The owners of the hotel are very friendly and accommodating. The hotel rooms are windy on the second floor, but that is just part of the experience. I also enjoyed the typical Costrican breakfast. I would go back again, and I stayed two nights.

We booked this hotel few days before a trip. We initially booked another hotel (Camino Verde in Santa Elena). However, three weeks after we booked said hotel, we received an email from them saying that they are terribly sorry, but they are canceling our already booked and confirmed reservation, since they are full. Bummer. Don Taco is a small family...

We highly recommend this property for several reasons. First, the staff-Jessica and Julio in particular- were very friendly, courteous, honest, fair and helpful. Their suggestions about how to evaluate the different activity venues the area offers were unbiased, most helpful and accurate. Hotel location is convenient- about a five minute walk up the hill from the little town center but...

We stayed here for two night and were quite satisfied with our stay. We stayed at room 12 and had a nice porch with a great view. The location was excellent as it was just outside the town and with no noise at night. But also just 5 min walk to get to town and the restaurants there. It I was...

Stayed here for 2 nights on a Tucan Travel tour of Central America. It's a really lovely family run hotel. Our room was gorgeous- a little cabin with massive windows giving a great view of the surroundings. Really nice. The room was very clean and big too. The bed was so comfortable. Breakfast was included too which was great- fruit,...

We stayed at Hotel Don Taco in a superior double room which was clean and serviced every day. We had a great hot water shower but it would be nice to have hot water in the wash bowl especially for cold mornings. There was a large fridge and a lovely glass interior balcony for watching the wind and the rain...

Maybe it was the weather we had but I found the upper floor rooms so noisy to sleep in! It was very windy but sounded so much louder in the upper rooms. The breakfast was okay just eggs rice and that horrible sweet kind of bread. It is also up a hill from the town so if you have any...

This was a lovely value-type place to stay, not a luxury place, but clean and comfortable. We were lucky enough to be in a room opening to the long balcony that ran the length of the upper floor, and served as a sitting room we could share with our family in adjoining rooms, with lovely view. Tiled floors were pretty...

Stayed two nights and felt very welcomed. The room was clean and comfortable and whenever we had a desire or a question the staff responded immediately, efficiently, and with genuine pleasantness. Definitely recommend this place.

This is a fantastic little place with awesome views overlooking the Monteverde from your room. While we were there we felt we were living in the Cloud Forest as the clouds came down around us, then cleared to show the fantastic views.
