Kabalega Lodge is wonderfully situated overlooking the Nile River. Lots of hippos around (must be careful in the evening!) and warthogs for neighbors. Excellent food! Only complaint was that there was no water available for shower when we first came back from safari. But they managed to restore later.
A lovely place to stay when visiting Murchison Falls National Park. It is a short drive from both the Falls and the ferry crossing to the delta area for the best wildlife. Our room was spacious with a large comfortable bed and nice en suite facilities. You have to be escorted to and from the room as hippos wander around the grounds and we were lucky enough to watch one feeding just feet away from our deck. It is wonderfully peaceful and the only sound you are likely to hear is the hippos munching away. The food was excellent and presented with great care. You can see that they pay attention to the small details. The restaurant offers views onto the Nile and gardens and offers a nice area to relax. Thanks for a very pleasant stay.
Everyone at this lodge was wonderful. We stayed for two days and were spoiled by the kind service and delicious food. For our last night, we returned from a boat cruise to find the cooks busy grilling and the dining area set up with lights on the floor. It was very lovely setting to look out on the nile. We were also able to see an occasional hippo head pop up. Your safety is very important and security is provided to walk you to the dining area and back to your lodge. The lodge has a desk and reading books but the lighting is very dim. They provide a wake up call complete with cups of tea or coffee. I can't say enough about Joshua and his team.Thank you to Chris, the general supervisor, Patrick a supervisor, the cooks Abbie and Amos. I also want to thank David for taking my husband and myself on a walk and talk when we skipped the morning drive. It was very interesting to learn about his community through his eyes. FYI-There is a large bathroom area with a tub, walk in shower, and double sink. You really need to bring your own toiletries as just small bars of soap were provided.…
The rooms are charming and the staff is extremely nice. They really like to make sure that they are meeting your needs and that you are comfortable. The food was delicious. We ate breakfast, lunch and dinner at the lodge.
We enjoyed our 3 nights here. The deck and community areas overlooking the Nile provide a comfortable place to hang out and socialize along with pretty strong WiFi. Joshua and his team are super friendly and available. The chef prepared very delicious meals to meet our dietary needs. Our bungalow was spacious although dimly lit. The bathroom is nicely divided into sections for sink, toilet & shower rooms. Small bars of soap were the only toiletries provided so be sure to bring your own. Without ceiling fans, we found it quite hot to sleep until the temperatures dropped in the early morning. All in all, we recommend a stay here.
