We are a couple who booked 2 weeks at the hotel. Our first impression on arrival was that the hotel is spotlessly clean, there is an army of staff who constantly mop, wipe and polish. We were a little disappointed to find out that we did not have a sea view with a balcony but this was more than compensated by the size of our room, the layout and the bathroom were fantastic. We did in fact sneak a look at the front sea view balcony rooms and too be honest they were smaller than ours! The breakfast buffet had all that you could want, some would prefer a soux chef preparing different styles of eggs but not a problem to us. We ate in the restaraunt only once, the area is so well serviced by fantastic options that we went somewhere different most nights. The food the night we did eat was not to our taste but was served well. Morning coffees on the front terrace, served by Cristina ,made by the espresso machine was our prefered choice both before and after breakast. Being confirmed coffeeholics the breakfast buffeet machines just did not match up. Early evening drinks on the same terrace served by Antonia would start and finish our evenings before we headed off on another gastro experience around the resort. The owners and management should be very proud of what they provide. the staff are exceptional and could not be more helpful. The beaches are small so do bother to walk to you left, as you face the sea, to find more space and quieter locations. As you do so you will see Borik restaraunt and night club which is part of the Grand Slavia. The food there is great, the sushi exceptional and the night club is good fun regardless of age. If you are looking for little England abroad with English tourists to make friends with then this is not the place for you. If your idea of heaven is a Brit free resort, family and couple orientated go to Baska Voda and stay at the Grand Slavia. You will not be disappointed.

Food is below average. Before we made a reservation we asked for a halfboard which will compliment our diet and it was accepted. When we came to dinner only thing waiter could give us was chicken which is not acceptable. We cancelled halfboard and needed to be given a refund but they charged us that first dinner after we did not have anything to eat. Juices on breakfast are diluted with water every time someone gets a glass of them. Rooms are great and clean. Spa is ok but cleaning ladies do not clean it every day and there is some garbage on the floor. Water in hot tub and pool is too cold. One apsurd thing is that hotel guests need to pay 80HRK fee to use sauna and guests from outside only pay 100HRK to use all spa amenities including spa. It was too expensive for hotel guests and needed to be included because it is the only thing hotel is good for. Waiters are rude and nervy. After asking for a glass of water they did not want to bring it and tried to make us get it ourselves. We did not feel like we were in 4* hotel, it was much like a 2* overhyped hotel.

Nice hotel with very good food and clean and comfortable rooms. SPA zone was OK with three saunas. The position of the hotel by the sea and the beautiful beach in the center is excellent. Parking is nearby.

We looooved the GHS and Baska Voda. What a find. Didnt plan on this location, we were due to Tenerife prior to the FCO change of travel policy. The location is perfect. The staff fabulous. The rooms are more than ample and included tea making facilities, bathrobes, slippers and although we did not have a balcony, we still had a fantastic sea and sunset view. We would have loved a balcony so if you do too, go for level 2 or 4. The restaurant is good quality food and very attentive service, we are foodies and ate in the restaurant more than enough times to warrant half board so if you can, select this. The bar terrace is a super area and there was often a evening singer who sang English and Croatian background music, which was v pleasant. Prices are reasonable. The local wine generally throughout BV is recommended by all venues, its absolutely super and about £12 and served in a litre carafe . Reception team are great. Breakfast is usually a buffet but due to CV19 is served by the waiters and waitresses and you probably have more interaction than normal for a buffet. The honey was ammmmazing....just saying. Great range of hot and cold food to choose from. The wellness centre was not open but we didnt know that before arrival, however they gave us access to Hotel Horizont which is a short stroll away to their pools etc so no dramas there. Fantastic decor, very boutique. The beach is on your doorstep, the mountain directly behind makes a beautiful backdrop and beach path goes in either direction for miles. We will be back.

If you enjoy beautiful, stylish, modern but still very homey place - Grand Slavia is your place! The hotel has great location, the beach is just cross a street and also you are also super close to the "centrum" of Baska Voda. The staff was really nice, helpful, smiling all the time, very friendly. We had room without a balcony (which I was missing a lot not only for view but also it was nowhere to dry our wet beach clothes - maybe hotel can come with some idea how to solve this problem). The room was tiny but was so cosy and beautiful. Very clean. Breakfast was fine. Not that many choices and also nothing was prepared freshly (like eggs) but it was definitely fine. There was few negatives: PARKING PROBLEM! The hotel has their own parking (not close to hotel) but its small and it cant fit all the guests cars, so if you are coming with your own car, maybe you can prepay that parking spot. Hotel is right next to church, which is very charming and beautiful and convenient if you go for mess. But the churches bells would wake up even dead, so if you are sensitive to noice or has small kids make sure your room is on the other side than the church side, it might help. But overall I love this place, its really worth to stay at least for few nights.
