Good day
We stayed at the hotel in mid-November 23
Of course, the hotel is not worth the money spent...(104 thousand, 7 nights, biblio, Aeroflot)
We had to book it because flower garden and gloriya were at a stop.
The hotel has 2 buildings, the first one is on the ocean, there is a restaurant and a reception in it, the standard rooms with a side sea view are very bad: (very small and dark, there is a huge bed, a closet and no more space, if there is another bed, then even unpacking a suitcase is problematic
The side view may be of the sea, but in front of the window there is garbage, cigarette butts, etc. It's better not to open the curtains
My brother had a room (apartment) in the second building, they are located nearby. The room itself is like 3 standards in the main building 😂 the renovation is much newer and the furniture is also more decent, there are chairs and even an armchair with a coffee table, unlike the zero line building
There are no TVs or refrigerators in the rooms, but it seems like if you ask for the latter they will bring it
You can also ask for a kettle and hairdryer. Dishes can be borrowed from the restaurant on the ground floor
The rooms with direct sea views in the main building were said to be decent, but I didn’t see them myself
Rooms are cleaned only if you ask and leave the key at the reception
Several times the hot water flowed cool, just like in the ocean, a complaint to the reception solves the problem👌 in general the staff is prompt and responsive
We only had breakfast, which I regretted on day 2
Every day the same thing (fried egg/omelet, toast with butter or jam, freshly squeezed papaya juice and coffee/tea. Coffee slop... sorry 🙈
I'm a girl, I was full, 2 eggs weren't enough for my brother🤷♀️
We had dinner once at the hotel restaurant, we were not inspired, but the prices were above average
Sunbeds for hotel guests are provided free of charge, towels are provided, but if you are going to the beach with turtles or on the sunbeds of other cafes, they will not be provided, so you should bring your own
The sockets in the hotel are not the same as in Russia, but I don’t see the point in buying adapters, firstly, they are of terrible quality and the plugs dangle in them, and secondly, if you insert the handle into the top hole, the curtains open and our plugs can easily be inserted
The island is very humid, especially during this period (it rains at night) so everything is very wet
The equipment may suffer, I recommend not turning off the drying mode on the air conditioner during the day
There is Wi-Fi, but I haven’t used it, I always buy SIM cards everywhere
At the airport, 30GB costs 1800 rupees (600 rubles)
A huge plus of the hotel is its location, the zero line allows you to fall asleep and wake up to the sound of the ocean, it doesn’t have any other advantages, but it seems to justify its 2-3 stars
In general, if you think that by paying 100+ k for this hotel you will get chic, brilliance and beauty, you are mistaken and very 🙈 there is no territory as such, buildings and a beach 🤷♀️
Will I go to Peacock again? No🙈

Peacock hotel gives you value for money. The rooms are fine and have the basics for a stay. There is a lovely beach. Staff are friendly. There is a food menu with lots of options. You can order fresh seafood as well from what’s available. Happy Banana and Kingfisher are in walking distance if you want to go for a party.

The catch of the day is laid out on ice. There you can choose from different types of fish and/or different types of shrimp. You can of course also choose from the regular menu. The food was delicious. Catch of the day is quite expensive, but super tasty.
The service is flawless, but a bit slow.

We arrived and got upgraded to a new room which was nice but no sea view like we booked.
Although we never had our room cleaned, never received new towels, had to ask for new towels only to wait around 30 minutes.
Our door was frosted glass so every time someone outside our room turned a light on our room lit up. Need to fix that up ASAP.
No fridge, waters daily or coffee like every other hotel we have every stayed.
People were nice, drinks were nice. Bed was really good.
A last resort hotel. Wouldn’t recommend.

Cannot trust this hotel. I booked this hotel well in advance. The hotel manager said that he has not uploaded the rates and asked me to cancel the booking on 31st Dec. 2019.
But I didn’t. I want to keep the booking. Then on 11th Jan 2020 they cancelled my booking saying that credit card detail incorrect. But it is not correct reason. I am using booking, com since Jan 2017 and using the same credit card which I registered in booking.com account.
So the reason given by the hotel is false and if I go to stay there it would not be a happy environment.
I will find another hotel. and I would like to forward my experience to all the readers and say go away from doggie hotels like Peacock Beach Hotel Unawatuna.

We don't recommend you to visit beach bar if you have basic needs of service.
We are very disappointed with quality of beach bar service, one of our girls came crying because of waiters laugh at her for no reason and then the guy from the bar rude asked us to leave, we tried understand what the reason of that anger and asked to call manager, but ~5 minutes they shauted at us and finally manager came. We don't recommend you to visit this place if you have basic needs of service.

This place is the best! Very quiet place and very close to the beach.. Very very friendly staff who would do anything to comply with your needs. Food was excellent but i think a little over priced. Rooms are in excellent conditions and would highly recommend it for sure! The owner is very friendly and flexible and stayed with us during drinking and eating sessions - a person who values customers and knows what he is doing!

We asked if we could just have scrambled eggs on toast as we didn’t have much time, and to tell us the price please. They started bringing us items for a set breakfast like juice and we sent it back saying we just ordered scrambled eggs. Those eggs came and had sausages etc on the plate, which we didn’t eat. We insisted again that we only wanted the eggs on toast. In the end they charged us for 2 full breakfasts. We spoke to the manager and even he refused to be diplomatic about this, despite it obviously being a communication problem of their staff. Why charge us for something we didn’t eat? Makes no sense.

Hotel, rooms, location, food and more - everything coincides with what is stated on the website. The room in building 2 is large and spacious, there is everything you need: a refrigerator, a kettle, an air conditioner, a wardrobe, towels... there is everything except a TV, but it is not needed next to the ocean. Everything is great at the hotel if you don’t have any requests for all-inclusive and luxury amenities. The hotel is right on the ocean, which is very important and convenient for me. The staff is helpful, especially the man who greets you at the restaurant for breakfast and dinner, as well as the hotel owner himself, who is very friendly with the guests.

Were at this hotel in September 2024. With family (me, husband and daughter 4 years old). I liked absolutely everything!the hotel's location right by the ocean, the food is impeccable (many have tried food, our hotel has the most delicious food!!!) the rooms are excellent, the room has everything and a fridge and safe, kettle, hairdryer. The staff is very attentive, all requests are fulfilled! It's not the season, there were waves. But literally turn left on the beach-banana beach will be and there are almost no waves, walk 1-2 minutes. All in all, 10 out of 10 vacations worked! From our daughter Ksiusha, everyone, a huge greeting!
