Set against the backdrop of a prime beachfront location, the Hotel Blue Sea Beach Affiliated by Melia delights guests with its vibrant atmosphere and welcoming staff, who have garnered compliments for their professional service. While the rooms are celebrated for their cleanliness, some guests have noted limitations in terms of privacy and size. The array of amenities, including the picturesque beach and dining options, adds to the appeal, though the value proposition has been questioned. Despite this, the hotel's dedication to maintaining a clean environment remains a consistent highlight among visitors.

We have had an amazing stay at this hotel, from the moment we walked in we got welcomed like a member of the family with fresh flannels and cool lemonade. We were quickly checked in by a very kind and friendly lady and Arturo was fabulous at taking our luggage to the room.

We had a room around the pool to begin with, which was a great size and had everything we needed. However, the air conditioning didn’t work and the shower flooded each time we used it. We spoke to Manolis on reception the day after and he couldn’t have been more helpful, he suggested lots of different options to us and helped us move rooms. The second room was also fantastic with great views of the sea! Renne our housekeeper did a great job keeping it clean and tidy!

We found it really easy to get a sunbed where we wanted, we ventured out just after 7.30am on a morning and always found beds. The pools were very clean and tidy and were kept in great shape. Not too warm and not too cold.

The food was delicious, always enough to choose from and plenty of different choices. There was different themed nights each evening and we thought this a good idea, the Chinese one was our favourite! On an evening we were looked after by Renne, I believe that was her name, she was so lovely and took real pride in her job. Maria at breakfast was AMAZING, honestly we have never met a kinder lady. She remembered everything day after day, one of our party liked a takeaway coffee cup to take a coffee out and by the third day Maria remembered and brought the takeaway coffee without asking. She always asked what we were doing with our day and we always looked for seats in the area she was working on as she brightened our mornings!

Wako the entertainer was a joy! We loved doing the aqua aerobics and he made it so much fun. He always said hello to everybody around the pool and didn’t push them to join in, how it should be I think.

What a wonderful team this hotel has. It was also lovely to see the general manager each day taking pride in the hotel and his team!

One small thing (and it is very small) we think the bar and the snack bar could be swapped around.

We have already booked for next year and can’t wait to see you all again!

This hotel is faultless.....

We booked a week in a room with a pool on a half board basis, As this was going to be my wifes Birthday i was emailing the hotel team asking if they could get me BIG number balloons and a cake etc for her special day.

Upon arrival we had been upgraded to the Suite which has a bigger room and again a bigger pool over looking the beach which is literally 5 metres away.
The room itself had a large double bed, 2 sofas which convert into beds if needs, 2 seperate toilets and of course to wide screen tvs in different rooms.
The Pool area we had was very nice and cleaned daily, it had 5 sunloungers and 2 lots of tables and chairs, a fridge in the room which also helped to keep the bevys cold during the 34degree heat we had during our week here.

The hotel is in a wonderful location only 20 mins from heraklion airport and the town of Slalis which is 100metres away has a good 2 mile of shops, tavernas, chinese, italian and burger restaurants plus plenty of Irish & British Bars.

It is very reasonable to eat and drink in the hotel aswell as outside on the strip your looking between €2-4 for a pint and €5 a cocktail.

On my wifes Birthday we had a meal outside the hotel but i had organised a special firework display through stefanos and drinks in the bar upon arrival. All of which got me some added brownie points with the wife.

Stefanos the hotel manager and his staff are very helpful and without them during this stay it wouldnt of been the same, very helpful and thoughtful, when it comes to customer satisfaction they go above and beyond.

I highly recommend this hotel and will 100% be returning.

My boyfriend and I just finished our 4 night stay at the Blue Sea Beach hotel and I really wanted to share our experience with others looking for a summer beach holiday. Firstly, a massive thank you to all of the staff. We have never experienced such amazing hospitality, from the restaurant workers, the reception staff and even the beach staff. Everyone is so happy and friendly and warm. A special thank you to Irinia, Maria, Ben, and everyone else who made our time so special. We went all inclusive and it was great. You have breakfast, lunch and dinner all included. Plus, You have snacks/burgers/chips/cocktails included from the pool bar from 11-6. One night of your stay, they put you in the A la Carte restaurant across the hotel facing the sea and it was magical. I am vegan and they carefully put together a fresh 4 course meal specially for me which I was very grateful for. The only reason I haven’t given 5 stars is because the hotel doesn’t have the luxury feel you’d expect from a 5 star. The rooms are small, dated, the air con isn’t amazing and you don’t get the amenities you’d want (tea/coffee machine, iron, dressing gowns, no fruit/wine on arrival as stated on website/ no mini toiletries). The gym was unfortunately closed due to covid, they also only cleaned your room every 3 days (covid precautions), but you can phone with any request and they’ll help. As for the location, Stalida is a small town 6km from Malia. The hotel shares the very beginning of the Malia strip but don’t worry, you don’t get the noise or drunk folk around. There’s a ton of car/quad/ jet ski rentals/ shops/ restaurants right on the beach front. If you’re looking for a busier/livelier atmosphere then head to Heraklion for dinner and drinks. But be prepared to pay €50 for a taxi each way. Overall, would definitely return to the hotel and upgrade to one of their bigger rooms. Thanks again, fabulous!

Back to Blue Sea Beach hotel after 2 years. Last time evwrything was 5* about tis hotel, 2 years later, of course the buildings and rooms still the same but the services are really low quality specially the all inclussive offer: every juice and/or beer abd wine are so tasteless and multiplied with watter that you can not drink but have to buy from any supermarket. I do not want to make bad commercial for the hotel but just to trigger a signal to improve quality just because me and my familu really like the hotel and want it to become what it was and to drserve the money for their services. Also food at the restaurant was much poor (please do not use the Covid19 excuse because is is overrated and it is not the case), you can no longer take what you want but ask for it and receive what the staff wants you to have. Everyday there is also fish that is good, lamb, pork, chicken and beef but not very diverse but nevertheless tasty. As always Georgois, Kosta and most of the staff are great.
P.S. please don't give anymore the 1 time a'la carte for guests because in a 7 day journey we did not fit the restaurant schedule as it was fully booked and received only: "sorry, maybe next time" - that is a big NoNo for a 5 star wanna be hotel and restautant.
Please take care of the bridges over the pools because the wood is rotten and breaks daily needing maintainance. Maybe replace them.
And to end in a positive maner: good beach and staff is really taking care about it, also clean all sunbeds after each guest. More than that: thanks for a good vacation and all the best. Looking forward for the next time bur of course with a 5 star experience and 5 star services in a 5 star hotel 😀

We have just returned from a fabulous 11 nights at Blue Sea and we definitely have the holiday blues!

The hotel is set in beautiful gardens in a perfect location…

A few steps across a quiet road will take you straight on to the beach where there are ample sun beds for hotel guests and the beach area is kept clean by a friendly attendant. Being so close to the hotel means it’s easy to pop back to use the toilets if needed (by the pool bar) and grab a beer or frappe from Kostas at the pool bar, a snack from Eva at the snack bar or fresh towels from the spa.
The pool area is small and does get busy so it’s harder to get a sun bed, but being right across from such a beautiful beach you never feel like you’re missing out.

A few steps further and you’re right in Stalida’s main shopping street. This is not your traditional Greek village feel and is very touristy. Plenty of tavernas and bars to try if there’s nothing to tempt you at the all inclusive buffet. Lots of souvenirs to buy and a well stocked main supermarket. The Main Street really comes alive at night, and although busy (and having to dodge quad bikes and scooters) it never felt overcrowded or unsafe.
If you fancy heading further afield and don’t want an organised tour, bus stops are right outside the hotel and the reception staff can provide you with a timetable.
Buses are frequent, but they do get busy so won’t always stop if they’re full.
If you want a village experience, the Happy Train can take you up to either Krasi or Mochos villages in the hills behind the resort and is well worth doing.

The rooms are simply furnished, but very comfortable and well stocked with towels, and kept scrupulously clean by the fantastic team. The sunrise from the sea view balconies is well worth getting up for.
There is a main road behind the hotel, which some may find intrusive, however once the door to your hotel room is shut and the balcony open to hear the birds, cicadas and waves you hardly notice it at all.

The buffet is always well stocked, and although sometimes the options can be a little ‘eclectic’ and catered towards a more European taste, there is usually something for everyone.

Our daughter had a massage in the spa and enjoyed every second of the pampering they gave her. There are plenty of treatments to choose from and well worth the indulgence.

There is a daily entertainment schedule, but If you’re looking for a lively buzzing hotel with constant action, multiple pools and multiple places to eat all on one site then Blue Sea probably isn’t for you.

If you’re looking for a relaxing get away, in a stunning location, where you’re well looked after and can choose to do as much or as little as you like then please give Blue Sea a try!

We would love to come back again, ευχαριστώ 🇬🇷❤️🇬🇷

Just returned from a really enjoyable fortnight at the Blue Sea Beach hotel. The hotel is in a good location with a small but sandy beach the other side of a relatively quiet road. Most rooms are single story set in very pleasant, mature grounds. There was plenty of choice for food and the vast majority of the food was tasty and fresh. The hotel had taken a very rigorous approach to CV19 and it was impressive to see how well the changes had been implemented. It felt safe. The staff were excellent and cannot praise them highly enough, helpful and friendly. Given that they had to wear masks and gloves all day, it was suprising how positive they were. Special thank you's go to Stefanos, Maria, Kate, Fanis, Kostas, Ben, Georgios, Anna, Deborah. Stefanos also arranged something special before my daughter's flight home and an amazing table tennis match for me. Of couse, there are always things that could have been better, but these are small. Examples would be to somehow avoid all the towels going down on loungers early in the morning and then people not turning up to use them until much later, having more no smoking zones outside (amazed at the number of people that still smoke!), and improving ease of initial check in after a tiring journey. Stalis is busy with plenty of shops and bars without being too commercial/over crowded. We enjoyed a couple of trips to nearby bars and restaurants. Overall, an excellent fortnight and thank you again to the hotel staff.

The photos do not do the hotel justice plenty of space in the gardens pool area slightly on the small side Attractive buildings in style of a Minoan Palace provide shade as you return to your room. All the staff from cleaners to management are only two willing to assist in whatever way they can. For best sea views book upper floor room with balcony these back on to the main road but you hardly hear any noise the walls are pretty thick. We had room 126 great view across the ground floor rooms to the beach and fantastic sea view through the palm trees. The actual resort of Stallis or Stalida is literally minutes away. Plenty of beach bars and restaurants you would never starve. The only negative is that they do not label all the dishes in the servery

Hotel is in a good location, separated from the beach only by a small road. The beach opposite is very narrow and a bit scrappy. Better stretches of beach are further to the right. All beachside restaurants have sunbeds to hire for the day.
The hotel has nicely kept grounds with sunbeds around a small pool and on grassed areas around the hotel.
Breakfast was good with a wide choice of hot and cold. Evening meals were good but not varied enough, and repeats after 7 days. We enjoyed what we had, but towards the end of the holiday we ate out, at the Mastoras, The Greek Grill or the Sergiani Restaurants.
All staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful, and everywhere was kept clean and tidy.
The hotel sunbeds were getting a bit old, but serve the purpose. The main bar tables and chairs were in need of a scrub and repaint, or even replacing. The seating area could do with extending to accommodate more seats as there never seemed enough in the evenings.
Evening entertainment was limited due to covid restrictions.
We loved our stay here, and had a lovely, but lazy, holiday.

Great hotel with very friendly staff. We stayed here for 7 days and thought the experience was brilliant. We were looking for a place that was local to nice towns with restaurants but also places to drink with a bit of nightlife. The location of the hotel is perfect as we had Malia which is very local (walking distance) but could get a cab which only came to €15.
We visited Hersonissos, which we loved. We went to King Scorpio and Buddha Bar which I cannot recommend enough, if you are looking for a place to eat/drink with perfect sunset views along with some chilled music.
If you do like to watch football or have some lovely drinks with Karaoke/Quiz’s then there’s a pub called Robin Hood which is a 6 minute walk!
Back to the hotel, the only thing that let it down slightly was the food was very repetitive, but was very good quality. The pool’s were lovely, looked very much like a 5* pool.
It is literally crawling distance from the beach, which had a lot of fun water sports (Jet Ski’s and Banana boats) which was great fun!
The hotel was very clean, had no complaints about cleanliness at all!
We did stay all inclusive and made use of the lovely cocktails (Blue Lagoon and Paradises). “Kostas” the bar man was so friendly - “you are welcome” as he repeats every time you say thank you to him serving drinks.
Overall, we had a very lovely stay here at the Blue Sea Beach and would recommend it.

Not a great hotel if you have any mobility problems. Pools are small and I only saw a ladder but we didn’t use the pools due to the layout and how packed in everyone was.
