This was our first stay after arriving from the airport in Liberia. The staff (especially Freddy) were very friendly and helpful, despite the language barrier. We stayed three nights in a private room w/a washroom. The rooms and common areas were always clean, and there was plenty of information regarding bus schedules, tours and activities available in the kitchen or...

Ok, so to set the tone for this review, most of the places we stayed on our trip through Costa Rica and Nicaragua were hostels. Cabinas El Pueblo was absolutely the nicest hostel we stayed in the whole trip. The rooms were clean and big- we paid for one of the rooms with a private bathroom. Freddy and Marlenny were...

We had three great night in this hostel. We have been travelling for 5 months and this is one of better hostels simply because they do ALL the basics right. Good security, clean rooms, comfy beds and good facilities. The kitchen was well fitted out which is a nice change for Central America

The owners of this hostel have made sure everything is arranged. They are so kind and helpful and helped us easily arrange a canopy tour. The rooms are very clean and the showers are hot. I like their free breakfast and appreciate this family feel.

Me and my friend had a private double. Though the room was pretty tiny (could barely fit our bunk bed) it was clean and we had a clean private bathroom. The free breakfast was always delicious and filling. Diego is a cool guy and very helpful with setting up all kinds of activities. The family's Soda, which is right up...

I stayed at this hostel for a couple of nights and overall really enjoyed it. It is situated only a short walk from town...Santa Elena is not exactly a big place. The rooms are clean and have ensuite bathrooms. There is a lovely balcony/veranda right off the rooms where you can chill out and relax with a book. The breakfast...

Stayed here last year, stayed here again on this trip. As usually, everything was great: room, breakfast and the very hospitable owners. Some things changed: bed covers/curtains were new and very nice looking. Breakfasts got better. My only complain: the detergent they use to clean the rooms smells soooo strong, that it gave me stuffed nose. We could not get...

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Cabinas El Pueblo. It offered everything that I was looking for in a hostel. Communal areas to hang out, a nice kitchen with plenty of supplies, a okay breakfast, friendly staff, posters & brochures galore, and of course the refund policy on booking tours.
