We went during our stay in Unawatuna twice for lunch. The Pizza they make is really great! We had as well their fresh fruit juices and weren't dissapointed. We sat on their terrace with a direct view on the ocean. The staff is very friendly. It is not cheap but that is normal if you are in a touristy area.

Terrific location at one end of Unawatuna beach, lovely ocean views and a semi private beach that's littered by the locals at alarming levels with mostly non degradable trash. The rooms are basic and terribly worn at the edges. Comfortable beds and clean linen. Water supply is intermittent and runs dry frequently. Wifi only available on the ground level and... More

We stayed for 2 nights at the beginning of September and paid $60 per night. The hotel is very simple with concrete and white walls and colonial style furniture throughout. All the rooms have a direct view of the sea which is literally a stone's throw from the balconies/terrace; it's wonderful to go to sleep and wake-up to the sound... More

We first stayed here in 2001 and were immediately attracted by it's stunning location at the southern end of the wide golden sweep of the bay . The relaxing sound of the sea is uppermost and what we come for, but if it is disco music you need then they are within walking distance. We are always so well looked... More

Sun N Sea provided a final rest on the beach before our flight departing from Colombo (2 hours away on a very good expressway). Simple and clean accommodation but this is all about location, location, location! Excellent well away from the main busy resorts and the views from the hotel are exactly as what you see on the website..amazing and... More

My husband, daughter and myself stayed at Sun'n'Sea and this was the best part of our Sri Lanka trip. The view was indescribable and something you have to see to believe. The staff were wonderful, kind and attentive. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was so calm and relaxed, exactly what we needed. This family run business really has... More

It was a very nice and beautiful stay! And the beach as well with a very nice staff who fulfilled all our wishes (e.g. they moved the beach lies directly on the beach just for us!) food was also really good but be aware of the prices of the wine!!! It was one stop within our 10 days tour with... More

I spend the evening here during Singalese New Year. The kitchen was unfortunately closed the time we arrived, but according to the Singalese tradition they offered us free New Year-food. It was very delicious: the milkrice, kalu dodol (it's like a pudding made of riceflour), kokki's. We left the place full and satisfied. The place itself is pretty: white spacious... More

Thought it would make a change to stay on the coast but bog mistake!! The whole area is poor, a bit like Blackpool or Torquay in the UK, nowhere would have been good to stay. Although pretty clean it was decidedly downmarket and limited facilities. Limited towels provided, poor quality furniture and fittings, a D-I-Y feeling about it and noisy... More
