comments on me and my girlfriends.
Don't book it !!!!

Was greeted by Armando (a great guy who would go out of his way to help you with anything) straightaway and was escorted to room 10, what a lovely surprise ! The beds are new and very comfortable and the room was clean and tidy. You have a small kitchenette with a fridge, kettle and 2 ring cooker and all the cooking utensils you would require. The bathroom is typically greek but very clean. Laura behind the bar is lovely, she opens the bar at 5.00 pm every day with a smile and plenty of jokes, i have made a friend for life with her. Alan the DIY man is always there when you need him and is always laughing and joking, love him to bits. I would advise anyone to stay and drink there, Armando Laura and Alan are a great team and would do anything to make you stay as perfect as possible...LOVE YOU GUYS ! xxx

i stayed at irini studios with two of my girlfriends and we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.the staff are very friendly and made us feel right at home, being three girls travelling alone we were made to feel very safe by all the staff here and they helped us in any way they could eg, driving us to get our shopping as we could'nt carry it all. its a short walk to the clubs in malia and very convenient for resteraunts and bars. there is a chill out bar which is part of the hotel which is very relaxing and reasonably priced. we would definitely stay here again as it is very cheap and is the only small hotel around with air conditioned rooms. there is a good sized pool here and we have met some wonderful people on our stay i recommend this hotel for families, young groups of people and anyone that wants a good quality cheap holiday as it caters for all
