Me and my husband stayed in the Rainbow Valley Lodge for two nights in September. Perfect location, walking distance to downtown and at the same time surrounded by nature. We had beautiful view on cloud forest from our deck. Cabin was very cozy and clean with nice kitchen. Every morning we had visitors - group of cute coatis eating bananas...

We struck gold when we found Rainbow Valley Lodge. I stayed with my wife and three boys (11,9 and 5) in a sweet cabin with kitchen, separate adult bedroom and beds for my boys. Coatis visited us on the deck that overlooks the jungle - a highlight for my boys. Rolf took amazing care of us - hooked us up...

We could not have been happier with our stay at the Rainbow Valley Lodge in Monteverde. The owner-manager, Rolf, could not have been a nicer or more helpful host for our stay. We had the family cabin for our two 11 year old twins and my wife and I, it was perfect. There was a small kitchen, and Rolf even...

I stayed at the Rainbow Valley Lodge for three nights during our trip to Monteverde. Location wise, it is perfectly situated to explore the area. In terms of accommodation, it is exactly as described on the website. The accommodation is simple, and benefits from fantastic views. We were lucky to have a big troop of quatis in the trees next...

Rainbow Valley Lodge is a beautiful place. The owner is very friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. The cabin was the perfect size for our family of four, with plenty of room to spread out in. The lodge is close to everything, and has a beautiful view of the valley, over which we did see a rainbow...

Accommodations: Exactly as described. Beautifully situated, nestled atop a valley just outside the town of Santa Elena, all units seem to have breathtaking views (the standalone casita and the lower room both have their own patios and the upper room has its own porch with glass windows that slide all the way open to make it feel like you are...

I did a ton of research for my Costa Rica vacation, having booked the airfare almost a year in advance and I have to admit the biggest (and really only) mistake I made in my planning was staying at the Rainbow Valley Lodge for a couple of nights. In the future I will stay here for at 4 least nights. As...

My wife and I and our two children (ages 5 and 7) stayed 5 nights in the cabin and absolutely loved it. Our first morning was welcomed with the sound of pouring rain, the cheerful visitation of a coati, and the haunting call of the Bellbird. I loved sitting on the porch with a cup of coffee and a book....

We were to stay in the cabin, a lot of humidity in the room, not so clean, left the hotel with pleasure. but I must say dirty and worn Hotels is a common feature of all hotels in Costa Rica

Management response:

Thank you for your comments Mr. Tsechmaister. I certainly do not enjoy hearing that a guest had a sub-par experience here at Rainbow Valley Lodge. I fully realize I am unable to satisfy everyone. I would like to respond to clarify a couple points regarding your stay. I received an email reservation request from you Tue, Jun 19, 2012 at...

We spent two nights here in July 2012 and could not have been happier. This is a terrific property in a perfect setting. My wife, son, and I had the cabin. It was ideal for us. Lots of space, clean, and very cozy. The setting just has to be experienced! In addition to feeding coati right off of our porch,...
