I choose Arco Iris Lodge in Santa Elena after reading reviews in different medias. Before booking I exchanged numerous mails with John. Travelling without a private car, I wanted to be sure to reach the lodge (we came from Arenal Observatory Lodge), to take part to different excursions (we went to two different excursions, and Adrian the guide he recommended...

We stayed here in room 18 for 3 nights as part of a 3 week tour of Costa Rica. We were in a 'superior' room which was nice but right at the front of the property near the main road. It was quite noisy during the day and early evening, but not unduly so, but we found the nights quiet...

The location of this hotel is great but if you have the room close to the front (e.g. 19 or 20), it is noisy all night long. You can hear the motorcycles driving. I had to put ear plugs to block out the noise. The other problem is that the second floor windows don't have screens so you can't leave...

What a great place if you are staying in Santa Elena. We absolutely loved the hotel. The construction and woodworking is wonderful. The pictures are as good as it is in reality. The staff are fantastic and helped us out in anyway they could. It was our son's birthday and the ladies in the restaurant even made him a special...

Amazing hotel! The front desk staff helped us plan multiple activities in the area and they were extremely helpful with their suggestions. The hotel is gorgeous and is in a fantastic location. I highly recommend staying here!

Little cabinas, very cozy. Earplugs recommended for sleeping, because motorbikes passing by are loud, but not fault of hotel. Second time that I have stayed there, loved it. Close to everything. Birds galore on grounds. Delicious inexpensive breakfast.

My husband and I stayed two nights in the "honeymoon cottage." The cabin was spacious and private with a wonderful shower, small kitchen (which we didn't use) and a large deck that overlooks the lovely grounds. As other reviewers have mentioned, the breakfast is delicious and a great bargain. We appreciated the proximity to restaurants in Santa Elena - Morphos,...

This hidden gem right on the edge of the town center is wonderful. Its well maintained cabins flow right up the hillside. Mgr. John is a wealth of knowledge. Plus the breakfast was the best we've ever had in all of Central America! Yum.

We stayed one night to be close to the cloud forests and nature reserves. The lodge property is almost completely isolated from the hustle and noise of the town even though the driveway is directly off one of the main streets. The cabins were clean and simply furnished. The staff was very helpful although they couldn't find an alarm clock...

I recently spent 6 nights at the Arco Iris Lodge in Santa Elena, Monteverde. It was a wonderful experience all around. The cabins are lovely, very comfortable, surrounded by beautiful grounds. Town is a short walk away but you don't see or hear it at the Lodge. Also, there is a lovely breakfast buffet available every morning. I highly recommend...
