The place is in a beautiful area in a beautiful country yet that’s the only thing going for them other than the pool in the center of the “resort” Upon arivial the seemingly willing to serve staff tries to offer and take your bags to the door of your room yet they only go half way if the room is “too far” and the young man who kindly put our luggage half way between our room and the front desk seemed unwilling to leave if he wasn’t tipped. Young man didn’t get tipped. Issue with AC because the power continuously went out throughout the day. New Young lady at the desk told me to come back later yet she didn’t have anyone upfront to help. The roofs leaked while my father and I were sleeping at 1 am after a storm. After I realized the dilemma I go to the front desk. Then upon changing the concierge was unpolite and at times unwilling to change the room yet it finally got changed. Food at the SeaHunter is good yet the service is terrible Rosalina is the worst of them all because she was stubborn and didn’t care about servicing her guest Yet do stay if you want a memorable experience then send your time and money and stay at the Mimare Hotel and Resort!…
The best things that can be said about this hotel are the following: it's safe, the food is decent and it's cheap. The hotel is old and tatty and the rooms are pretty basic. Pray there are now power cuts at night as the hotel does not have or use its own generators and without power (no AC) most foreigners would find sleep very uncomfortable. Service is not great either, though as mentioned the food is good. Finally, If you are bothered about petty corruption watch out for the trick (attempted at every meal!) of leaving an item off your food bill which is then suddenly remembered. Ask for a new bill, otherwise the extra, non-invoiced money will be going straight into the waitresses pocket.
We came here to spend time with family. Then we ordered food and drink. They took about 30 minutes to serve us just drinks even we were just two customers. They lost time but later we understood why: the food was really good and tasting fantastic.
The hotel is very nicely located on top of a cliff with the sea underneath (no beach) with the botanical garden behind still you can swim in a large pool although the music will be louder than the noise of the waves the facilities are somewhat run down but do their job rooms are clean a/c works well water is hot and cold towels are very small size we visited most hotels in Limbe but this is by far the best and best price/quality ratio service is ok and very slow so take your time, its not nyc
Miramar is ok, the room was clean and the bed comfortable, there was no hot water but it was hot enough outside that the cold shower didn't seem too bad! The staff are friendly and helped arrange transport for us to get to Douala airport. The best thing about this hotel is the view and location, it is right on the sea front and you go to sleep listening to the waves, it is a short walk into town and to the beach. it has a nice atmosphere with a pool and deck chairs- however most outside furtiture was dirty There is a restaurant on site which does good food, but it's a bit pricey. Overall it was a good stay, but don't have too high expectations.
