Detailed Reviews
We stayed in a 4 ppl classic cabin with two dogs. First of all: The cabins are gorgeous and cozy yet simple and helping so much to quiet down. Secondly: Our dogs were greeted with the warmest welcome including two do beds and bowls for food and water. Can highly recommend going there with dogs. The woods are super close by and you can go for long hikes without meeting anyone (just be careful during hunting season!) Thirdly: We were probably the worst guests nutchel has ever seen concerning lighting a fire in the oven. However, both the site manager and the lady at the reception helped us repeatedly and were more than understanding. It really was their kindness and spirit that made the trip perfect. We will definitely come back!

We really enjoyed the Nutchel, with fireplace & Nordic bath! We spend some wonderful hours. Only thing that was missing was some salt, pepper, oil, coffee & tea, so don't forget to bring this with you if you need it.
Otherwise the kitchen was fully equipped, the mattresses were super comfortable and the whole concept was amazingly good and authentic realized.
I highly recommend this place!

We went to Nutchel by car, very easy to find and right in front of the reception there is a big parking lot. The staff is very friendly and helpful and gives good tips about hikes in the area. We adored the woodstove in our cabin! We will certainly come back again.

Myself and my three friends booked The Tree Trunk with Hot Tub for six people. We came via public transport; I would not suggest this as you have to walk 15 minutes from the closest bus stop to the cabins.
Our first day/evening was fun. We enjoyed the surroundings and the hot tub. When we woke the next morning we found the tub was cold. We were met with disbelief and blame when we alerted the Nutchel staff. They didn't initially help, but instead told us we used the tub too long and accused us of breaking it.
Eventually it was checked but unfortunately never heated up again. We asked to be moved and were denied our request.
If you are coming to enjoy a cabin with a hot tub I would hesitate.
We had fun regardless but didn't appreciate the lack of understanding from some of the staff.
Also if you come via public transport make sure to bring all your food with you as there is not a supermarket 5 minutes away as stated in the guidebook and you will be forced to buy food from their menu, which will cost more.
I wish I could leave a better review but this unfortunately was our experience.

Dear, Thank you for your feedback. It is a pity to hear that our forest camp did not fully meet your expectations and that you have encountered the issues with your hot tub. First of all, we would like to apologize for your feeling of disbelief and lack of understanding. Our team on site always does his best to solve technical issues, but depending on the cause of the problem it sometimes takes a little longer to solve. Please do not hesitate to reach out to our Customer Service at info@nutchel.lu, so we can discuss about it and see what we can do for you. To reach the supermarkets in the area on foot, it takes about 15 minutes. But by car, you can reach them just within a few minutes. We would be happy to welcome you any other time again at Les Ardennes, to convince you of our good services and to rediscover our camp. Kind Regards, Team Nutchel

We expected the cabins to be private and in nature, but when you’re inside the cabin and looking out of the window you can see the neighbor’s porch. Our view from the porch: a road. When you’re on your own porch you can directly see inside of the neighbor’s cabin. Water when showering went from ice cold to burning hot in 5 seconds and back. When I touched the wood in the shower my finger got black of the stain… Went to the reception to get some help and they promised us to send someone to fix it. We especially stayed at the cabin for this, but no one showed up… We were also disgusted about the fact you’re depending on the cleanliness of the cabin's previous occupants. After all, you have to do the dishes yourself when you leave. However, we believe that the organization itself is responsible for ensuring that everything is clean. When checking in we had to wait for a very long time. No problem, but when it finally was our turn the hostess went talking to the technician. We were last in line so we thought this was very very rude.

Lovely cabin with everything you need and without the things you don't need. Back to basics, but in a very comfortable and enjoyable way. It makes you take time to enjoy things. Even though the cabins are quite close to each other, you still have a good sense of privacy. Fireplace is great to enjoy a pleasant warmth. Close to hiking trails and also to Martelange, if you want to eat out. Very friendly and supportive staff. Fantastic experience overall. Also the hot tub is amazing.

The cabin was super cozy and it was really a calming adventure. The lighting situation was super cozy such as the fire as heating option for the cabin. The bed was amazingly comfortable, I could have slept for days. I‘d love to have more vegan food options in the future and maybe hot water for mire hygienic dishwashing.

+:
The architecture of the cabins looks really nice in combination with the surrounding nature. Hottub was relaxing and nice temperature, the cabin was cosy with all the christmaslights, all kitchen appliances were available and the matresses were comfortable.
-:
The sofa was really small, we were there with 2 people and could only sit up straight. And it was very uncomfortable too, which is kinda sad since the point of booking a cabin is to relax. There is plenty of room to install a nice chilling area.
The coolbox might not be the best idea, since we needed to replace the cooling elements frequently because it was placed close to the wood stove. We can imagine it being a hassle too during warm periods. From an ecological point of view we believe it might be better to install a small A-label fridge in each cabin instead of having a few industrial freezers that are almost empty all the time.
We were missing part of the curtain in our cabin, so we were also missing part of our privacy. We would assume things like this get fixed before new people start using the cabin. The part of the curtain that was there was a bit moldy.

Stayed here for 2 nights with my partner and I wish we could've stayed forever! In all honesty: we had such a wonderful stay here. The cabin was so cosy, and we didn't miss the lack of luxury at all. Everything you could need is present in the cabin (except cooking herbs & oil, but this is stated beforehand so just bring your own).
All the staff members we talked with were very kind and helpful. We also got the BBQ basket, which I totally recommend!
Nothing better than hiking an entire day and chilling out in front of a cosy wood stove. We were only slightly jealous of the cabins with hot tubs, so we'll have no choice but to go back someday to test one out ;)

Our stay was so so so nice. You know beforehand that you're going back to basics and that the cabins aren't huge, so no complaints. What you don't see are things like the cabins all being pretty close to one another. Not exactly off grid. There's no wifi, but roaming works perfect, so it's all up to how you want to spend your time. The hot water in the shower didn't work at the same time as the BQQ. BUT, the shower is incredible, when everything works :). You're close to so much nature, but also to Arlon or Bastogne. There's no lack of activities or space to rest. I would recommend!
