When we missed by one week Turkey coming off the UK red list for our long booked resort holiday there, we had to scramble to find a reasonably priced alternative that ticked some key boxes: sunny/warm, seaside, fitness on offer. Vitality Punta seemed to tick all the boxes and many of the boxes were superbly ticked. The weather was idyllic. The resort is perched strikingly over the crystal clear Croatian water (wow, such clear water!). And the fitness facilities and instructors are first rate. On the bright side, the cocktails were fine quality (when they bothered to get the ingredients) and I can highly commend the local rose (which we drank a fair bit of). The biggest let down was the customer experience. It seemed like every service decision was made for the convenience of the staff and not for the satisfaction of the customers. 1 - The many coffee machines were shut down after breakfast so the staff could clean them easily meaning you couldn't finish your dinner with a coffee. 2 - If one bar ran out of Aperol, they wouldn't go to another bar to get more. In fact, they even lied about the situation. We asked for a spritz and the server said "Sorry, but all of Croatia is low on Aperol" (well be had just seen Aperol being served in the downstairs bar and when we were in town, Aperol was everywhere. 3 - If there were fewer people at the outdoor breakfast buffet, they shut down the sunny big deck and kept open the shady narrow deck (because it was smaller, closer and easier for the staff). The other disappointments were: FOOD - The food was really quite disappointing. We struggled to find anything on the buffet that was appealing. One night they had roast beef which was tasty and otherwise I just stuck to the safe bet of generic pasta or chicken and tinned vegetables. We did punt going into the local town Mali Losinj and did find some lovely eateries there. ENTERTAINMENT - With such a large outdoor space around the pool, one would expect some dancing/disco in the evenings. Lounge chairs moved and fire pits/small standing tables, etc, could create a fabulous party atmosphere for guests. Sitting in a "lobby" watching musicians play their instruments should only be offered once per week and not be the only type of entertainment available in the evenings. WATER - We were appalled that we were required to purchase water at a resort that markets itself as a fitness, health and vitality hotel.

We stayed in an appartment here at the tail end of the season when it was still very busy. The location is excellent just a short walk from the charming town of Veli Lošinj. The hotel and appartments are on the 'beach' which is rocky but well maintained with plenty of loungers - free for guests. There are two large seawater pools (cold water) and they are well located with uninterrupted views of the sea and the mainland. The downside of the large beach area is that it is rocky and very uneven and I would be unhappy recommending this to families with young children or the elderly. There are ladders into the sea but I only found one small spot where one could walk in safely. So to the appartment itself. We had specifically asked for one with a sea view and on arrival were shown to an appartment without. We immediately asked for another and as they were full this was a problem but eventually we were offered a change of appartment for the following day. This was not a good start to the holiday but the second appartment had a wonderful view and was large and airy so we were satisfied. The appartments are cleaned each day as would be expected in a hotel room. It was clean - maybe a little dated but adequately equipped. For two it was spacious but I have a feeling it was meant usually for four as the couch in the large lounge was made up. This was just as well as the double bed in the one bedroom was such a tight fit that you would have to clamber over each other to get in and out of it. I liked the provision of beach bag and beach towels, dressing gowns and slippers such as one expects in a 4 star hotel but don't always get in an appartment. I could have done with a little more equipment in the kitchen such as a few small bowls, a couple of mugs, a grater and a potato peeler. There was also a smell of drains from the bathroom which continuous use of the extractor fan did little to erradicate but all together we were satisfied. I don't understand, however, why you cannot reserve a sea view appartment (even with a supplement) as this would save a lot of disappointment. Altogether recommended with some reservations.

I visited during peak season with my husband and two kids (6 and 4). On the surface someone has clearly read the ‘how to make your hotel 4-star’ instruction manual, and so the basics are there: room size, cleanliness, food options (note, not quality), number of staff, a kids club, a number of pools etc. But below the hygiene factors there is something missing: character and attention to detail. Some examples: the buffet choice doesn’t change much day to day, and it’s all fairly bland and beige and mass-produced. I get it, it was high season, big hotel, lots of people to feed, but I can’t believe they can’t make a bit more effort and make it feel less mass produced. Presentation just isn’t there, the queues are always long, the layout doesn’t work, they just aren’t thinking about the experience. There are also no food options for lunch, there is one main buffet restaurant and one beach bar, so you have to walk to the local town, which is fine for adults but with 2 little kids in the heat of the day, not so pleasant just to get a pizza. Another thing: the beach. Along the coast on some of the islands the water is stunning, and it’s just as good here, but the entrance to the water is difficult, the concrete platforms are old and discoloured, there’s not much effort on chairs and umbrellas and there are never any staff to help. Also, the pools are all seawater which in 2021 I just don’t get. It’s not pleasant and with the beach so close I don’t understand why. On the subject of concrete, there is way too much. All the surfaces here are concrete, hard, ugly and my children fell numerous times. It seems unfinished and cheaply done. The furniture is cheap, the seating areas not staffed, no pool service, and the hotel generally feels unfinished, no decor except some naff 80s art. In some areas it’s clinical even. Outdated is one thing but characterless another. There wasn’t a single area of the hotel that felt warm, welcoming, relaxing. I observed to my husband on our first day it felt like a hospital. The location of the hotel is lovely, close to Veli Losinj, near some beautiful bays for swimming, but they aren’t making the most of it. It feels cheaply done, and if you have a few extra euros you are better off at the Alhambra or Bellevue.

Our stay was mostly very pleasant. The hotel room was very clean except for a hair we found in the bathroom sink. The view was overlooking the ocean. The staff was very nice and polite except for a young girl working as a maid. She was rude to us and made our first few hours at the hotel uncomfortable. The food was spectacular, I would definitely recommend getting dinner at the hotel. They offer many delicious meals for lunch in their pool restaurant as well. Having a nice and clean beach right next to the hotel certainly made days even better. The overall experience was great and I would definitely recommend this place.
