Really nice room overlooking the sea with a balcony. Weather not to great while we were there, but nice breakfasts, seats around the pool and along the sea edge. Some good restaurants a few minutes walk away and supermarkets/shops.
We didn't eat evening meal while we were there. No beach to speak of but if you walk along the sea edge you can easily get to a beach area.
Although we had a car, parking & traffic was a nightmare in Heraklion. Good bus service from near the hotel into the city is well worth using.

Wonderful staff! Helpful and always happy to acomodate. Surely we will return. The room eere cleaned daily, the food was tasty, allll good. And, on late arrival, after 9pm, they kept warm food for us, knowing we would be late, travelling with a child. We were so grateful! We had a wondeful time!

I spent a special stay at the Sunset Beach Hotel, a small, chic and quiet hotel. Daily cleaning in the room and very kind staff ready to help you with any information. The room with a sea view (that's what we paid at the travel agency and that's what we got) and the beach right in front of the hotel made our stay even more pleasant. The food is diverse and very tasty. Many taverns near the hotel. The party organized on Friday night was FABULOUS !!! Thank you for the week spent, thank you to the friendly and nice staff.
Greetings from Romania to Lavrentis and especially to Penelope!!!
We know where we will spend our vacations when we come to Greece!!!

Very convenient location (15 min to Heraklion airport by car), right on the beach, rooms clean and nice, staff is very friendly and helpful. Daily cleaning for rooms, beach and pool are being tided too. A lot of taverns nearby, beaches for different choices as well. Special thanks to staff members Onisimus and Ksenia - they have helped us with all our requests.

We booked this hotel and paid in full two months before arrival. The hotel dumped us in an appartment next to the main street and supermarket parking lot. Ocean view exchanged for traffic jam....No compensation given by management upon complaint. Our advice is fellow travellers is to stay away from this hotel.

We travelled as a family of 4 in August 2016. We wanted a quiet and relaxing family holiday and this is exactly what we got. In terms of location, it was fantastic. The beach was through the gateway next to the hotel pool, the road at the front of the hotel had a regular bus service from Heraklion to Malia, and the taxi transfer from the airport took 15 minutes. The hotel itself was fairly quiet, kept clean (sheets and towels changed every other day, the room cleaned daily), with a good variety of food on offer at both breakfast and dinner (we stayed half board). The staff were friendly and helpful. The only issue we had was, on a couple of evenings, a lack in choice of vegetarian food for me (although the meat-eaters in the family always had plenty to eat). The Greek evening organised by the hotel was also enjoyable. Groups of young people looking for nightlife would be better off in one of the larger resorts. However, for families with young children, or couples who are looking for a peaceful break, Sunset Beach is ideal.

+1
We stayed here for 4 nights in May and what a great surprise and a wonderful find. The location is excellent .... a short ride from the airport and you arrive in Kokkini Hani and this little gem of a hotel.
The seafront location cannot be beaten.... it's truly magnificent .... peaceful .... and a great to explore this part of Crete.
The hospitable, helpful and fantastic staff cannot do enough for you. Nikos, Xania, the two Yiannis and Rena are hard working, friendly staff and do everything to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Experienced fantastic sea views from our spacious and very clean suite. Conveniently located for the airport, Heraklion and the northern side of the island. Even if you don't have a car the local buses are cheap, convenient, frequent and the bus stops are close to the hotel.
Nikos provided an excellent bar experience with a great selection of drinks including wonderful cocktails.
Continental breakfast served in the pool side dining room was comprehensive with a variety of meats, cheese, cereals, breads and fresh fruit.
On our first evening when we dined at the hotel (a comprehensive buffet) Yiannis recommended some good wine at a good price to accompany our meal. Yiannis (2), the technician, keeps the pool and hotel facilities in great shape.
The rooms are standard but very large and clean. The seaview rooms are the best and reminded us of Hawaii. We look forward to returning next year where the staff welcome you as if you are part of their family.

Hi. Evening meal is buffet style too. Hot & cold foods. One night there was pasta, fish & chicken. Then you choose what potato, salad or veg you want with it.
