Only got to spend one night here but chose it for the semi-isolation that it would provide and the beautiful views. It is a drive from Limbe and any nearby towns so you get a nice secluded and quiet break. The beach is great and there is a bridge to take you over the road so you don't have to worry about dodging cars. Food was good and while beers were a little expensive it is to be expected.

Very nice beach location with oceanfront gazebo for oceanwatching. Rooms were adequate, but certainly not luxurious and could use some tlc. Clean though, with an oddly large bathroom. Paper thin walls and door, so hope you don't have loud neighbors sharing your hut building. Food was pretty fair, and the Barracuda with cream sauce was some of the best fish I ever had! Shrimp and garlic sauce were small frozen shrimps, but the other fish was very fresh. Great pineapple at the continental complimentary breakfast, but you may want to order an omlette if you prefer a satisfying breakfast. Extremely slow service-nearly an hour and a half to be served lunch, but lunch was good. Very quiet location, though 11 miles from town (and one gendarme stop) near the base of Mt. Cameroon. The internet was down due to a strike, so using a credit card for payment was an unexpected cash drain, but they gave us a fair exchange rate for our US $.…

A very comfortable hotel to get away for it all. The beach is just across the street, the restaurant serves delicious food, and the rooms are spacious and have all the basic features: hot water, AC, closet, desk, t.v. (very few channels but who needs them when visiting the beach?), and a very comfortable bed. You'll feel like you're by yourself in paradise.

The hotel was perfect I stayed there for one month and think I was there longest staying customer. All the staff were very helpful the boss man was also helpful but a special thanks to George who made the stay perfect. Would certainly recommend this hotel. The access to the beach is under 5 mins walk and weekends they cook on the beach which is superb.

I loved staying in such a peaceful and beautiful place. It was very relaxing and quiet and the rooms were very nice. The ocean is just across the street, and I loved being able to swim. I hope I can go back some day.

Accommodating staff, clean room, great view from the dining area. Light breakfast included; just right for starting the day. The beach is a short walk away, across a road and down a hill. Interesting black sand beach with smooth sand in one direction and a lava flow in the other. Perfect for those interested in a rustic, relaxing get-away.

That's the best place to chill, have drink, read and most of all EAT ! The food is made on demand ! It took a while to be served but it was worthed ! And its cheaper than Seme Beach which is nearby! What I recommand is to rentre a room at Seme and have all your lunches and diner at Tsaben.

The title said it all, the owner and staff are very friendly and helpful . Please don't compare it to your home , it's totally unique. The price are affordable and reasonable, some bad reviews makes me wonder what type of travelers are they . Me, my husband and our 15 months son had an excellent time there . Dinner was great ( order in advance as it might take long time ). Sunset by the beach are priceless . The room was clean and they even got TV inside ( which we don't need ). We are totally will stay here again if we ever come back to this part of the world . We suggest to rent a car from joss car rent , and drive to Limbe and pass by tea road on the way back. It's worth every penny you will spent . And the mount Cameroun is just there for you to hike for 3 days. Thank you for unforgettable stay.…

Reading reviews can be misleading at times. Standards people expects in England might be different from those expected in France and the same applies to Cameroun. Not everybody understands what really are the means available and the environment surrounding the places we visit. We have been welcomed very nicely by all staff. The room was super clean, hot water plenty, huge bathroom, well working ac in a very cute caban-style brick bungalow, with a large terrace overlooking the sea. Fantastic. Nice kept garden just in the front and very quiet. The food we had for diner was excellent (grilled barracuda and snapper) and the beach eventhough of somehow difficult access is the way it should be. Thank you

If you are looking for a resort like Club Med or the Hilton on Diamond Head, don't even come to Cameroon. There is nothing remotely like it in the country. If you like a quiet beach with beautiful and unusual colored sand, warm water, a simple, clean room with decent food in a pleasant setting in a developing country, you cannot go wrong with Tsaben Beach Hotel. We had water and power (read - A/C) the entire 4 night stay. The staff is very accommodating and food is good and much less expensive than in Kribi or Yaounde or Douala, despite the hotel being quite remote from a city. It seemed to be the motel farthest from LImbe town, but yet an easy drive in. Only the folks staying at the hotel plus a few day trippers on the weekend were on the beach in front of this hotel, vs hordes of people on the weekend at the Seme Beach hotel. The rooms are not well stocked with extras, I am sure because "extras" disappear. One has to ask for room service for a small fee and extra towels and toilet paper, but these are small inconveniences which help keep the costs down. We paid the equivalent of ~38 usd/night for a nice room in a 4-plex with a porch and a sideways view of the ocean. The wifi worked fine. We didn't need the TV, though it worked. The grounds and beach front area are well kept. We spent pleasant evenings sitting on the porch and in the open air restaurant drinking Pampelmousse, eating their fish and chicken dishes and the nice Tsaben salad, which is sort of like cole slaw. The staff doesn't seem to mind if one just sits and plays cards or talks in the restaurant at whatever hour. We also ordered a grilled fish and rice from the beach front palapa one afternoon and it was superb, especially when eaten while sitting under a shade tree on a lava outcropping with the waves crashing at our feet. Our only complaint was the mattresses, either too hard or too soft (we traded with our friends after the first night and neither was great), but after all the walks on the beach, we slept well. Take a boogie board if you have one. Swimming is good, too, as the beach is all soft sand and slopes very gradually out to deep water. We were in Cameroon for 4.5 months prior to this stay and our friends have lived there 7 years. We all agreed that one cannot do much better for vacation in Cameroon than the Tsaben Beach Hotel and Limbe.…
