We have stayed at the Arco Iris twice, our most recent stay in August 2016. The rooms at the Arco Iris are comfortable, very well maintained, and extremely clean. We had plenty of hot water for showers each night we were there, which is not always the case in Costa Rica hotels. But the best part of staying at the... More

Very much enjoyed our stay at this hotel. We had a cabin with a queen and twin bed. The room was well organized and clean. Our cabin was just across from reception, which I was really grateful for as soon as I learned how hilly the property (and Santa Elena, generally) are! If you walk out to the end of... More

This is a cute little collection of tidy cabins on nicely-kept grounds. The staff is friendly and accommodating, and they speak an impressive number of languages. My group of four visited in one of the hottest, most humid times of the year, and we still never needed air conditioning because of the elevation. There are safes in the rooms and... More

Very tastefull, basic lodge owned by germans. With no frills but they have everything. They grow their own fruit and vegetables, they serve a healthy breakfast, and also, which is unique for costa rica, sugarless stuff. It is situated smack in the middle of santa elena, a sweet little backbackers village near monteverde with lots of nice restaurants. Wish all... More

We rented their house that is offsite. It is 3 bedrooms and 2 baths, located on a small farm. The caretaker of the farm showed us around and even brought us fresh eggs from the chickens! It was a 5-10 minute drive from downtown, but it was nice to have a kitchen, more space, and a deck with an amazing... More

What a beautiful small hotel in the city of Monteverde. You would never know that this hotel was directly in the middle of the city (except for some loud nights - dogs barking - and mornings, but we had the misfortune to be there during the mountain bike race which woke everyone up very early with very loud music which... This set of casitas is well located, very well managed by its German owners. The rates are very reasonable. The rooms are spacious and clean. Even though it was summer,we slept without air conditioning under a comforter. The restaurants in town are very good and reasonably priced.

Comfortable room (great for a family of 3), excellent breakfast, excellent location right in the heart of the town but isolated from the street. Beautiful place. The room itself was somewhat small, but it served our needs. It was such a welcome relief to get to Monteverde/Santa Elena after a week in Manuel Antonio and then incredible heat and humidity... We were very happy with our choice in staying at the Arco Iris Lodge while visiting Monteverde. We stayed in a standard room for 2 nights. Our accommodations actually were a stand alone little cabin of sorts - bedroom with king bed, plus bathroom with large walk in shower. The only complaint about it would be that there's no fan... We had 3 lovely nights at Arco Iris, staying in one of the basic rooms. The basic rooms were a pleasant surprise, similar to other lodges, just smaller. Check in was great, we were given lots of info about the area and activities. Staff were always available to help with queries or booking transport/activities. The grounds of Arco Iris are... More
