Apa is more than a hotel it's more like a home - ok palace of your own by a gorgeous clean beach in thalpe ,Sri Lanka. Being low rise and small it didn't really feel like a hotel .The staff were very attentive and friendly. The hotel was very clean and beautifully designed -- a mix of minimalist polished concrete...

Beautiful environment. Friendly staff. Great food delivered to your terrace. Lots to do around the area including visiting the sister hotel (check if the pool is full before you go). We had two rooms and found them very comfortable. Monkeys, squirrels, iguanas and monitor lizards on the ground as well as seals sighted in the water. And crab watching, all...

We have spent 3 days here in one of the Cardoman suites. The hotel gets generally great reviews on Tripadvisor but I am surprised it has been awarded a Certificate of Excellence. Once in to the small garden off the busy, noisy road, the initial impressions are good. Pleasant, attentive staff and a beautiful setting overlooking the sea in a...

Stayed here for 5 nights in the saffron suite. The grounds and pool area is stunning. Great place to relax, very tranquil. There is a narrow beach immediately in front of the pool area. It's not suitable for swimming but you can walk to a safer area or get a tuk tuk to the nearest swimming beach. The pool looks...

We had a lovely stay at Apa- 3 nights with two adults and 3 children in adjoining rooms. It's a really iconic, cool, Sri Lankan villa with its signature swimming pool and direct access onto a beautiful stretch of beach (but no swimming there). We had a great time in spite of a late night arrival where we discovered that...

Stayed here with my parents for a couple of days. Feel: beautiful villa, with large and spacious rooms. The rooms are very tastefully done, with earthy colours. The beds were super comfy and the nets around it gave a fairytale look! It was lovely. Great sea view from the room and relaxing sound of waves. The staff is polite and...

We stayed here last summer (July) for two nights. The hotel is small in size (less than ten rooms in total) which makes for an extremely pleasant and enjoyable stay. There is a great pool that can be used to cool down in during the hot Sri Lankan days. The extremely friendly staff were on hand to provide food and...

I hardly ever bother writing reviews but Unfortunately I have to agree with some of the other reviewers in that this hotel is not worth the high prices charged . The rooms were clean but the "private" terrace is not private you sit 3 metres from all other guests with no screening or privacy . Pool was ok but As...

We are currently staying at Apa Villa and are really enjoying the setting and attention of the staff. The reviewer who says the pool is dirty didn't look properly it's is very CLEAN, indeed I have watch the pool attendant clean it every morning since we have been here. However what he is right about is the beach, the hotel...

We spent one night at the Apa Villa and as soon as we arrived we wished we were staying longer! The hotel is very close to the road but it feels very peaceful and relaxed. Our room/ suite was large and very comfortable. We had a nice outdoor sitting area that looked out on the pool and then on to...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
We have three distinct stylish bungalows facing the beach front and swimming pool. All rooms except for Cinnamon Suite 2, face the ocean and lovely coconut fringed ground. Cinnamon 1 is linked to Cinnamon 2 garden- facing suite through an adjoining door, ideal for a family with several children or a group of friends. Cinnamon 1, 2 and 3 have exceptional one double bed and one single bed sleeping arrangement under a giant mosquito net. Suitable for a couple with child. Cardamom 4 and 5 are located in the centre a few steps to the lovely pool. Each suite has a separate sitting lounge indoors and outdoors. Saffron 6 and 7 are the most luxurious suites with its own sitting lounge and private verandah. Both suites are separated by a walkway across a fish pond. All bedrooms are air-conditioned and with ceiling fans in all areas. The beach in front is not swimmable but good enough for dips and long strolls along the shoreline. We are about 15 minutes from Galle town and same distance to our sister villa Illuketia inland plantation mansion. Recently refurbished with new cushion covers and in-room coffee or tea service. Our revamped day and dinner menus are prepared by our experienced chefs. Meals are served in the privacy of your own verandah space. Our English-speaking staff will look after guests and their children with warm, friendly service. No one can resist sitting or lounging on the wooden deck and sandy ramps facing the eternal ocean, sunset or rising moon. Just what is needed for a relaxing holiday. ... more   less
