I had hoped to enjoy a week of convenient surfing within a comfortable setting, and did so, but my expectations were also totally surpassed. The villa is a beautiful and tranquil hideaway, which feels safe, secluded and at one with the natural beauty of its surroundings. The surf instructors were thorough, fun, dedicated (6am extra sessions for those keen/experienced enough) and eagle-eyed in the water. Everyone developed their skills over the course of the week. The yoga was magnificent - with our teacher creating a wonderful atmosphere and treating us to a varied, challenging and spiritual approach. Food was healthy and well-presented. Rooms were clean and thoughtfully maintained. Extras like photos/souvenirs were modestly priced and good value for money (as was the entire package). The whole place runs like a slick operation, because it has been so carefully crafted and managed. This was an absolutely blissful holiday. I will be back!

This was my second time at Surf Spirit and I am planning my third 🙏
The staff: everyone who works at Surf Spirit is EPIC 💚
Flexibility: you have 10 yoga classes and 5 surf classes included, but you can sign up and take a board at any time and you can use a yoga room. My vibe was more coconut by the pool relaxing and discovering the nearby cities. All you have to do is grab a tuk tuk or scooter and go!
The people: Surf Spirit attracts really chill people and you are bound to make some friends you will keep in touch with.
Food: the food the first visit was so good, and somehow it got even better! Beetroot smoothie bowl was my favorite 🥰

We had an amazing day out. It was perfect with absolutely delicious meals, clean pool, the quiet surroundings with squirrels running around n friendly staff. Even the coffee was just out of this world! (They offered us a day package for LKR 2500 pp, included a welcome drink (a fresh juice!), lunch, tea/coffee) Highly recommend for families & friends!

1 point for the surf coaching, instructors gave good inputs which helped a lot. 1 point for the yoga. The classes in the morning were energizing and yin practice great for stretching in the evenings. 1 point for the local staff and the food at dinner. It was very tasty and had many vegan options. Breakfast was ok, but most options were sweet.
0 points for the overall concept which was not my style. You get 1 surf class for about 90 min. You can surf on your own - if you are lucky, there are enough surf boards. You get theory classes everyday, also if you experienced. However, I really missed theory about "how to behave in the waves > do not snake in, etc"... Would have been useful information for some people. The beach is about 10 min drive away (you are taken there by camp-bus) and you spend a lot of time of waiting until everyone is ready...
0 points for my room. You pay for a single option and end up in a room with two single beds. If you travel with friends or anyways want to share a room with others, this is ok. But I expected something else when paying extra for a single room.
However, I am sure you can have a great time.

We already purchased more boards and are even looking into adding more boards to the quiver :) About the room: In case of booking a single Room you normally should get a room including one double room. We are really sorry this was not the case during your stay. We apologise for this mistake. This was by far our best surfcamp experience! We stayed at surf spirit twice and can highly recommend it! The surf villa is amazing (stylish, tasteful yet comfy, calming, super clean and spacious, rooms are amazing, especially the open air bathrooms!). But what made our experience outstanding was the staff! Everyone was highly professional and made us feel at home at the same time. The surf lessons were perfectly structured and organized, Alex is an amazing surf instructor! We really could improve our surfskills. (We visited surfcamps in Morocco and Portugal and surf Spirit in Sri Lanka was by far the best!). Great quality and variation of surf equipment (from various softtops to mini malibus and also short boards). You could use the boards outside the surf lessons too! We also enjoyed yoga a lot (great yoga teachers for unexperienced as well as experienced yogis, and the most stunning yoga room planted in the middle of nature). The food is delicious and within a year they also enlarged their lunch, super awesome to refuel between surf sessions! Our first stay was already wonderful and the second stay was simply perfect! The Surf spirit camp is just perfect for solo travellers (also for couples and groups for sure😉) You will meet a lot of lovely souls that share the same interests like you. The yoga classes and surf courses were excellent. The whole team was super friendly and helpful. The camp with its pool, dining and relaxing area and the rooms create a special atmosphere - minimalistic and still stylish. The weekly agenda offers a good balance between sports and free-time! The food was just amazing. Still missing the breakfast bowls❤️ I definitely found my personal happy place there. Sri Lanka and this Surf Camp are a really good choice for your next holidays😊

We spent an amazing week in the beautiful beach lodge. Every morning and afternoon we had a yoga class on the rooftop with a beautiful view over the bay. The beach and surf spot is directly in front of the terrace. We were treated with healthy and yummy food for breakfast, with smoothie bowls, lunch and dinner every day. The hole team was so lovely, we had lots of good conversations and funny evenings. I couldn’t imagine how to spent my time in Sri Lanka better. It was really hard to leave!

You can only describe it as amazing. The location is right on the beach and you can hear the sound of the ocean while doing yoga. The team and the locals always had a smile on their face, were courteous and helpful. Of course the surfing was just wowi and you could really improve significantly within a week and came always out of the water with a smile:)

After spending one week in this amazing Surf and Yoga Camp I can highly recommend it. Not only because you can meet an awesome team who will accompany you during your stay,but also meet other people from different countries; so its perfect for people who travel alone. The surf and Yoga classes can be also taken part by beginners, instructors will help you improve your skills. Your day is structured through your whole stay, Sri Lankan food is served which was really delicious, even diets are taken into account. So if you are searching for a chilled and on the other hand sporty experience you should definitely try Surf Spirit out!

Didn’t know what to expect from a retreat and never been to SriLanka before, but from the moment we arrived at Surf Spirit we were greeted like old friends by the host Nici who looked after us the whole trip!! It was an amazingly beautiful place we met some amazing people from around the world and local. Our surf teacher Marc was great, fun and patient. I can not fault the beauty and the relaxing setting, the food was great with so much Vegan options and the Yoga sessions were perfect. I only wish we stayed longer!!! Thank you Surf Spirit!
