We flew in to Emanyani on Coastal Airways landing on a grass airstrip just minutes from the lodge. We spent 4 relaxing days at Emayani Beach Lodge. It was so quiet and secluded. The flooring used is woven mats so bare feet are welcome! The sand of the beach and paths between cabanas is silky white. The ocean water was bath water warm, SO comfortable to be in for long periods of time. The rooms have huge beds with mosquito nets, a shower and toilet, a sitting area on the front porch. Very roomy! Fans are included on each side of the bed for hot nights. Each room has its own little lounging area in front of the beach. We took out a sea kayak (free) one morning to the nearby river. We saw numerous birds including 2 eagles on this excursion. We took many beach walks and hardly encountered another soul. When the tide goes out, a large area of sand becomes walkable out in the ocean with pools holding lovely star fish and sea urchins. I highly recommend trying this walk with good water shoes for protection. We took at boat tour over to Zanzibar for a day. The drive from the beach to Old Stone Town was too long for my liking. We were thankful to find a guide to take us on a tour of Old Stone Town there. The market there is a fun place to buy many spices. We spent a morning snorkeling near a sand island 30 minutes by boat from Emanyani. Lots of colorful coral and fish! The lodge coordinates this for you. The food at Emayani is excellent and plentiful! We enjoyed lots of fresh fruits, juices and fish. The cooks made homemade cinnamon rolls in the morning and great desserts in the evening. There is a bar for any drinks you may want. Bird watching is fun here in the mornings and late afternoons. The gift shop has many fun options to choose from. I hope you save room in your suitcases for gifts! Mosquitoes are plentiful in the evenings so bring deterrent.

Our family of 5 stayed at Emayani Beach Lodge for 5 nights after our climb up Kilimanjaro. We were looking for somewhere quiet to relax and it really couldn't have been any more perfect for us. It was a long (7 hour) drive from Moshi which I found really interesting seeing local villages and countryside and definitely worth it!! We had the whole place to ourselves for the first 3 nights!! The bandas are rustic but beautifully appointed with everything you need. The staff are extremely attentive and the food was delicious! It is not a 5 star resort but a beautiful, paradise get-away where you will be extremely well looked after and be able to relax and re-charge completely. The bandas all have their own private sun loungers on the beach and there is also a lovely swimming pool with sunbeds and beanbags. The manager, John, is extremely helpful and will go above and beyond to help you. John booked our taxi for us from and to Moshi which was a very reasonable USD 300 - far cheaper than quoted by anyone else. We would definitely recommend Emayani Beach Lodge to anyone who likes peace and quiet and who would like to see a bit of real Tanzania! A huge thank you to John and the rest of the team!

This was a return visit. We drove from Dar takes about 5-7 hrs, but there’s also an airport close at hand if you wish to fly in, they will pick you up. Once there it is simply paradise. This time we stayed five nights and enjoyed every minute. This small resort is located on the Indian Ocean, beautiful sunrises, sunsets and although it was hot, great weather overall. The Bungalows are quite large, and provide all amenities needed, comfortable bed with mosquito netting, very clean, nice hot showers and fans to keep you cool at night. The staff go out of their way to make sure you are well taken care of, and the food is absolutely five star. Since our last visit their new swimming pool has been completed, simply stunning and very refreshing. Just a wonderful place to sit back, relax, take long walks on the beach and just enjoy the solitude.

We stayed here for 5 nights, were the only guests. The staf was very friendly and professional. Good food, nice and clean accomodation. Although the banda’s did not have windows we felt very safe. We took a canoo and went out tot the mangrove and to the reef. Very beautiful and clean beach.
