We had a fabulous time at the Rainbow Valley Lodge. Our cabin was wonderful and had everything we needed. The setting was sublime! We stayed for two nights in March and can't wait to return. Rolf Hansen truely made you feel welcome and gave tremendous advice on where to eat and what to see. We highly recommend this Lodge to...

A cozy little cabin right outside of Monteverde/Santa Elena. His cabins were located right outside of town (Santa Elena) and were clean and comfortable, had 2 bathrooms and even it's own kitchen, complete with everything you need to cook up any meal. Rolf Hansen was a terrific host (super helpful) and his recommendations on restaurants and specific things to do...

This place is paradise. My mom, sister, and I rented the top an bottom of the house there! It was great! Not only was it clean and spacious, we cooked breakfast on the enclosed porch every morning to an amazing view of the cloud forest. You are secluded and in nature! Ralph, the owner, was so incredibly helpful. He arranged...

As you can see from all of the previous reviews, this place is amazing, and pretty much speaks for itself. My husband and I stayed here for a couple of nights during our Honeymoon trip to Costa Rica, and the accommodations, as well as our host Rolf, were nothing short of spectacular. One thing I feel the need to point...

This was our second visit to Rainbow Valley Lodge--stayed with Rolf last year in March and again this year. This is one of my favorite places in Costa Rica. The views are beautiful--and the rainbows in the valley were awesome!! Stayed in the family cabin with our two girls. The cabin is very clean, comfortably furnished with a wonderful view....

Wow! Trip Advisor reviews led us to Rainbow Valley Lodge for the second portion of our recent Costa Rican Spring Break trip. And we are so very glad we met Rolf and stayed at his amazing lodge. Rolf was helpful to us from the moment we booked 6 months ago. He offered great advice, and helped arrange our tours to...

I've never had such great communication from a property prior to arrival. Rolf, the owner, provides a great deal of helpful information on the property's website. During our planning process, I had many questions about Rainbow Valley Lodge, Monteverde, and Costa Rica in general, and Rolf graciously responded to all of my emails. The location of the Lodge is ideal...

Thanks so much for the kind and informative review Mike. It was great to have you and your wife stay and to have the opportunity to meet you both. (I just finished the magazine you kindly left behind for me. Thanks!) And also thanks to everyone here who has taken the time to post reviews and such good ones to...

My husband and I just returned from a trip of a lifetime in Costa Rica. One of the highlights of our stay was staying at Rainbow Valley Lodge. The owner, Rolf, is honestly one of the nicest and most generous and helpful people I have ever met in my life. He constantly went above and beyond to help us book...

You cannot beat this place for the price. You just can't. While the rooms aren't luxurious or modern, they're equipped with everything you might need (including bananas to feed the wildlife), and they are IMPECCABLY clean. Rolf, the owner is a great person to talk to, and has a wealth of knowledge about the area and Costa Rica in general....
